In order to increase the accuracy of step counting value and the interest of running in fitness exercise, a embedded pedometer for fitness running system based on infrared photoelectric sensor, OLED display, MP3 module and STM8L embedded microprocessor is designed. In addition, the functions of hardware circuit and software program are realized. In this system, transmitter of infrared photoelectric sensor is electrified to continuously emit infrared light, and the receiver receives infrared light and converts it into electrical signal. the electrical signal is collected and counted by single chip microcomputer, and the result is displayed on the display screen. In addition, MP3 module is added to realize the function of playing music and voice prompt, which increases the entertainment nature of the system. the experimental results in different light conditions and stride frequency show that the system can achieve accurate counting values, and satisfy the normal use for jogging users.

Customer service in e-commerce businesses is one of the most essential aspects for business continuity, and a good communication service framework not only has a great influence in customer service staff's work efficiency, but can also reduce the operational cost of e-commerce enterprises. this paper proposes a communication service framework, called ACS-Communicator, to facilitate the communications in customer service. ACS-Communicator is a set of Internet distributed cluster architecture. It combines communication systems and customer service workbenches together, providing an integrated production solution for customer service. Based on the LVS technology, we separate the framework into media flow and signaling management, so that the system networking becomes more simple in capacity expansion. Our proposed framework is a software defined architecture, hence reducing the overall cost for businesses. We evaluate ACS-Communicator in a large call center within Alibaba Group, which is one of the largest call centers in the world. the experimental results show that ACS-Communicator can cover 99.99% communication service groups within Alibaba, can support over 500 enterprise users to provide communication services, can achieve a total call time of over 400,000 hours per day, and can achieve a high overload of 450 calls per second, when using the same computational machine resources as the existing framework (FreeSWITCH).

Since the robotic topic is evolving every day, and humans are in constant interaction with robots that use different sensors and different environment, it is needed to take into consideration the importance of sensor fusion for motion control. the method of sensor fusion consists of merging the data from different sensors to obtain more accurate data for object detection as well as parameters and statements required for the auto location, mapping, path planning, motion control, and motion execution. there are different ways to make possible the human-robot interaction, but no matter the concept implemented the safety of the human and the robot needs to be one of the priorities of the robotic system. In this paper the continuation of the research work is presented from the previously proposed robotic system. the robotic system is extended to include a safety controller and priority module. Also, the improved architecture will be able to receive commands from multiple human inputs, and it will determine which command will have the higher priority to be executed. the paper focuses on the continuation of the research work through detailed implementation, some test case scenarios and their results taking into consideration that the robot can execute a safety measure. the simulations are done using ROS and Gazebo.

In this paper, we study random gossip processes in communication models that describe the peer-to-peer networking functionality included in standard smartphone operating systems. these processes are well-understood in standard peer-to-peer network models, but little is known about their behavior in models that abstract the smartphone peer-to-peer setting. With this in mind, we begin by studying a simple random gossip process in the synchronous mobile telephone model (the most common abstraction used to study smartphone peer-to-peer systems). We prove that the simple process is actually more efficient than the best-known gossip algorithm in the mobile telephone model, which required complicated coordination among the nodes in the network. We then introduce a novel variation of the mobile telephone model that removes the synchronized round assumption, shrinking the gap between theory and practice. We prove that simple random gossip processes still converge in this setting and that information spreading still improves along with graph connectivity.

Renewable energy has the potential to lead humanity into a greener, more sustainable future. In this perspective, a system has been developed to help homes for performing effective management of power consumption and provision on demand supply of surplus energy to the societies powered by renewable energy sources. A low-cost prototype of Peer-to-Peer Solar Energy trading platform called 'Saur Sikka' is created. It enables users, who use their own Solar Energy harvesters with an opportunity to encash on the surplus energy. this paper presents a concept for the implementation of Peer-to-Peer energy network based on the circuit-switching framework. the proposed system also provides users with the ability to track and sell energy remotely using IoT architecture and cloud computing. It was observed that, the proposed system works effectively in the prototype setting, and it can be used to test the effects of real energy trading in a life scale model. the prototype serves as an effective guide to help us understand the complexities in building a Peer-to-Peer solar trading network. © 2020 ieee.

In this work, we propose Traffic Data Enrichment sensor (TraDES), towards a low-cost traffic sensor for Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) based on heterogeneous data fusion. TraDES aims at fusing data from vehicular traces with road traffic data to enrich current spatiotemporal traffic data. In that direction, we propose a robust methodology to group spatially and temporally these different data sources, producing a vehicular trace with its respective traffic conditions, which is given as input to a learning-based model based on Artificial Neural Networks (ANN). Hence, TraDES is an enriched traffic sensor that is able to sense (detect) traffic conditions using a scalable and low-cost approach and to increase the spatiotemporal traffic data coverage.

Today, camera networks are pervasively used in smart environments such as intelligent homes, industrial automation or surveillance. these applications often require cameras to be aware of their spatial neighbors or even to operate on a common ground plane. A major concern in the use of sensor networks in general is their robustness and reliability even in the presence of attackers. this paper addresses the challenge of detecting malicious nodes during the calibration phase of camera networks. Such a resilient calibration enables robust and reliable localization results and the elimination of attackers right after the network deployment. Specifically, we consider the problem of identifying subverted nodes which manipulate calibration data and can not be detected by standard cryptographic methods. the experiments in our network show that our self-calibration algorithm enables location-unknown cameras to successfully detect malicious nodes while autonomously calibrating the network.

As the age profile of various societies keeps going up all over the world, in addition to the continuous surge in the populace suffering from long term illnesses, including diabetes, hypertension, cardiovascular problems, obesity, etc. supporting and providing healthcare services, both physically and mentally, is of utmost importance in order to assure and maintain independent living. So, regular and uninterrupted health monitoring is evidently an assured and functional solution that can methodically deliver health-related services to elderly people and patients. the emergence of the sensor based technologies has given rise to immense possibilities in the domain of healthcare. Also, it has been adopted precisely in the construction and deployment of healthcare systems for effective regular health monitoring, illness diagnosis and further treatment. this paper proposes a semantic driven healthcare framework in which an ontology is developed that conceptualises the process of disease detection on the basis of dynamic sensed clinical data. the proposed system provides semantic interoperability by handling the issue of heterogeneity and promoting exchange of consensual knowledge. Our work designs reasoning rules over the semantic knowledge base for classification and disease detection task. Further, the model is validated by deploying semantic querying to retrieve desired results. the results portray the potential and efficiency of the proposed ontology based system to grow into a more sophisticated approach for healthcare monitoring and treatment. © 2020 ieee.

distributed Denial-of-Service attacks are a dramatically increasing threat to Internet-based services and connected devices. In the form of reflection attacks they are abusing other systems to perform the actual attack, often with an additional amplification factor. In this work we describe a reflection attack exploiting the industrial Message Queuing Telemetry Transport for sensor Networks (MQTT-SN) protocol, which theoretically allows to achieve an unlimited amplification rate. this poses a significant risk not only for the organizations which are running a MQTT-SN broker but also for possible targets of such DRDoS attacks. Countermeasures are limited as the underlying weakness is rooted in the specification of MQTT-SN itself. © 2020, Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

Executing analytics functionalities over data from highly distributed data sources and data streams is at the very core of the vast majority of Industrial Internet of things (IIoT) applications. State of the art streaming engines provide the means for high performance analytics over high velocity IIoT streams, yet they still need significant programming and customization efforts when deployed in heterogeneous industrial environments. this paper introduces a configurable engine for distributed data analytics for IIoT applications. the engine leverages the performance of state of the art data streaming middleware platforms, which it augments with a set of digital models for configuring DDA operations. As such the introduced engine reduces the effort needed to implement and deploy distributed data analytics in IIoT environments. the engine is available as open source software and has been validated in a various real-life IIoT applications in different environments.
