Two increasingly popular distributed energy resources (DERs), especially within the European context, are photovoltaic (PV) installations and electric vehicles (EVs). Numerous models have been proposed for optimal management thereof, such as Home Energy Management systems (HEMSs) and EV parking lot management systems (EVPLMS). However, these approaches are often designed to benefit only one party without taking into account the effect of any other management systems. I.e., HEMSs are designed to only maximize the economic benefit of home owners, while EVPLMSs are designed to only maximize the profit of parking lot owners. In this study, the coordinated use of these systems is modeled and simulated to investigate whether a synergistic relationship exists in which consumers (EV owners) have an added economic benefit by the simultaneous operation of HEMSs and EVPLMSs. As such, a cost-benefit analysis is conducted from the point of view of the EV owners, utilizing a HEMS at home and an EVPLMS at work. the analysis was performed on case studies that are based on real facilities, locations, meteorological data, and electricity market prices in Porto, Portugal.

Multi-access edge computing provides a low-latency and high-performance network environment for the Internet of Vehicle services by migrating computing and storage resources to the edge of networks and supports the deployment of more regional-specific vehicle-to-everything services. In this paper, we propose a fusion perception method for roadside cameras and millimeter wave radar as an application of edge computing. First, we used YOLOv3 to process camera data and DBSCAN clustering method to process radar data to obtain the position, speed, and category of detections. Next, we used joint calibration to spatially synchronize camera and radar data and a direct update method to temporally synchronize camera and radar data. Furthermore, we used the Munkres algorithm to associate camera and radar detections, and Kalman filter to track the proposed fusion method's perception results. Finally, we conducted simulation experiments to evaluate the proposed method. the simulation results demonstrate the effectiveness of our algorithm.

In this paper, in order to match the special construction of ship information system (SIS), a new design method of distributed cooperative control policy is proposed. By determining corresponding task type (Basic Task BT or Addition Task AT), the design order is set. Meanwhile the related actuators in these coupled tasks are divided into 3 categories: major actuator (A(I) actuator), minor actuator (A(II) actuator) and related actuator (A(III) actuator) by its ability to perform the task. According to such categories, the control policy of each actuator are designed by its defined priority from BT's A(I) actuator to AT's A(II) actuator. For actuator A(i), its control policy is designed under 2 conditions, 1) the control effects by those actuators with higher priority are cumulated as several inter-nonlinear feedback loops, 2) those actuators with lower priority are ignored and disabled (zero output). Under this design structure, a feasible distributed control policy named Fusion Fuzzy-PID is presented. Meanwhile, by designing the control policies for ship heading and rolling control tasks, the process and effect of proposed method has been examined. the result shows that by following this design method, the control policy of each related actuators is solvable. Dislike normal design method, this proposed method has the ability to disassemble coupled tasks and decrease the dependency of SIS communication network course for distributed Control Units (DCUs) in SIS.

Photo response non-uniformity (PRNU) noise is a sensor pattern noise characterizing the imaging device. It has been broadly used in the literature for image authentication and source camera identification. the abundant information that the PRNU carries in terms of the frequency content makes it unique, and therefore suitable for identifying the source camera and detecting forgeries in digital images. However, PRNU estimation from smartphone videos is a challenging process due to the presence of frame-dependent information (very dark/very textured), as well as other non-unique noise components and distortions due to lossy compression. In this paper, we propose an approach that considers only the non-Textured frames in estimating the PRNU because its estimation in highly textured images has been proven to be inaccurate in image forensics. Furthermore, lossy compression distortions tend to affect mainly the textured and high activity regions and consequently weakens the presence of the PRNU in such areas. the proposed technique uses a number of texture measures obtained from the Grey Level Cooccurrence Matrix (GLCM) prior to an unsupervised learning process that splits the feature space through training video frames into two different sub-spaces, i.e., the textured space and the non-Textured space. Non-Textured video frames are filtered out and used for estimating the PRNU. Experimental results on a public video dataset captured by various smartphone devices have shown a significant gain obtained with the proposed approach over the conventional state-of-the-Art approach. © 2021 ieee.

Electrification of public transport systems has become a strategic priority due to the highly versatile potential of electric vehicles (EVs) as distributed energy resources (DERs) Despite the logistic ease of transitioning conventional public transport systems to fully-electric ones, the latter must be properly designed to adhere to technical constraints and minimize their total ownership cost (TOC). Most published work addresses this issue with a narrow scope, such as modeling a very specific case study, leading to non-generic models which are difficult to apply for a universal case. In this study, a mixed-integer linear programming (MILP) model is formulated to model a generic public transport network, comprising the routes, electric bus models, and charging infrastructures. the objective function minimizes the TOC of a generic network, which can be applied to any universal case study. the constructed model is tested by simulating a system with different routes, bus models, and types of chargers to obtain the optimal configuration of the charging infrastructure.

Wireless sensor Networks (WSNs) plays a vital role in our everyday lives. In WSNs the data are to be sensed between one node to another set of nodes in the network for the purpose of achieving transmission. At the time of transmitting sensed data in the Wireless Networks it may utilize large amount of energy (like power consumption, payload, etc.) for any operation. Accumulating data plays vital role in conserving energy in the network framed using wireless sensors. Accumulation of the data is a procedure which was mainly designed to minimize the overhead in the communication as well as control energy utilization in sensor nodes during the process of data collection. A data aggregation protocol plays a firewall for protecting data among the elements of wireless transmission. Enhancing the lifetime of wireless networks is a challenging issue. In this paper we analyse the challenges for privacy preserving in protocols of data accumulation (aggregation). initially the accumulation protocol is based on various metrics like energy consumption, accuracy of data, authentication of data and confidentiality of data. Here we also identify various resolvable issues for enhancing quality of preserving privacy in aggregation protocols. © 2020 ieee.

Unmanned vehicle can be used as a transport tool for teams and groups to accompany and follow soldiers, reduce the load of team members and identify team members accurately in real time. It is a prerequisite for the realization of control algorithm and one of the core technologies for automatic control of military vehicles. Aiming at the problem of personnel identification under the fusion perception of lidar and camera, especially the problem of multi-sensor space and time synchronization, this paper proposes a solution based on multi-sensor fusion, and designs fusion criteria of space scale, time scale and personnel identification. the experimental results show that a designed personnel identification algorithm based on multi-sensor space and time fusion can accurately identify personnel targets in complex environment, and the intersection ratio of lidar and camera fusion algorithm exceeds 95%. © 2020 ieee.

the localization is a crucial issue for underwater vehicles. In the paper, a lightweight visual-inertial odometry is proposed. With dual inertial sensors giving the information of acceleration and attitude, an optical camera providing the seabed images where feature points are tracked by an optical flow algorithm, linear motion of the vehicle can be obtained by computing coordinate transformations and in the fusion section, the control input is also considered. the computational complexity of the proposed method is reduced dramatically relative to other methodologies, and the optical flow algorithm can allow the system to work in poor context environment conditions. the results evaluated by practical experiments show that the method is an effective, low-cost solution for underwater localization.

Due to the limited resources of wireless sensor network nodes, they possess generally weak defense capabilities and are often the target of malware attacks. Attackers can capture or infect specific sensor nodes and propagation malware to other sensor nodes in WSNs through node communication. this can eventually infect an entire network system and even cause paralysis. Based on epidemiological theory, we propose a malware propagation model suitable for cluster-based WSNs to analyze the propagation dynamic of malware. the model focuses on the data transmission characteristics between different nodes in a cluster-based network and considers the actual application parameters of WSNs such as nodes communication radius, nodes distributed density and nodes death rate. In particular, we derive the basic reproductive number, equilibrium point and its stability of the model. We found that a basic reproductive number of less than 1 leads to the eventual disappearance of malware, which provides a deep insight into the design of defense strategies against such threats. We conducted numerical experiments to validate our theory and also examined the influence of WSN parameters on malware propagation. © 2020 ieee.

this paper is motivated by emerging edge computing systems which consist of sensor nodes that acquire and process information and then transmit status updates to an edge receiver for possible further processing. As power is a scarce resource at the sensor nodes, the system is modeled as a tandem computation-transmission queue with power-efficient computing. Jobs arrive at the computation server with rate A as a Poisson process with no available data buffer. the computation server can be in one of three states: (i) OFF: the server is turned off and no jobs are observed or processed, (ii) ON-Idle: the server is turned on but there is no job in the server, (iii) ON-Busy: the server is turned on and a job is processed in the server. these states cost zero, one and p(c) > 1 units of power, respectively. Under a long-term power constraint, the computation server switches from one state to another in sequence: first a deterministic T-o, time units in OFF state, then waiting for a job arrival in ON-Idle state and then in ON-Busy state for an independent identically distributed compute time duration. the transmission server has a single unit data buffer to save incoming packets and applies last come first serve with discarding as well as a packet deadline to discard a sitting packet for maintaining information freshness, which is measured by the Age of Information (AoI). Additionally, there is a monotonic functional relation between the mean time spent in ON-Busy state and the mean transmission time. We obtain closed-form expressions for average AoI and average peak AoI. Our numerical results illustrate various regimes of operation for best AoI performances optimized over packet deadlines with relation to power efficiency.
