Simultaneous Localization and Mapping (SLAM) is a popular research topic in robotics and its key technology with very promising application scenarios. In recent years, feature point-based vision SLAM schemes have become relatively mature. However, the performance of such algorithms decreases dramatically when feature points are sparse or unevenly distributed. Vision sensors are prone to missing feature points in short-time fast motion or texture-free regions, which cannot guarantee good feature tracking and positional estimation performance. the inertial measurement unit (IMU) can well compensate for this deficiency and the vision sensor information also happens to correct for the effect of IMU drift. Visual inertial odometry is gradually becoming an important research direction in the field of SLAM for mobile robots by virtue of its high accuracy, high complementarity, and high robustness which combines data from both camera and IMU sensors. this paper deals with binocular vision localization with multi-sensor fusion in the scenario of electric power inspection. the two localization and navigation methods of vision and inertia are highly complementary and the fusion of the two can improve the accuracy of the system which is of great research value and significance. © 2023 ieee.

the accuracy of the neural networks can usually be improved by increasing the size of the dataset and the layers or operators of the network, as it has strong composability. But, it makes a challenge to train these models efficiently, due to the limited resources of a single device, such as memory, computational resource and so on. For this challenge, it has become an inevitable trend to automatically implement model parallelism across multiple devices. this paper proposes Aware, an adaptive distributed parallel training method, to search distributed parallel strategy automatically for deep learning model. It firstly proposes an operator fusion strategy with computation and communication awareness to simplify the computational graph of deep learning model. And then, it introduces position-aware graph embedding algorithm to extract the structural features of models, which can make the searched parallel strategies to transplant to other networks with similar structures. On this basis, we use reinforcement learning algorithm to search distributed parallel strategy automatically. this paper makes experiments with neural networks such as Inception V3, NMT, GNM, NasNet and ResNet, and uses CIFAR10 and PTB datasets to compare the two methods of Hierarchical and Placeto. the results show that compared with Placeto, Aware achieves up to 5% reductions in runtime. Aware achieves more than 8% reductions in runtime compared with Hierarchical. Moreover, it has better transplantation and generalization capabilities, and supports pre-training for large-scale network parallel strategy search and accelerates convergence. © 2022 ieee.

this work presents an energy transaction management model that allows visualizing the energy balance behavior over the course of a year, considering photovoltaic generation and an industrial-type demand for distributed generation systems in medium voltage electrical grids. the model is based on the guidelines of Regulation No. ARCERNNR-001/2021 of Ecuador, and photovoltaic generation is estimated using stochastic simulation. the model enables the generation of production and consumption scenarios, thus visualizing the energy balance behavior. Additionally, the impact on electrical parameters is shown with the incorporation of distributed generation into a grid, considering two scenarios: one where the photovoltaic system is connected at the same point as the demand, and another where it is connected at a different point but within the same grid. the modeling provides a perspective on energy behavior, both in terms of energy balance and electrical parameters, demonstrating improvements in economic aspects and grid strengthening. It ensures that the incorporation of distributed generation is appropriate, viable, and feasible. © 2023 ieee.

distributed systems use consistent hashing algorithms to solve load balancing problems because of their good balance, minimal interruptions, and high query rates. However, existing algorithms fail to maintain consistency under changes, require high memory for high query rates, or have poor scaling. therefore, we propose consistent AreaHash, which virtualizes the hash space into a ring. the logically ordered ring nodes occupy the same area, allowing the AreaHash to expand the nodes without any change. the key calculated using the hashing algorithm can be mapped to a node by a simple shift calculation, reducing memory requirements. We make a reasonable theoretical analysis and perform high-level algorithm implementation with a memory footprint of only a few bytes per node. Experimental results indicate that AreaHash achieves a lookup rate of more than 40 million keys per second, even when the number of nodes on a single CPU exceeds one million. In addition, a lookup rate of more than 20 million keys per second is achieved when more than half of the nodes in the cluster are down. © 2022 ieee.

In addressing the significant challenges caused by the expansion of data storage needs in blockchain systems, this paper explores the integration of the InterPlanetary File System (IPFS) with Substrate-based blockchain. By leveraging IPFS for off-chain storage and Substrate for on-chain operations, this system addresses the key challenges such as bloated storage, inefficiency, and accessibility while preserving data distribution and privacy. through a comparative analysis with an Ethereum-based system, this study reveals significant advantages of the Substrate-IPFS solution. there is a significant reduction in data storage size and faster block confirmation times, leading to potentially lower transaction costs. the proposed approach enhances data privacy through the use of the Blake2 hashing algorithm. Overall, this research showcases the potential of Substrate-IPFS integration in overcoming the limitations of traditional blockchain storage approaches. Further exploration into the storage cost optimisation within the Substrate framework and additional functionalities using modular pallets could pave the way for significant advancements in the distributed data storage. © 2024 ieee.

With the growing development of renewable energy sources (RES), it is more challenge for the frequency adjustment of power system due to the randomness and volatility. this paper investigates a control scheme based on the adaptive dynamic programming (ADP) for the frequency control of an islanded microgrid considering RES. A frequency controller is designed to adjust the output power of micro-turbine when photovoltaic (PV) power generation and wind power generation are both connected into the microgrid. Moreover, the changes of load demand are also taken into consideration. Finally, simulations are provided to verify the performance of our method compared with other methods.

Infusion therapy plays a crucial role in delivering medications and fluids to patients, but it often requires close monitoring and manual intervention by healthcare providers. the InfuCare system addresses these challenges by integrating IoT-enabled devices and advanced analytics to enable remote monitoring, control, and optimization of infusion processes. At its core, the InfuCare system consists of IoT-enabled infusion pumps equipped with sensors to monitor parameters such as flow rate, pressure, and volume infused. these pumps communicate with a central monitoring platform via IoT connectivity modules, transmitting real-time data on infusion progress and patient status. A drip rate monitoring device can be used to measure the rate of intravenous infusion. there is now a wireless drip rate monitoring gadget available. In order to detect the drops, this gadget uses Ultrasonic TX (UTX) and Ultrasonic RX (URX). the sensor was installed to the drip chamber using a mountable clasp mechanism. the device determines the drip rate using a microprocessor, and when the drip rate goes outside of the predetermined range, the Wi-Fi connection module wirelessly alerts the central monitoring station. the technology guarantees real-time tracking of drip infusion parameters in this virtual environment, including accurate fluid level readings and physiological response monitoring. the smooth communication in the simulated environment made possible by the integration with Node MCU illustrates the design's potential for developing an intelligent and networked healthcare infrastructure. IR sensor, DHT11, and HBR/SPO2 are used for remotely tracking human health care. © 2024 ieee.

Cardiac arrest claims the lives of many people among us. Recent years have seen an increase in cases of cardiac arrest while driving. this is a result of their diet, advanced age, lack of exercise, and numerous other factors. Cardiovascular arrest is the main cause of death in today's world. A serious medical emergency like cardiac arrest needs to be attended to right away. Cardiac arrest is difficult to recognize, and male and female cardiac arrest symptoms differ. this study develops a novel system to combat and defend our society against heart diseases and attacks. Utilizing this system requires riding a motorbike. It tracks the user's heart rate using a heart rate sensor, and in the event of a cardiac arrest, it alerts the user's family and emergency contacts. Additionally, it averts potential tragedies. As the cause is identified earlier by this system, the victim may also be spared from a potentially fatal accident. © 2023 ieee.

this paper endeavors to accomplish Level 4 and Level 5 self-driving by devising a design architecture for cloud-based self-driving vehicles. It incorporates a hybrid positioning navigation method [24, 25] and diverse sensing systems [9, 5, 7, 27] to capture precise environmental information, along with Inertial Measurement Unit (IMU) sensors and wheel odometry to complement other sensors and improve positioning accuracy and stability [26, 27, 25]. the architecture utilizes a combination of Vehicular Ad hoc Network (VANET), Internet of Vehicles (IoV), and in-vehicle millimeter wave systems for high-level information communication [9, 8]. To enable real-time monitoring, analysis, and application of vehicle data, the architecture leverages cloud computing, particularly the Amazon Web Services (AWS) platform [10, 11], and takes into account data security risks. the research in this paper is important for promoting the development of autonomous driving technology and provides valuable references for research and practical applications in related fields. © 2023 ieee.

In current Datacenter Networks (DCNs), Equal-Cost Multipath (ECMP) is a default load balancing scheme. However, using ECMP may result in rapid growth of Flow Completion Time (FCT) due to its well-known drawbacks. In order to solve the problem of ECMP, load balancing schemes with per-packet granularity (such as RPS) and per-flowlet granularity (such as LetFlow) are proposed. these two different granularities have their own features, but there's no existing load balancing considering both their advantages. In this paper, we mix per-flowlet and per-packet in scheduling decisions and introduce the potential performance bottleneck in mixed granularities load balancing. Based on this idea, we propose a hybrid scheme for load balancing, referred to as BOBBLE. the key idea of BOBBLE is to distinguish elephant and mouse flows and schedule them with different granularity. We evaluate BOBBLE in simulations with NS-3. Experiment shows that BOBBLE slightly sacrifices elephant flows FCT but it is worthy because our results demonstrate that BOBBLE is a good trade-off which outperforms RPS and LetFlow in mouse flows FCT in both symmetric and asymmetric topology. © 2021 ieee.
