the increasing interconnectedness of our world has led to a growing demand for precise network monitoring and positioning solutions in various commercial sectors like asset management, indoor navigation, and security. Numerous existing multi-sensor fusion methods, including data-level, feature-level and traditional decision-level fusion strategies have been implemented for intelligent fault diagnosis in electromechanical drive systems. However, these approaches often are sensitive to poor data quality, ineffective classifiers and focused on single fault types, which leading to reduced accuracy, reliability and robustness of fault diagnosis. To overcome these limitations, this research developed a new intelligent fault diagnostic framework that integrated raw vibration and current data to improve fault diagnostic accuracy, reliability and robustness for electromechanical drive systems in complex fault scenarios. this framework included two enhanced one dimensional convolutional neural network (1D-CNN) models optimized for feature extraction and a stacking-based decision-level fusion method that effectively fuses the outputs of these two models. Experimental results showed that this innovative framework achieves an impressive 100.00% average fault classification accuracy across two datasets, significantly outperforming traditional fusion methods. these findings demonstrate the framework's potential to significantly improve the accuracy, robustness and reliability of fault diagnosis in electromechanical drive systems in complex fault scenarios, paving the way for more resilient industrial operations. © 2024 ieee.

Energy conservation is an indispensable aspect of the protocols designed for Wireless sensor Networks (WSNs). the communication protocols for WSN fall mainly under two categories: centralized and distributed. Centralized protocols are not feasible for real-world WSNs as the network can span across large areas where most of the nodes cannot directly communicate with the base station (BS). the routing issues in such networks can be addressed using multi-hop protocols. However, the process of BS guided clustering in such methods cannot be performed. distributed clustering methods that minimize the intervention of BS in clustering can provide feasible solutions in such cases, but the energy expenditure is considerably high. this paper, hence, proposes a hybrid clustering based routing protocol for large WSN that employs certain aspects of centralized as well as that of distributed protocols. Experimental evaluation of the proposed protocol in terms of network lifetime gives promising results that clearly indicate the energy efficiency and consistency of the proposed work in different scenarios. the proposed work can prove beneficial in real-life scenarios where the deployed nodes are far away from the BS. © 2025 the Authors. New wearable technologies come with high requirements for miniaturization and flexibility, which are usually restricted by rigid batteries. Capacitive power transfer and communication, employing the human body as a conductive medium enables energy-efficient communication and even the possibility to achieve battery-lesswearable sensors distributed on the body. this work presents as a proof-of-concept a complete system consisting of a custom-designed on-body transmitter and battery-less receiver and evaluates the power transmitted and the range achieved. We demonstrate the applicability of our prototype to a real-life scenario as a glucose level tracker even in realistic non-perfect grounding conditions. the realized design offers a power transmission of up to 2.5mW at distances of 15 cm and 5.5 mu W at 125 cm, showing the possibility of battery-less on-body edge computing applications.

In recent years, the use of various biometric technologies has seen exponential growth for biometric recognition and authentication. this expansion is due to the widespread adoption of biometric systems on a day-to-day basis. However, unlike credit cards and passwords, which can be revoked and reissued in the event of a compromise, biometric data is permanently associated with a user and cannot be replaced. this article focuses on the security of biometric data on devices that use cancellable biometrics technology. the crucial importance of protecting biometric information is discussed and a comparison is made with other authentication methods, whether traditional, biological or auxiliary. In addition, it delves into current biometric authentication technologies, highlighting the relevance of various non-invertible or cancellable biometric template protection schemes. these schemes are evaluated based on the risks associated with the security and privacy of biometric data, including identity theft. On the other hand, the use of cancellable methods to evaluate authentication queries and compare biometric information in a protected environment is mentioned. the critical importance of exercising caution when comparing different non-investable biometric template protection schemes is underlined, especially based on reported performance outcomes, given their considerable influence on the security and privacy of biometric data.

the paper proposes approach to use new tools for malware detection in corporate networks, which are distributed systems with partial centralization. To make decision about malware presence, the components which includes specified decision-making for the system's center are defined as a decentralized subsystem. To determine the states of the system components, characteristic indicators are proposed, and generalized analytical expressions for their calculation are developed. Such calculations make it possible to assess the state of the components in the system in order to determine its further steps. As a result, the system is the basis for usage of different malware detection methods in combination with the system components as an integral sensor. To test the system, a worm-virus detection method was implemented and experiments were conducted. the results of experimental studies approved the efficiency of the proposed solution. © 2023 ieee.

the resource-constrained task scheduling problem has been one of the popular research topics in cloud computing systems. By employing the dynamic voltage and frequency scaling (DVFS) techniques, the task scheduling can be further constrained by energy consumption. the paper investigates the DAG task scheduling considering both the resource and energy constraints in heterogeneous distributed systems. the objective is to minimize the scheduling length. An energy-constrained task scheduling framework is employed, where tasks are initially scheduled according to their upward rank values. then two heuristics are proposed to improve the initial solution, namely, the simulated annealing local search method and the frequency adjustment method. Experiments are conducted by testing a large number of instances with multiple parameter settings, and the results show that the proposed algorithms are effective and efficient. © 2023 ieee.

In this paper, we explore the implications of cloud- based platforms for agricultural data management and decision support systems, including the benefits, drawbacks, and potential developments. Cloud computing has thus played a very big role in promoting efficiency and productivity in agriculture through providing better data storage, data processing, and better decision making tools. From the review of the various platforms it was realized that the cloud solutions enhance the data management and decision support that can lead to better and faster decisions in the agricultural sector. However, there are some drawbacks, for example, data protection issues, issues of compatibility with other platforms, relatively high costs of the implementation, and the need for standardization of the data. these limitations can be considered as the factors which do not allow using the full potential of cloud-based solutions in agriculture. the study therefore recommends more research to deal with these challenges especially on the improvements in security, the integration of AI and machine learning in the system and the improvement on the costs for the smallholder farmers. Also, the problem of integrating data standards across the cloud and enhancing the compatibility of systems is of great importance to enhance the overall efficiency of cloud services. Further work in these directions is important to overcome present drawbacks and to enhance the prospects of cloud technologies in agriculture. this paper has discussed the challenges facing the agricultural sector to adopt the cloud-based platforms, thus, if these challenges are to be solved, the agricultural sector can be in a better position to improve the management of resources, sustainability and overall agricultural performance. © 2024 ieee.

Scaling the size of monolithic quantum computer systems is a difficult task. As the number of qubits within a device increases, a number of factors contribute to decreases in yield and performance. To meet this challenge, distributed architectures composed of many networked quantum computers have been proposed as a viable path to scalability. Such systems will need algorithms and compilers that are tailored to their distributed architectures. In this work we introduce the Quantum Divide and Conquer Algorithm (QDCA), a hybrid variational approach to mapping large combinatorial optimization problems onto distributed quantum architectures. this is achieved through the combined use of graph partitioning and quantum circuit cutting. the QDCA, an example of application-compiler co-design, alters the structure of the variational ansatz to tame the exponential compilation overhead incurred by quantum circuit cutting. the result of this cross-layer co-design is a highly flexible algorithm which can be tuned to the amount of classical or quantum computational resources that are available, and can be applied to both near- and long-term distributed quantum ar-chitectures. We simulate the QDCA on instances of the Maximum Independent Set problem and find that it is able to outperform similar classical algorithms. We also evaluate an 8-qubit QDCA ansatz on a superconducting quantum computer and show that circuit cutting can help to mitigate the effects of noise. Our work demonstrates how many small-scale quantum computers canwork together to solve problems 85 % larger than their own qubit count, motivating the development and potential of large-scale distributed quantum computing. © 2023 ieee.

Crowd sensing is a way to obtain multiple sensing data onto users or mobile devices and is widely used in industrial Internet, smart city, smart medical, etc. However, when users upload sensing data involving sensitive information such as a user identity and location, there will be risks of data privacy leakage and user tracking. For the problem of this scenario, we propose a blockchain-based pseudonym generation mechanism, which uses pseudonyms to realize user anonymity and user identity authentication. the average speed of pseudonym generation and authentication in the simulation experiment is about 0.1s, the experimental results verify the availability and effectiveness of the distributed pseudonym mechanism. © 2021 ieee.
