distributed User Interfaces (DUIs) are those interfaces whose different parts can be distributed in time and space on different monitors, screens, and computing platforms, depending on several parameters expressing the context of use, such as the user, the computing platform, and the physical environment in which the user is carrying out her interactive task. To understand and classify existing approaches for DUIs and to identify underexplored situations of DUA, a reference model for DUIs is introduced that examines DUIs according to four 'C' dimensions: computation (what is distributed?), communication (when is it distributed?), coordination (who is it distributed?), and configuration (from where and to where is the distribution operated?). At the core of this reference model exists the original notion of user interface habitat, that is the place where a particular type of user interface is normally found. According to this notion, it is possible to explore and investigate a wide spectrum of DUIs among which we exemplify several cases coming from our existing research and development of DUIs.

Model predictive control (MPC) has been considered as the most important development in the area of process control in the last two decades. this paper addresses the issue of controlling a nonlinear plant by the use of the nonlinear model predictive control formulation. To handle the nonlinearities, a Takagi-Sugeno neuro-fuzzy model is suggested as a means to model the plant with nonlinearities depending on the operating region. the developed model is used as a predictive model for a parallel distributed model predictive control algorithm. In this paper, the parallel distributed neuro-fuzzy model predictive controller has been proposed to control a non-linear control system of a hydro, turbine generator. the proposed technique has been tested and evaluated using this simulated industrial plant.

To ensure the desired performance of a wireless sensor network, the reliability of the network records needs to be evaluated using an efficient data processing algorithm. In this paper, a new application of a bio-inspired technique is introduced for autonomous plausibility checking in a wireless sensor network;at first, an optimized Neuro-immune system is introduced and developed to predict the sensor records;then, performance of the proposed Neuro-immune system is compared with a neural network approximation mechanism. A secondary algorithm evaluates the sensor records to check the plausibility of the records in the wireless sensor network. the proposed data processing algorithm could serve in various applications of wireless sensor networks.

In this paper, an algorithm of coverage control is introduced for three-dimensional underwater wireless sensor networks based on uniform deployment on surface which is suitable for water environment monitoring of wetland. sensor nodes are uniformly deployed on surface of monitoring waters with equal interval. After deployment, sensors are lowered to appropriate depths selected by the distributed algorithm such that the maximum three-dimensional coverage of underwater sensor space is maintained. For the maximization of comprehensive index composed of coverage and average distance, simulation results reveal that our scheme outperforms two- and one-dimensional random deployment and depth random deployment under different network scale.

this paper proposes a novel hybrid cryptographic scheme for the generation of pair-wise network topology authenticated (TAK) keys in a Wireless sensor Network (WSN) using vector algebra in GF(q). the proposed scheme is deterministic, pair-wise keys are not pre-distributed but generated starting from partial key components, keys management exploits benefits from both symmetric and asymmetric schemes (hybrid cryptography) and each key in a pair node can be generated only if nodes have been authenticated (key authentication). Network topology authentication, and hybrid key cryptography are the building blocks for this proposal: the former means that a cryptographic key can be generated if and only if the current network topology is compliant to the "planned network topology", which acts as the authenticated reference;the latter means that the proposed scheme is a combination of features from symmetric (for the ciphering and authentication model) and asymmetric cryptography (for the key generation model). the proposal fits the security requirement of a cryptographic scheme for WSN in a limited computing resource. A deep quantitative security analysis has been carried out. Moreover the cost analysis of the scheme in terms of computational time and memory usage for each node has been carried on and reported for the case of a 128-bit key.

A new demosaicking algorithm based on direction categorization for wireless IP camera is proposed. By calculating the differences of neighboring pixels and the difference of average value of horizontal and vertical green pixels, the centered pixel is classified as horizontal, vertical, smooth and non-direction. After the directionality of the centered pixel is determined, the gradients of adjacent pixels along this direction are employed to gain the interrelated pixels and the secondary interrelated pixels which are adopted to calculate Kr/Kb of the centered pixel and then interpolate the missing elements. Compared with other CFA demosaicking methods, the proposed method can greatly reduce the artifacts causing by interpolating across edges. Not only can this algorithm obtain high PSNR, but also can it maintain low hardware cost according to the experimental results.
