Nowadays the data center switches employ the on-chip shared buffer to absorb bursts and avoid packet loss during transient congestion. However, as the buffer-per-port-per-Gbps in production data centers decreases, it becomes more challenging to provide efficient buffer management to meet the requirements of heterogeneous traffic. We observe that typical shared buffer management policies have two steps: first, they identify short flows arriving at ports and then allocate more buffer room for these ports. Unfortunately, the lack of isolation between long and short flows leads to increased queue buildup and even packet loss of short flows. To address this limitation, we propose D 2 T, which uses different queue length thresholds for long and short flows. Specifically, we first design a compact data structure to distinguish between long and short flows. then when two kinds of flows coexist at the same port, the threshold of long flows will decrease to absorb the bursty short flows. We implement D 2 T at a P4- programmable switch and large-scale simulations. the results demonstrate that D 2 T reduces both average and tail flow completion times (FCT) of short flows by up to 29% and 62% compared with the state-of-the-art policies, respectively.

Perception technology plays a significant role in ensuring driving safety and other aspects. However, achieving the optimal configuration of multi-source sensors is a complex problem when designing an intelligent vehicle perception system. In this paper, the ACP method (artificial system, computational experiments, and parallel execution) is introduced to address the problem of optimally configuring multi-source sensors in intelligent vehicles. Firstly, an artificial system is constructed to simulate the effects of different scenarios on the performance of sensing sensors. Secondly, the configuration method for different sensing sensors, under the condition of maximum coverage of the sensing area, is determined through computational experiments. this includes determining the number of installations, positions, and directions. Finally, dynamic optimization of the configuration scheme is achieved through parallel execution, resulting in an optimal configuration scheme of multi-source sensors for intelligent vehicles that meets the requirements of different scenarios. Additionally, this paper generates a multi-sensor configuration scheme through computational experiments based on a hypothetical car model. the effectiveness of the parallel optimal configuration method proposed in this paper is verified by evaluating the coverage of the perception area under various scenarios.

Network security management comprehensively uses the theories, technologies and methods of artificial intelligence, network management, information security, distributed computing and other fields to maintain and strengthen network security. there are many methods for network security management. this paper summarizes the research of scholars in the field and divides it into three categories. this review focuses on Agent-based model, Policy-driven model, and Modular-based model, selects several representative models for each and details the concept, construction, use, as well as the transformation and innovation of the models. In addition, we also summarize the techniques and methods used in these categories, and point out the open research issues and directions in each area.

With the explosion of data, Wireless Edge Caching (WEC) has become a promising approach for locally accessing cached contents. Due to the limited storage capacity of local caching devices and the varying preferences of humans for content, it is necessary to predict popular contents. In this article, we will address two distinct objectives: 1) Popularity prediction of the content that should be cached at the edge to effectively utilize edge device memory. 2) Edge devices collaboration for efficient content delivery. Accordingly, we propose an FL-based Star Cooperative Caching (FedStar Caching), utilizing a Star network topology for realizing an efficient cooperation among Femto-cell Access Points (FAPs) using a Decision Center (DC) to enhance power efficiency and delay performance. Considering human sensitivity to privacy, collecting users’ data on a central server is not desirable, therefore, we leverage Federated Learning (FL) to alleviate this challenge. Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed method outperforms alternatives in terms of cache efficiency, as well as delay and power consumption.

Access to a high percentage of interval new energy has a huge impact on the stability of the distribution network. In this paper, a two-layer control strategy is proposed to enhance the voltage stability of distribution networks. the dual-level controls are implemented at the top and bottom levels. the higher level stabilizes the voltage and determines the overall effective/reactive power of the stored power plant group when the voltage at each node meets the safe operating conditions and the voltage deviation is minimized. the bottom layer optimally allocates the top layer operation results and considers the distributed energy storage aggregator operation economy and new energy utilization rate to allocate power to each energy storage power station. the controlled process is executed on a temporal scale and the operation results are transmitted to the energy reserve detection and control modules. the module then identifies the mode of operation and distribution of power for individual energy storage devices based on the status of each energy-stored device in real-time. the proposed control strategy is validated in the ieee 33 node system and the results of storage power allocation are calculated using particle swarm algorithm. the results show that the time-scale-based controlled strategy for two-tier stored energy plants is reasonable and effective.

As the number and hours of videos available within an organisation increases, as well as it's demand, the need for fast video streaming applications arises. Cloud based services are not cost effective and are not an ideal choice for storing the ever-increasing video data that is usually stored and used only within a particular organisation, like a University. Hence, this paper proposes a web based system design to store and stream videos at a small-scale within an organisation. To improve the video viewing experience for the user, the system is flexible to handle sudden changes, like increase in number of requests. the system requires the use of a cluster of servers to deliver the content as a single server cannot handle the load as number of requests increases. this requires effective load distribution among the servers. this paper proposes a way to design this system for adaptive video streaming. this system is highly scalable and can handle high loads, i.e. a higher number of users connecting to the application simultaneously. this paper proposes an algorithm called inter-server load balancing algorithm with Adaptive Agent-based load balancing to solve this problem. the algorithms also incorporates dynamic video resolution delivery techniques to ensure smooth viewing experience in the whole user experience irrespective of the network speed and bandwidth.

Numerous traditional mathematical design approaches are ineffectual to figure out and interpret the power quality issues since the power system network is non-stationary, required several inequality constraints, and is highly non-linear. In addition to this, various other complex issues namely reactive power burden, harmonic current and unbalance source current must be taken into consideration. therefore, this paper proposes a cooperation search based optimization algorithm integrated with the PI controller in mitigating the harmonic and enhancing system effectiveness. Here a fast Fourier transform (FFT) is employed to evaluate the total harmonic distortion (thD) for the waveforms of specific current and voltage. the thD signifies the signal quality and the significant intention of this paper involves designing and obtaining minimum thD percentage. the experimental analysis is carried out and the result analysis emphasized that in the proposed approach, the harmonics are mitigated to a great extent. © 2021 ieee.

Time Slotted Channel Hopping (TSCH) is a medium access protocol defined in the ieee 802.15.4 standard which have been proven to be one of the most reliable options when it comes to industrial applications. TSCH has been designed to be utilized in static network topologies. thus, if an application scenario requires a mobile network topology, TSCH does not perform reliably. In this paper we introduce active connectivity for mobile application scenarios, such as mobile robots. this is a feature that enables the option to regulate physical characteristics such as the speed of a node as it moves, in order to keep being connected to the TSCH network. We model the active connectivity approach through a basic example where two nodes are moving towards the same direction to infer the main principles of the introduced approach. We evaluate the active connectivity feature through simulations and quantify trade-off between connectivity and application-layer performance.

In recent years, extensive research has been conducted on the risk of false data injection (FDI) attacks, which has led to major concerns about the potential consequences of these attacks in real-world situations. False data injection attacks pose significant risks to contemporary infrastructure. Recent trends have shown a noticeable rise in cyber attacks targeting critical infrastructure, including major electrical grids, distributed energy resources (DER), and SCADA-based electrical grids. Control systems in multiple sites have been consistently targeted. this paper outlines the attack model, which is divided into two main portions. Initially, we create the model and execute the simulator. In the second section, we employ the simulator to depict various scenarios, elucidate our algorithm, and expound on the simulation procedure. this study investigates two attack scenarios, demonstrating the attacker's effectiveness in compromising meters and altering state estimate outcomes. the text presents the use of a Generative Adversarial Network to improve the accuracy of estimation data and investigates different techniques for identifying the injection of false data. the validation process involves conducting simulations on ieee test systems to confirm the effectiveness of the attacks.

this work proposes an intelligent physiotherapeutic system for real-time wrist movement assessment utilizing TinyML and inertial measurement unit (IMU) sensors. the hardware setup comprises two MPU-6050 IMU sensors connected to an ESP32 microcontroller affixed to a wristband. During wrist movements, the sensors capture the accelerometer and gyroscope data. Random Forest and Decision Tree machine learning models were considered for training using a manually curated dataset, adopting TinyML techniques to predict movement correctness on the device efficiently. Timestamped predictions are transmitted to the central cloud server via Wi-Fi, enabling users to access assessments through a mobile app. this system provides an objective and efficient approach to wrist movement evaluation for physiotherapy, ensuring reliable and unbiased assessments. Additionally, an app was developed for patients' use, facilitating a user-friendly interface for tracking and assessing their physiotherapeutic movements. the dataset was recorded considering commonly encountered cases while performing wrist movements in a pragmatic scenario, with the dataset recorded from an individual acting as a volunteering patient.
