As the number of university laboratories continues to increase, laboratory safety issues are becoming increasingly prominent. Safety threats such as fires and theft pose serious challenges to the safety of personnel and property. To address the problems existing in the security systems of most university laboratories, this study has designed an intelligent security alarm system that has dual functions of fire detection and safety monitoring. the system uses temperature and humidity sensors, light intensity sensors, and smoke concentration sensors to determine whether to trigger a fire alarm. At the same time, it employs fingerprint recognition sensors and button password input to decide whether to activate the security alarm. If the collected data for temperature, humidity, light intensity, and smoke concentration exceeds the set thresholds, a buzzer and LED indicator light will issue an alarm signal. If the fingerprint information or password is entered incorrectly more than three times, the buzzer will also sound an alarm. the system allows personnel with administrative privileges to modify passwords or add new fingerprint information. In addition, the system transmits data to a mini-program through a communication module and a cloud platform, enabling administrators to remotely monitor the operating status and safety conditions of the system in real-time, so that potential safety hazards can be identified and addressed promptly. the intelligent security alarm system provides comprehensive protection for laboratory safety, helps to enhance the safety of laboratory personnel and equipment, and prevents significant losses. © 2024 ieee.

the application of blockchain in the Internet of things (IoT) solves the problem of centralization, enables data interaction of IoT nodes in untrusted environments. However, most of the blockchain consensus protocols are computationally expensive and poorly scalable, which cannot meet the current demand for low power consumption and low latency of IoT devices. Meanwhile, IoT nodes suffer from many malicious attacks. An effective reputation evaluation scheme is valuable for establishing a trusted, secure IoT environment with certain applications. In this paper, we propose RBCP, a novel reputation-based blockchain consensus protocol, and apply it to the IoT. the protocol divides IoT nodes into multiple regions, and consensus nodes in each region are selected based on real-time updated reputation values, which are used to participate in light PoW consensus and finally propose blocks. then, we model the deposits and profits of the nodes as Stackelberg game and analyze the relationship between them. To evaluate our proposed protocol, we compare it with existing consensus protocols through several experiments. Our experimental results show that RBCP has advantages in terms of TPS, consensus time, and communication consumption, proving that it has low latency and less consensus time under the premise of sufficient security. © 2022 ieee.

the paper presents the modified coordination of voltage-dependent reactive power control method for a medium voltage with inverter-based distributed energy resources in distributed networks. the control method is based on centralized reactive power requirements with the DER system, aiming to control the reactive power to support the distribution network. the proposed control method can regulate voltage and provide reactive power, minimizing reactive power in the distribution network. Simulation studies of the power system using the proposed control approach are verified through DIgSILENT PowerFactory and MATLAB software. the analysis results were compared to those obtained by a standard control method. Simulations have shown that the mitigating voltage rises and increased hosting capacity obtained with the proposed control method were significantly better than those obtained under various scenarios by a particular distribution network's standard control method.

Virtual Reality (VR) and the Kinect sensor, as promising tools in biomedical research, offers diverse applications in medical education, rehabilitation, diagnostics, and health research. the problem statement highlights the demand for innovative solutions and introduces VR and Kinect as potential transformative technologies. this review analyzes the importance of these technologies, their contributions, and future potential. It stands out by evaluating various Kinect-based systems in medical settings. By highlighting distinct features, advancements, and limitations, it provides guidance for future research. Relevant literature was gathered from databases such as Google Scholar, ieee Xplore, and PubMed. the results showcase a wide range of applications, including patient autonomy, stroke rehabilitation, diagnostics, and monitoring. Despite challenges in accurate movement tracking, integration into clinical settings, and limited generalizability of findings due to small sample sizes, VR and Kinect show potential for revolutionizing healthcare delivery and improving patient outcomes. their adaptability, affordability, and immersive nature of these technologies offer promising avenues for personalized interventions, remote healthcare, training, and enhanced patient engagement. As drinking water becomes more and more contaminated and polluted;it poses one of the greatest risks today. the diseases that could be transmitted by the contaminated water to humans and animals have an effect on the ecosystem's life cycle. Early detection of water contamination enables proper action to be taken and harmful situations to be avoided. To guarantee the provision of pure water, real-time monitoring of the water's quality is required. the need for intelligent solutions for monitoring water contamination is growing as sensors, connectivity, and Internet of things (IoT) technology develop. this research study deals with an in-depth examination of current advancements in the field of intelligent water pollution monitoring systems. An IoT-based smart water quality monitoring system that continuously monitors the quality parameters is recommended by the research as being both affordable and efficient. the built-in model is tested using water samples, and the parameters are transferred to the cloud server to be processed further. © 2023 ieee.

this paper meticulously evaluates the reliability of distribution networks integrated with distributed generation (DG), considering various user classifications. Initially, we delve into the daily load profiles of residential, commercial, and industrial sectors, establishing a nuanced time-series load model that encapsulates the distinct characteristics of these customer segments. Subsequently, we formulate a model for the harmonious operation of energy storage systems, tailored to the interplay between DG output and load requirements. Utilizing the sequential Monte Carlo simulation algorithm, we compute the reliability metrics for the ieee RBTSBUS6 feeder system, revealing that DG integration significantly enhances distribution network reliability. Notably, identical DG output yields varied impacts on the reliability of distinct customer sectors, underscoring the need for tailored strategies in DG deployment. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

the fiber optic temperature measurement host utilizes the principle of Raman scattering of light waves to monitor the temperature of the environment in real-time. Due to the extremely harsh working environment in mines, optical fibers are prone to compression deformation caused by foreign objects (falling coal blocks, mechanical equipment) after long-distance laying, leading to abnormal transmission of light waves and issuing invalid alarm signals. Invalid alarm signals can greatly interfere with the reliability and stability of coal mine safety monitoring systems, causing great difficulties to production operations. On the basis of in-depth analysis of the principle of Raman scattering of optical waves in temperature measurement hosts, this article proposes a segmented filtering model for fiber optic abnormal force signal temperature measurement band based on nonlinear polynomials. through experimental analysis, it has been proven that the model can prepare to identify abnormal data generated by non environmental temperature effects in the optical path, greatly improving the reliability and effectiveness of the fiber optic temperature measurement host. © 2023 ieee.

As one of the indispensable parts of the smart transportation system, traffic sign detection is still an open challenge for the reason that traffic sign detection, one kind of small object detection, requires high precision, high reliability, and real-time speed. In this paper, a real-time detector for small traffic sign improved from YOLO-v4 is proposed. First, a transpose convolution layer is added into the backbone of YOLO-v4, named CSPDark-53, to get larger feature maps with richer semantic information of small objects. Secondly, aiming at fusing multi-scale feature maps more effectively, we present two novel attention modules, the upsampling attention module and the downsampling attention module, to calculate the channel weights and spatial masks to help the network focus on useful features and suppress invalid features. the experiments show our detector outperforms the compared models in Chinese Traffic sign dataset TT100k. © 2021 ieee.

computing the optimal solution to a spatial filtering problems in a Wireless sensor Network can incur large bandwidth and computational requirements if an approach relying on data centralization is used. the so-called distributed adaptive signal fusion (DASF) algorithm solves this problem by having the nodes collaboratively solve low-dimensional versions of the original optimization problem, relying solely on the exchange of compressed views of the sensor data between the nodes. However, the DASF algorithm has only been shown to converge for filtering problems that can be expressed as smooth optimization problems. In this paper, we explore an extension of the DASF algorithm to a family of non-smooth spatial filtering problems, allowing the addition of non-smooth regularizers to the optimization problem, which could for example be used to perform node selection, and eliminate nodes not contributing to the filter objective, therefore further reducing communication costs. We provide a convergence proof of the non-smooth DASF algorithm and validate its convergence via simulations in both a static and adaptive setting. © 2023 ieee.

As the grid-connected capacity of distributed photovoltaic (PV) continues to increase, key power quality problems such as voltage quality and waveform quality of distribution network caused by PV connection cannot be ignored. PV output has randomness and fluctuation, and the capacity of the low-voltage distribution network is relatively small, so distributed PV has a relatively large impact on power quality. therefore, it is necessary to comprehensively evaluate PV power quality. First, based on the probability distribution of time, the distributed PV node data is processed. then, the analytic hierarchy process and improved entropy weight method are used to get the comprehensive weight of the probability index matrix, so that the weight value of each power quality index can be allocated according to the power quality fluctuation of the connection point. At last, the traditional ideal solution method is improved, and the improved ideal solution method is used to comprehensively evaluate the distributed PV power quality.
