distributed cyber-infrastructures and Artificial Intelligence (AI) are transformative technologies that will play a pivotal role in the future of society and the scientific community. Internet of things (IoT) applications harbor vast quantities of connected devices that collect a massive amount of sensitive information (e.g., medical, financial), which is usually analyzed either at the edge or federated cloud systems via AI/Machine Learning (ML) algorithms to make critical decisions (e.g., diagnosis). It is of paramount importance to ensure the security, privacy, and trustworthiness of data collection, analysis, and decision-making processes. However, system complexity and increased attack surfaces make these applications vulnerable to system breaches, single-point of failures, and various cyber-attacks. Moreover, the advances in quantum computing exacerbate the security and privacy challenges. that is, emerging quantum computers can break conventional cryptographic systems that offer cyber-security services, public key infrastructures, and privacy-enhancing technologies. therefore, there is a vital need for new cyber-security paradigms that can address the resiliency, long-term security, and efficiency requirements of distributed cyber infrastructures. In this work, we propose a vision of distributed architecture and cyber-security framework that uniquely synergizes secure computation, Physical Quantum Key Distribution (PQKD), NIST Post-Quantum Cryptography (PQC) efforts, and AI/ML algorithms to achieve breach-resilient, functional and efficient cyber-security services. At the heart of our proposal lies a new Multi-Party Computation Quantum Network Core (MPC-QNC) that enables fast and yet quantum-safe execution of distributed computation protocols via integration of PQKD infrastructure and hardwareacceleration elements. Due to the mismatch between the time-varying energy demand profiles and intermittent and fluctuating renewable energy supply, the excessive redundancy or severely deficiency planning results of the distributed renewable energy system typically emerge. this study develops a parameter-based model for the demand of electricity, space heating or cooling, and hot water in buildings. the impact of the energy demand profiles on the results of the planning problem is investigated based on a typical distributed renewable energy system. the numerical results demonstrate that there are significant differences between the energy demand profiles of different categories of public buildings in terms of demand level, variability, and volatility. Furthermore, the annualized capital and operating costs for the distributed renewable energy system significantly vary depending on the demand patterns and characteristics, sometimes by an order of magnitude, highlighting the significance of the demand profiles for the planning problem.

Home energy management system (HEMS) autonomously schedules the energy usage of home electricity consuming devices to reduce the electricity cost based on real-time electricity price. However, it is very challenging to design an optimal energy management strategy under the uncertainty of the resident's behavior, outdoor temperature and renewable generation. To solve this problem, a real-time demand response (DR) strategy based on deep reinforcement learning (DRL) is proposed. Firstly, the real-time DR management problem is modeled as a Markov game, and then a home energy management algorithm is proposed based on Multi-Agent Twin Delayed Deep Deterministic Policy Gradient (MATD3). It is worth mentioning that the proposed algorithm builds the thermal dynamics model and takes energy storage system (ESS) into account, which improves the utilization of renewable power generation effectively. the simulation result based on real-world data demonstrates the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm. © 2021 ieee.

Proper rain image generation is important to assess the safety of autonomous perception system in rainy environment and improve perception performance. Rain image generation methods for autonomous driving vision sensors have become a research hotspot. the diversity of data can be extended and the performance of vision-based perception can be improved by effective real rain image generation. Although recent deep learning-based image generation of real rain has good performance, it is still an open problem for autonomous driving scenarios. Firstly, the existing rain images dataset only considers the streak characteristics produced by rain in modeling real rain features, and does not consider the interference of raindrops and fog on the image. Secondly, the distribution of the generated rain streaks, raindrops and fog lacks the influence of physical characteristics brought about by vehicle speed, rainfall and gravity during vehicle operation. Moreover, the lack of a real-time and efficient method for generating realistic raindrop images makes data enhancement and safety testing of sensing systems challenging. To solve the problem of real rain images generation for autonomous driving scenarios, we propose an efficient data generation method that combines physical properties and robot operating system to realize real-time generation of real rain for dynamic scenes and real-time data publish. © 2024 ieee.

Data Distribution Service (DDS) is a widely-used middleware for data transmission in distributed real-time applications, such as autonomous vehicles and robotics. However, the communication of existing DDS middlewares generally relies on the network stacks of the operating system, which brings long latency to the real-time applications. In this paper, we propose a DPDK-based DDS, dubbed 3DS, to improve the performance of communication of DDS middlewares. First, 3DS reduces the latency of communication between distributed real-time applications by avoiding the latency of kernel. Second, 3DS reduces the overhead of dynamic memory allocation and deallocation by a reserved memory pool. Finally, 3DS adopts a thread-exclusive CPU model to reduce the resource contention between threads. We implement and evaluate 3DS on real systems running Linux. the experimental results show that 3DS reduces 44% of the communication latency over FastDDS, which is the state-of-the-art DDS middleware used by ROS2. Moreover, the throughput of data transfer in 3DS can be 1.51 times that of FastDDS. © 2022 ieee.

In a variety of crucial applications, wireless sensor networks (WSNs) are being deployed regularly as the new speed-accelerating technology. Network efficiency and safety may be directly and physically impacted by any harm or vulnerability to data security. Key management, identification, and trust management in wireless sensing networks is one of the active study fields (WSN). It can be challenging to decide which key management strategies in a particular WSN application are optimal because researchers have offered a variety of protection schemes. this research study has thoroughly analysed the characteristics of various trust management, identity, and key management techniques as well as their potential applications to specific applications. Based on this review, the previously recommended methodology and advantages of the key management, verification, and trust systems in WSN are described. this study is finally concluded by describing potential future directions for IoT security, including the lack of organised adaptable algorithms for encryption, the use of algorithms based on machine learning to enhance security and related challenges, and the use of blockchain technology to deal with threats in IoT. © 2023 ieee.

Network devices use communication protocols to transfer information by physical or wireless technologies, including routers and access points. Networking components are used to software monitor, manage and secure the network. the router is quite trained by the use of reinforcement learning which can make all the hardest decisions for making algorithms. Routing selects Internet Protocol(IP) paths, also known as Internet Protocol, and those packages are sent from their starting point. Routers can make the decision to route packets along with the network paths. An innovative routing system for Flying AdHoc Network(FANET) is provided by an enhanced form of AnthocNet. Dynamic routing protocols are more efficient in medium and large networks because they require most of the computing power, which is why smaller networks rely on the static routing protocol. In this study, routing algorithms, dynamic routing networks, Unmanned Aerial Vehicle(UAV) protocol, Routing Protocol(RPL) in the security of networks, and Flying Ad hoc networks are discussed. © 2023 ieee.

Harmonic resonant between grid-connected-converter (GCI) and long-transmission-cable (LTC) is challenging the stability and power quality of renewable energy sources. In this paper, infinite-cells model (IMC) is selected to approximate the characteristics of LTC for good approximation to all frequency performance. Reconstructed impedance based stability analysis (RISA) based bode plots is applied to analyze influence of parameter on stability between GCI and IMC. System exists periodic alternating between stability and instability as the length of LTC increases. the simulation results are depicted to demonstrate the correctness of theoretical analysis.

Merging blockchain technology into Federated Learning makes a novel approach to boost security, trust, and scalability, which are critical questions about the formation of distributed machine learning. this given industry study examines which obstacles are and possible ways of mitigating them to implement blockchain technology in such settings and attempts to solve the primary weakness of distributed learning exhibited. this is supported by our study concerning the experimental approach with an emphasis on security policy changes indicated by our results. We were able to find the risk sources 25% up, and we were able to prevent the everyday common data leaks and model poisoning risks. Also, the jump from 70 to 95 security scores shows that providers have significantly improved their cybersecurity. the integration process, however, brings along a computational overhead, which can be estimated from the 9 0% performance reduction from which the system efficiency score alters from 90 to 75. the designed framework increases scaling-level issues and trust among people groups. Scalability ratings have been improved from 80 to 85. Trust metrics, however, are now 30% higher, which took the metrics from 60 to 90. these statistical data show clearly that in the pursuit of security and trust, tradeoffs may arise in the form of increased computational resources. the tut gives a good reason for using blockchain technology in the FL model. It provides a comprehensive description of both pros and cons. It proposes principles that can be followed in subsequent research to advance and strengthen the system's resilience in conjunction with its operation. the research that is covered in this paper contributes a new framework to the volatile subject of safe and scalable machine learning. this framework is designed to elevate the trustworthiness and reliability of distributed learning systems. © 2024 ieee.
