Mobility management is crucial for urban planning, and accurate road condition information is necessary for safe and efficient transportation. In the context of this study, mobility refers to the quality of the road and the level of service provided to road users. To this end and to advance the state-of-the-art in improving mobility management strategies, we propose a new capability for our ongoing work on the Decentralized Road Traffic Monitoring (DRTM) system: road conditions assessment, aimed at enhancing mobility management for Abu Dhabi city. Our DRTM system uses smartphone cameras, Vehicular Ad-hoc Networks (VANETs) on vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) mode, and federated learning to extract and classify road features, such as potholes, cracks, and accidents, impacting overall mobility. the system comprises a smartphone app and a decentralized network of participants, providing real-time insights about road conditions. Our experimental results demonstrate the system's effectiveness in providing precise and up-to-date information about road conditions, with increased scalability and efficiency compared to centralized methods. By utilizing federated learning, the system ensures data security and privacy.

Equivalent circuit models for fuel cell stacks as well as for the series connection of battery cells are characterized by multiple series-connected RC sub-networks. In practical applications, for example, when aiming at the aging detection and monitoring of the individual cells in a fuel cell stack, it is desired to estimate the individual state variables of each of these series-connected cells. the same holds true for battery management systems that are dedicated to the state of charge (resp., voltage) equalization in a series connection of multiple battery cells. However, the pure knowledge of the current through this series connection as well as the sum over all terminal voltages is insufficient to make the overall system model fully observable. To efficiently observe the state variables in each of the series-connected subsystems, we aim at avoiding the measurement of the voltages of each individual fuel (resp., battery) cell. Instead, this paper presents a systematic sensor switching strategy which allows for estimating the individual state variables of all series-connected subsystems in an Unscented Kalman Filter framework. Simulation results are presented to compare the achievable estimation accuracy with a scenario in which all cell (resp., terminal) voltages were measured simultaneously. © 2023 ieee.

Taking distributed power grid emergency communication device as the research object, combined with 5G communication technology, the key technologies of distributed power grid emergency communication device based on 5G communication are studied. the 5G power emergency communication device adopts wireless broadband multi-network convergence technology, interference suppression method, service QoS guarantee method and security technology. In terms of communication mechanism, it can not only achieve compatibility between 5G and 4G, support network optimization, but also achieve the convergence between the operator's public network and 4G power wireless private network. the scheme ensures the quality of transmission service and realizes the secure transmission of data. © 2022 ieee.

Identifying influence-maximizing (IM) nodes is an effective strategy for designing efficient communication networks or contain the spreading of information for rumors and epidemics with limited budgets. With the growing of the sizes of the social networks, finding solutions to the problem of intfuence - maximizing vertices becomes more and more challenging. Tra-ditionally, the number of users finally affected was the focus. However, the information diffusion speed was becoming a bottle-neck of IM problems. In this paper, we proposed a locality-aware vertex selection strategy based on local isolation centrality (LIC), while the information diffusion experiments used the Independent Cascade (IC) model. the computing scheme was implemented by a distributed graph computing framework. the superiority of the LIC algorithm was confirmed by evaluated on three real-world datasets. It was indistinguishable from algorithms such as K-shell, H-index, degree centrality (DC), local centrality (LC), and VoteRank at the diffusion cascade scale. But it showed better superiority in diffusion speed. More importantly, by comparing LIC with the VoteRank algorithm, which was the closest algorithm on diffusion speed to that of LIC, the huge advantage of the LIC algorithm in terms of time cost was found. We believe that the locality-aware LIC algorithm was more suitable for the influence-maximization problem in very large-scale social networks. © 2022 ieee.

Wireless sensor Network (WSN) equipped with Internet of things (IoT) technology has been used in many aspects ranging from long-distance data transmission to healthcare, smart city and home automation applications. As part of WSN, a Hotspot node provides vital link between IoTs in heterogeneous networks and other remote networks. Hotspot nodes are used to bridge the gap between communication networks, providing an IPv4 address and establishing point-to-point (or multipoint-to-point) connectivity between the various IoTs and/or remote networks. In this paper, we discuss the performance of Hotspot nodes failure, recovery and its impact on the system performance. the impact of Hotspot redundancy and load balancing on system performance is also discussed. Finally, based on the results, the authors suggests various techniques and methods for improving the performance of Hotspot nodes. © 2023 ieee.

In a microgrid, distributed energy resources (DERs) can supply energy for consumers. How to schedule energy between DERs and consumers and reduce the dependence on the main power grid is of extreme importance for a microgrid. In this paper, a multi-round double auction mechanism is proposed to achieve coordinated and optimal energy dispatch, which allows multiple sellers to trade energy with multiple buyers through adjusting prices dynamically in each round until the buyers' bids are not less than the sellers' asks. Different from existing auctions, the excessive energy of one seller can be divided and traded to multiple buyers, and one buyer can purchase the energy from multiple sellers. the simulation results show that the proposed mechanism significantly reduces auction rounds and the dependence on the main power grid and improves auction utility when compared with the existing double auction. © 2021 ieee.

the electrical distribution system (DS) is currently facing challenges such as poor system efficiency resulting from high I2R losses and a degraded voltage profile, due to the substantial increase in load demand and rapid adoption of plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs). the rapid growth in population is a significant contributing factor to the increase in power demand. Consequently, DS operators are exploring various alternatives to fulfill the increasing power demand. To overcome from these issues, locally integrate the distributed generator (DG) into the DS. DG technology has recently garnered significant attention from researchers due to its considerable technological advantages in addressing these issues. It is very necessary to optimally allocate the DG within the DS to enhance network performance and reliability. In this paper presents definition, classification of DGs and a concise review of the different methodologies and strategies for the optimal allocation of DGs within DS. Emphasizing recent advancements and applications, it provides insights into the environmental, economic and technical advantages of DG integration. It examines various methodologies, including analytical, numerical, meta-heuristic, and hybrid approaches, for determining the most effective allocation and sizing of DGs. this paper discusses and compares several optimization techniques for optimal approach of DGs allocation in DS, to enhance the system efficiency and reliability. © 2024 ieee.

Integrated energy systems represented by electric-thermal coupling systems have the characteristics of efficient energy utilization and environmental friendliness. they are a new force in energy reform and can effectively realize the interconnectedness of multiple energy sources. the power and heating systems in the electric-thermal coupling system are under the jurisdiction of different business units, and are independently dispatched and optimized by the power dispatch center and the heating dispatch center. therefore, traditional centralized optimization dispatch algorithms are not suitable for the production needs of the actual situation. ADMM(Alternative Direction Multiplier Method, ADMM), as an alternative algorithm, can not only meet the requirements of independent scheduling of various energy objects, but also meet the requirements of modern wireless communication transmission networks for exchanging boundary information. However, the effectiveness of ADMM is constrained by factors such as communication costs. To address this deficiency, this paper proposes a distributed optimal scheduling of a typical integrated energy system considering communication cost. distributed computing is based on the ADMM framework, and a communication audit mechanism is embedded in the data exchange process. Finally, through case analysis, the effectiveness of the improved ADMM with embedded communication audit mechanism is verified, which can reduce communication frequency and cost. © 2023 ieee.

With the widespread integration of distributed photovoltaic power generation systems into the distribution network, traditional load modeling methods are no longer able to accurately describe their dynamic characteristics. the article introduces the current research status of synthesis load model, including the modeling of distribution networks containing distributed photovoltaics. Based on this, a dynamic equivalent model of distribution networks is established that comprehensively considers the dynamic characteristics of load and distributed photovoltaic power generation systems. Firstly, the load model of the equivalent photovoltaic power generation system is connected to the virtual bus of the synthesis load model, thereby establishing a generalized load model for the distribution network;Afterwards, important parameters were screened using the dynamic trajectory sensitivity method, and key parameter identification based on particle swarm optimization algorithm was achieved on the MATLAB/Simulink simulation platform, completing the equivalence of the distribution network. Finally, the simulation results show that the proposed distribution network dynamic equivalent model can accurately describe the dynamic characteristics of distributed photovoltaic power generation systems widely integrated into the distribution network. More importantly, in the background of distributed photovoltaic power generation system widely connected to the distribution network, the dynamic equivalence of the distribution network provides a guarantee for the fast and accurate transient simulation calculation of the transmission network. © 2023 ieee.

In a Loss of Coolant Accident (LOCA), reactor core temperatures can rise rapidly, leading to potential fuel damage and radioactive material release. this research presents a groundbreaking method that combines the power of Monte Carlo Sampling and Physics-Informed Neural Networks (PINNs) to simulate and effectively address the challenging Loss of Coolant Accidents (LOCA) in nuclear reactors. In the event of a LOCA, reactor core temperatures can soar rapidly, posing a significant threat to fuel integrity and potentially leading to the release of radioactive materials. By leveraging the strengths of both Monte Carlo Sampling and PINNs, this approach aims to provide a comprehensive and accurate simulation framework for assessing and mitigating the consequences of such accidents. the method yields high prediction accuracy (MAE: 0.033, RMSE: 0.098, R2: 0.814) and demonstrates robustness through transfer learning, maintaining strong performance (MAE: 0.064, RMSE: 0.163, R2: 0.735). © 2024 ieee.
