the expansion of Digital Health brings increasing data privacy and security challenges, mainly due to data collection by service providers and third parties. the decentralized approach of Self-Sovereign Identity emerges as a solution, offering users direct control over their data. this paper proposes the SmartMed system for controlling access to private medical data by attribute-based access control implemented on smart contracts. the paper investigates the performance limitations of the Ethereum and Besu blockchain platforms in controlling access to medical data. the proposal develops smart contracts to perform attribute-based access control and to store log records in the blockchain, highlighting the detailed performance analysis on both tested platforms. the results reveal the superiority of the Besu platform over Ethereum, indicating a lower computational cost per transaction. Our proposal innovates by proposing a system based on smart contracts to guarantee the authenticity of medical data, complemented by the use of Keycloak in managing access to healthcare systems. © 2024 ieee.

A spiral PCF based surface plasmon resonance sensor is proposed in this paper. Gold is used as the active plasmonic material. It is placed on the external surface of the PCF. For detection purpose, the unknown analyte flow is positioned at the outer surface of the PCF. By using the finite element method (FEM), sensing performance is analyzed. the proposed sensor shows maximum amplitude sensitivity of 997 RIU-1 and maximum wavelength sensitivity of 10,000 nm/RIU at refractive index 1.39. At the same refractive index the sensing resolution of the sensor is 1×10-5 RIU. this PCF based sensor can sense the refractive indices from 1.36 to 1.39. Furthermore, performance of the sensor is investigated by varying the value of parameters such as gold layer thickness, pitch and air-hole diameter. the proposed sensor can detect biological analytes for its high sensitivity, improved sensing resolution and suitable linearity. © 2022 ieee.

Street lighting is an important concept on which we have to focus more because we spend more than 40 percent of the allotted budget towards it. In the present scenario most of the street lighting systems are inefficient in reducing the cost. An effective solution is reducing the energy consumption. this paper deals with monitoring and controlling the street lights through IoT and energy consumption reduction of the street lights in a smart way. the proposed system can make the street light to glow with different intensities as per the scheduled timings also depending on the traffic as well as on climatic conditions Transformer and relays are used to reduce the intensity of the light by reducing the voltage. Sensing the darkness and detection of objects can be carried out by Light Dependent sensor (LDR) and Passive Infrared (PIR) sensors. Master node (Raspberry Pi) and Slave node (Arduino) communicate each other through RF module. Current and Potential transformers are used to measure the current and voltage readings respectively and the values will be uploaded to server and these can be monitored from anywhere in the world. this project helps not only to the government but also to the educational institutions, offices and industries. © 2023 ieee.

the major challenges of the remotely deployed wireless sensor network are selecting optimal cluster heads and energy-efficient routing. To deal with these challenges researchers often used an approach of hierarchal cluster-based routing where cluster heads are given additional jobs like data aggregation transferring aggregated data to a base station which leads to high power consumption. High power consumption leads to the short life of a network hence to extend the network's life, care should be taken while selecting cluster heads in the wireless sensor network. Biogeography-based optimization (BBO) is a well-known optimization algorithm that has a broad scope to reveal its full potential in dealing with combinatorial optimization problems such as clustering. therefore, this paper proposed an Enhanced Biogeography Based Optimization (EBBO) based cluster-head selection method. the proposed method is used to optimize the energy consumption in the network. In general, the sensor nodes are un-attendant and have limited energy backup. the energy optimization of such nodes can lead to the longevity and stability of the network. To evaluate the performance of the algorithm Enhanced Biogeography Based Optimization (EBBO), it is compared with some existing clustering methods. the simulation results show an effective increase in the lifetime of the sensor network as compared to other methods. © 2022 ieee.

With recent growth of smart devices, wireless green communication is promising solution to improve the network performance, stability and robustness in the Internet of things (IoT) networks. Clustering is one the best candidate for network partition which enables energy efficient mechanism for data gathering and transmission from sensor enabled IoT nodes, which also improve the quality of service underlying heterogeneous systems in IoT networks. Mostly, researchers proposed clustering approach in the regard of belongings of nodes to cluster or not. In real scenario, nodes has fuzzy relationship with clsuters, in this regard, we present Fuzzy K-means clustering (FKmC) algorithm to form balanced clustering, which divide the network into disjoint clusters focuses on efficient energy consumption in the IoT network. the work proposed soft clustering (FKmC) for better clusters using the membership parameter of sensor nodes and residual energy of sensor nodes. Simulation work is done in three phases;first phase show the effective formation of cluster between proposed FKmc and state-of-art algorithms, Second and third phase of the simulation are performed and found that FKmC outperforms in terms of network lifetime and energy consumption. © 2021 ieee.

In this work, we propose and evaluate an online scheduler prototype based on machine learning algorithms. Online job-flow scheduler should make scheduling and resource allocation decisions for individual jobs without any prior knowledge of the subsequent job queue (i.e., online). We simulate and generalize this task to a more formal 0-1 Knapsack problem with unknown utility functions of the knapsack items. In this way we evaluate the implemented machine learning-based solution to classical combinatorial optimization algorithms. A hybrid machine learning and dynamic programming - based approach is proposed to consider and strictly satisfy the knapsack constraint on the total weight. As a main result the proposed hybrid solution showed efficiency comparable to the greedy knapsack approximation. © 2022 ieee.

We propose Combinatorial Optimization based Consensus Protocol (COCP) that considers efficient use of energy in Blockchain (BC) consensus protocol based on Proof-of-UsefulWork (PoUW) concept. Instead of classical cryptographic puzle, it involves dealing with hard real-life combinatorial optimization (CO) problems submitted by BC participants called customers. Two sources of rewards are provided for miners, one related to adding a new block and the other for solving an instance of CO problem. the main issues that arise when combining BC and CO, are security and consistency of maintaining the whole system. We discuss how to resolve them and what are the benefits of the proposed COCP for all BC participants. Our proposed doubly-rewarding scheme and efficiency in energy exploration are illustrated on a small example from the Ethereum BC network.

As we can see, only a select few gadgets, such as PCs and smartphones, are internet-connected in the modern world and since governments across the world instituted lockdowns to stop the spread of COVID-19, interest in home gardening has exploded. Internet of things (IoT) and the internet have completely taken over today's world. All humans utilize the internet to fulfill basic needs. the network of actual items is known as the Internet of things (IOT). Simply put, it refers to the process of keeping an eye on a physical machine or object. It can also refer to the interconnection of physical objects that have been implanted with electronics, sensors, software, and network connectivity. the foundation of our nation is agriculture. the main issue in agriculture is water scarcity. the water resource is not used in an effective manner, so the water is wasted. Incorporating distributed generations (DGs) into microgrids requires an effective fault detection mechanism. However, conventional approaches have limitations in achieving reliable and accurate outcomes under complex and abnormal conditions in microgrid distribution systems. Recent studies have demonstrated superimposed sequence components' effectiveness in fault detection and location. this study proposed a novel fault detection method based on the cumulative sum of superimposed energy (CUSUM-SE), considering positive sequence components. the efficiency of the proposed method is evaluated under a wide range of symmetrical and unsymmetrical fault scenarios, including fault occurrences at different locations. the proposed methodology is further tested for robustness in detecting simultaneous and high-resistance faults (HRFs). the effect of DG penetration on the protection scheme is also analyzed. the proposed approach is validated on the Consortium for Electric Reliability Technology Solutions (CERTS) AC microgrid using the 2021a MATLAB/Simulink platform, demonstrating its consistency and effectiveness. © 2025 ieee.
