With the advent of new technologies in modern era, Internet of things (IoT) is one of the technologies that have gained tremendous popularity by establishing connection with smart devices and bringing them closer to users. But it is not a piece of cake that can be easily accessed by everybody. It has various challenges associated with it like traffic congestion, battery exploitation, loss of bandwidth, delay in latency and many others. Various studies have been conducted to overcome these challenges. One of the most common techniques is Data Offloading. It is the transfer of certain tasks to rich devices to perform execution of tasks with minimum delay. In addition to this, when server reaches the maximum capacity of tasks execution, extra tasks are distributed to sensor devices relatively called as ‘Load Balancing’.the paper provides systematic literature review (SLR) on various data offloading approaches conducted in recent years. Besides this, it also discusses criteria and infrastructure requirements for offloading of data.

this work proposes an intelligent physiotherapeutic system for real-time wrist movement assessment utilizing TinyML and inertial measurement unit (IMU) sensors. the hardware setup comprises two MPU-6050 IMU sensors connected to an ESP32 microcontroller affixed to a wristband. During wrist movements, the sensors capture the accelerometer and gyroscope data. Random Forest and Decision Tree machine learning models were considered for training using a manually curated dataset, adopting TinyML techniques to predict movement correctness on the device efficiently. Timestamped predictions are transmitted to the central cloud server via Wi-Fi, enabling users to access assessments through a mobile app. this system provides an objective and efficient approach to wrist movement evaluation for physiotherapy, ensuring reliable and unbiased assessments. Additionally, an app was developed for patients' use, facilitating a user-friendly interface for tracking and assessing their physiotherapeutic movements. the dataset was recorded considering commonly encountered cases while performing wrist movements in a pragmatic scenario, with the dataset recorded from an individual acting as a volunteering patient.

the opportunistic spectrum access (OSA) algorithms allow secondary users (SUs) to exploit vacant channels with an aim to maximize overall spectrum utilization/throughput. the design of OSA algorithm is challenging for ad hoc networks due to lack of coordination among SUs and unknown channel statistics. It becomes even more challenging for the dynamic networks where the SUs can enter or leave the network any time without prior agreement. Most of the existing algorithms assume either prior knowledge of the number of SUs or need wideband sensing to sense all channels simultaneously to guarantee optimal channel allocation among SUs. Our goal in this paper is to develop distributed OSA algorithm for dynamic ad hoc networks that offers higher throughput without compromising on the number of SUs collisions. the proposed distributed algorithm is based on multi-player multi-arm bandit framework and they allow SUs to independently estimate the number of other SUs and channel statistics. We derive the upper bounds on the throughput loss (regret) and number of collisions. Exhaustive synthetic results and experimental results on universal software radio peripherals (USRP) based testbed validate our claims and superiority of the proposed algorithm.

Artificial Intelligence (AI) based techniques are typically used to model decision making in terms of strategies and mechanisms that can result in optimal payoffs for a number of interacting entities, often presenting antagonistic behaviors. In this paper, we propose an AI-enabled multi-access edge computing (MEC) framework, supported by computing-equipped Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) to facilitate IoT applications. Initially, the problem of determining the IoT nodes optimal data offloading strategies to the UAV-mounted MEC servers, while accounting for the IoT nodes' communication and computation overhead, is formulated based on a game-theoretic model. the existence of at least one Pure Nash Equilibrium (PNE) point is shown by proving that the game is submodular. Furthermore, different operation points (i.e. offloading strategies) are obtained and studied, based either on the outcome of Best Response Dynamics (BRD) algorithm, or via alternative reinforcement learning approaches (i.e. gradient ascent, log-linear, and Q-learning algorithms), which explore and learn the environment towards determining the users' stable data offloading strategies. the corresponding outcomes and inherent features of these approaches are critically compared against each other, via modeling and simulation.

In this manuscript the SRAM cell using IOT is proposed by the use of doping less vertical nanowire tunnel FET with NC effect NC-ED-VNW-TFET. Here the device is designed with dopingless substrate to avoid random dopant fluctuation (RDF) and expensive thermal budgeting and the doping is created by electrostatic technique. thereafter the negative capacitance (NC) effect is introduced by using piezoelectric material to reduce the required voltage to its half level. By the use of N C effect, the device is significantly useful for low power application. After designing the device and reducing the applied voltage the SRAM is designed with this device. the performance parameters like leakage power, leakage current, read signal to noise margin (RSNM), write signal to noise margin (WSNM), read delay, write delay etc. of this circuit are been contrasted with the available data of published IOT SRAM cells. After comparison it is found that the proposed device is showing better results in comparison with the published device.

Ubiquitous sensing, which combines WSNs and the IoT, makes settings smarter and more efficient for numerous procedures. For "Ubiquitous Sensing: the Convergence of WSNs and IoT in Contemporary Scenarios," this research examines a strategy to increase dependability, security, energy efficiency, and data accuracy. Recommended features include adaptive power management, data fusion methods, edge computing nodes, blockchain technology, and robust identification systems. these pieces improve the system and address common issues. the major research findings suggest that the strategy performs effectively in numerous success categories. Power management systems optimise energy consumption, reducing costs and environmental impact. Advanced data fusion and fault-tolerant designs improve data accuracy and reliability, allowing you to integrate data appropriately and keep the system functioning. Latency-sensitive applications may move and react to data in real time with reduced network delay and greater performance. Strong authentication and blockchain-based encryption maintain data accuracy, user privacy, and legal compliance while reducing hacking threats. the study describes the method's comprehensive approach to ubiquitous sensing, establishing a standard for IoT advances. Making systems more efficient and dependable, while prioritising data privacy and security, improves IoT infrastructure dependability and resilience.

Microgrids have gained immense popularity over the past few years due to an urgent need for renovation of the conventional grid which confronts issues like the depletion of fossil fuel reserves, poor energy efficiency, environmental pollution, less overall power quality and reliability. One of the main shortcomings of microgrids is the intermittent nature of microsources which can be overcome to some extent by Energy Storage systems (ESSs). But these have some disadvantages like high initial and maintenance costs. Interconnected microgridscan act as a promising solution in this scenario. When a microgrid faces energy deficiency, it can absorb power from its interconnected neighbor. Since there are numerous distributed Generation (DG) sources in this case, power quality issues, specifically harmonics need to be addressed. this paper focuses on modeling interconnected DC microgrids (supplying an AC load), and performing harmonic analysis of the AC load current in MATLAB/Simulink environment. An economical low-pass broadband passive LC filter has been designed to reduce the Total Harmonic Distortion (thD), which proves to be an effective solution in mitigating harmonics. © 2021 ieee.

the growth in the number of traffic accidents has become a cause for concern in urban centers. As a result of the increase in population in large cities and the number of vehicles, the consequences of accidents and congestion can be even more significant, considering the impacts on the economy, environment and people's quality of life. therefore, aiming to minimize these impacts, we present ALIVE, a distributed and Vanet-based solution that reduces congestion caused by different sources and, especially, from accident sources, contributing to efficient urban mobility in smart cities. the solution performs the detection of accidents and the dissemination of warning messages in multiple hops. Besides, the system can share the road traffic information with the nearby streets to improve traffic efficiency. We evaluated the proposed solution with PANDORA and NRR Traffic Management solutions. Simulation results indicate that the proposed solution reduces the average travel time, time lost, and the number of transmitted messages.

Focused on the issues that the sparseness of the data obtained after factorization is reduced and with the increasing of training samples, the computing scale increases rapidly, an incremental learning algorithm based on graph regularized non-negative matrix factorization with sparseness constraints was proposed. It not only considers the geometric structure in the data representation, but also introduces sparseness constraint to coefficient matrix and combines them with incremental learning. Using the results of previous factorization involved in iterative computation with sparseness constraints and graph regularized, the cost of the computation is reduced and the sparseness of data after factorization is highly improved. Experiments on both ORL and PIE face recognition databases demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method. © 2021 ieee.

With the continuous development of technology, the collection of human physiological parameters has become increasingly important in the medical and health industries. thus, we propose a human physiological parameter acquisition system based on a microcontroller and the Internet of things (IoT). this system is based on the AT89C51 microcontroller as the core, combined with Bluetooth modules, temperature sensors, pulse sensors, blood pressure sensors, and other devices. It enables real-time collection and wireless transmission of physiological parameters of body temperature, pulse, and blood pressure. Digital temperature sensors are used for temperature collection, while pulse oximetry sensors and blood pressure sensors are used for pulse wave and blood pressure collection. Bluetooth modules are used for wireless data transmission, solving the drawbacks of wired transmission. A user interface allows users to switch between different physiological parameter display interfaces through buttons and view their physiological parameter data in real-time. At the same time, the system has a recognition function, which collects user information through identity card scanning and facial recognition, ensuring the accuracy and security of data.
