In light of the increased concern about environmen-tal sustainability and the urgent need to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, methane (CH 4 ) detection plays a critical role regarding air quality and climate change. As the major component of natural gas, methane significantly contributes to global warming and serves as an ancestor to the creation of harmful atmospheric pollutants. therefore, effective detection and mitigation of methane leaks are essential for promoting sustainable practices. the first step to achieve this relies on the creation of systems capable of reliably and rapidly detecting methane leaks into the environment. this paper explores solutions for methane detection leaks in IoT natural gas monitoring systems, with a focus on the integration of low-power sensors, particularly using Metal-Oxide-Semiconductor (MOS) technology. the research encompasses various aspects, including the development of a test plan, to ensure validation of sensor performance across diverse scenarios, aiming to simulate sensor behaviour under conditions closely resembling the environments in which they will be deployed.

the paper proposes a new 1-ϕ Wind Energy Inverter which can be used for Wind Applications. the Proposed Inverter uses MMC topology so as to provide high efficiency, high power quality, and increased reliability. MMC topology has also other advantages such as low harmonic distortion, improved voltage balancing, and high voltage levels. the Wind Energy Inverter also has FACTS properties which regulates reactive and active power. the Inverter is installed in between wind turbines and the Power Grid. It converts incoming Direct Current from wind turbines to Alternating Current and maintains a target power factor, by regulating reactive power. Capacitor banks and external STATCOMS are no longer used, lowering the system’s total cost. the suggested inverter’s overall harmonic distortion is less than 5 percentage, which meets with ieee specifications.

Wireless sensor Networks (WSNs) are a very important technology widely used in diverse application domains of environmental monitoring, disaster management, health care, industrial automation etc. these are networks in which spatially distributed sensor nodes monitor physical or environmental conditions and communications data are processed through a base station. Here, we introduced a novel method for enhancing the efficiency and lifetime of WSNs by using the WSN to process images data and genetic programming (GA) to find the best route. A system model was developed to balance a network consisting of homogenous sensor nodes placed randomly in a particular geographical area, representing realistic scenarios. Each sensor node has limited energy resources, hence the operation of the network was partitioned into clustering phase and routing phase to optimal utilization of energy. To improve both the accuracy and efficiency of clustering, the genetic algorithm then identified the optimal path through these clusters using the best combination of pivot nodes for transmission. the proposed method applies image processing techniques to process sensor data, preprocesses sensor data, and then improves the classification process, clustering results, and the genetic algorithm obtains the more energy-efficient paths. Our extensive evaluation results prove substantial optimizations in network performance, energy efficiency and lifetime over known protocols. this method is expected to be effective in such applications as environmental monitoring, disaster management, and other applications that will utilize reliable and sustainable WSNs.

In this paper, a new energy vehicle automatic charging system is built on the cooperative robot by using 3D vision and F/T sensor. In particular, aiming at the problem that the attitude error is not taken into account in the peg-in-hole problem of the existing system, this paper proposes a position and attitude adjustment method based on the classification of force and torque information, which divides the contact force and torque obtained by the F/T sensor into nine categories. According to different classification results, different compensation strategies are adopted to adjust the motion control, and finally the charging plug is inserted accurately and flexibly into the charging port. Finally, the random contact data classification experiment and the automatic charging actual insertion experiment are designed. the experimental results show that the accuracy of the classifier is 92.59%, and the success rate of insertion is 94%. With these two experiments, the feasibility of our system is verified from the aspects of precision rate, recall rate, F-Measure and actual insertion success rate of the classifier. © 2021 ieee.

the number of electric vehicles (EVs) on the road is expected to continue to increase during the next decades due to various factors such as the rapid progress in EV technology and decreasing battery prices. the prolonged battery charging process, which is one of the main problems that affects the increased EV penetration, makes the fast charging units more attractive and efficient option for the charging stations. In this study, a control strategy for a DC microgrid including electric vehicle fast charging station (EVFCS) and distributed generation units is presented to examine the impacts of EVFCS on the grid as well as their potential contributions to the system operation in the case of considering the vehicle-to-grid (V2G) technology. It is especially aimed to mitigate the voltage sag and swell problems by using the EV battery as a DC source of a distribution static compensator (D-STATCOM) device. Simulation studies in MATLAB Simulink/SimPower systems show that considerable improvements can be achieved from the perspective of distribution system operation such as improved voltage quality and from the perspective of end users such as decreased charging durations.

In the era of mobile Internet and cloud computing, the rise of big data has profoundly impacted diverse industries and sectors, drawing significant scholarly attention. the objective of this paper is to delineate an overview of the international research landscape of big data, identifying key research hotspots and emerging trends. To gain a comprehensive overview of the current state of research in the field of big data, we employed a range of analytical techniques, including co-word analysis, clustering analysis, social network analysis, and dynamic strategy coordinate mapping. Our review encompassed articles published between 2017 and 2019, spanning a three-year period. the data were sourced from the SCI, SSCI, SPCI, and CPCI-SSH databases. the literature was subjected to a sysytematic analysis using Bibexcel, SPSS, and Gephi software, with the objective of uncovering distinct patterns and trends. the findings reveal 11 thematic clusters within international big data research. these are text mining, data fusion, distributed computing, Industry 4.0, data privacy, business intelligence, precision medicine, bioinformatics, and data mining techniques such as classification and clustering. It is noteworthy that Industry 4.0, data privacy, and text mining emerged as significant research hotspots. Furthermore, the fields of artificial intelligence, natural language processing, smart grids, energy big data, and wireless sensor networks are regarded as emerging areas of interest. It is anticipated that the convergence of bioinformatics and other pivotal areas of big data research, will serve as the impetus for future research hotspots, necessitating sustained scholarly investigation and discourse.

this study introduces a new type-two fuzzy-aided integral-derivative looped with a proportional-derivative FAI D - (P D) l controller for achieving secondary frequency regulation of a diverse triple-area hybrid power system (PS). the African vultures optimisation algorithm (AVOA) optimizes the controller gains. Area-l encompasses thermal power stations along with distributed generation sources, which include wind turbines and solar photovoltaics. Area-2 is equipped with a combination of thermal and gas energy sources, while area-3 is connected to a combination of thermal and nuclear energy sources. thermal systems also take into account practical limitations making the system nonlinear. In addition, a thorough robust stability assessment of the investigated system is conducted. Finally, the proposed method is compared with some contemporary schemes to vindicate its efficacy.

this paper proposes an approach to sensor-less predictive current control (PCC) for Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motors (PMSM) utilizing duty modulation techniques. Traditional predictive control methods often rely on additional hardware for speed sensing, leading to increased costs and computational burden. the traditional methods also produced high torque and flux ripples that led to reduced efficiency of the drive. In contrast, the proposed sensor-less model reference adaptive system (MRAS) control leverages the inherent properties of the PMSM drive system, reducing the dependency on external sensors while maintaining high accuracy and efficiency. Furthermore, utilizing duty cycle calculations, the active voltage vector is only picked for a limited time, reducing torque and flux ripples. the new method is compared to the conventional way using MATLAB/SIMULINK results to demonstrate its efficacy. the proposed method is validated using various drive cycles ensure its suitability for use in electric vehicles.

Wireless sensor networks (WSNs) and their applications are on an increasing trend owing to the users’ demands with interest in environmental activities, intelligent cities, and medical assistance. However, because of the inefficiency and limitations of wireless sensor networks, it is still very difficult to optimize the network parameters and performance (energy consumption, area coverage and reliable information transfer). In this paper optimization algorithms including Ant Colony Optimization (ACO), Moth Flame Optimization (MFO) and Whale Optimization Algorithm (WOA) to enhance the effectiveness of wireless sensor systems are presented. In this approach, ACO captures and explores functional properties, MFO coordinates the optimization and exploration processes, and WOA concentrates on global exploration. Wide-ranging simulations demonstrate that the recommended approach is more effective than the existing approaches in enhancing energy efficiency, network lifetime and effectiveness of packet delivery. the findings in this paper indicate that the proposed hybrid algorithms support the various requirements of the WSN, thus promoting development of networks that are secure and dependable.

Optimal placement of distributed generation (DG) is important in modern distribution network planning. Most DG placement models in the literature are based on normal state power loss and voltage profile enhancement rather than probabilistic security indices. In this paper, a decision tree (DT) classification approach for multiple renewable energy source DGs (RES-DGs) placement in an unbalanced distribution network using probabilistic security indices is proposed. the indices considered in this research are the feeders' risk index (RI) and power loss (PL). the optimal feeders for RES-DG placement are determined through the feeders' RI and PL while the optimal nodes are determined using the nodal hosting capacity (HC) and the critical voltage (V-cr) indices. the proposed technique was tested on a modified ieee 33-node radial distribution network. After the optimal placement of the RES-DGs, the worst case of the average probabilistic voltage, steady-state power loss, and risk index obtained for the base case is improved from 0.93 pu, 144 kW, and 5.17 to 0.96 pu, 22 kW and 0.042, respectively. the results show that the proposed technique is effective to allocate multiple RES-DG for long-term distribution network planning and expansion, to increase the RES-DG penetration while minimizing the voltage risk.
