Flexible electronics has the great potential for healthcare applications, especially for prevention-oriented healthcare and personalized medicine. An essential block in the flexible biomedical sensor is the smart interface circuit that facilitates signal recording, decision making, and wireless transmission. this paper presents an ultra-low power system architecture for flexible sensors that is configurable for different types of biomedical signals and capable of extracting information from raw data while facilitates communications among multiple sensors using secure body channel communication (BCC).

the increased attention towards microgrid technology and smart power systems embarks the optimal operation with reliability, security and economical considerations. the load demand by the consumers, needs to be met always taking into consideration the operation of the generating units in most economical manner. Economic dispatch of the generating sources allocates the power to be generated by each source in a multisource system by the optimization of cost using a suitable technique, to accomplish operation at minimum cost. this work studies a multi-DG islanded microgrid system with the mix of renewable and non-renewable sources and a battery storage to achieve optimal generation from non-renewable sources, and establish the power generation by each source for a pre-specified load pattern. the optimal operation is carried out considering various operational requirements and considering the minimum cost operation and optimization is carried out using PSO technique. the work also focuses on finding the optimal power and energy pattern of the battery storage used in integration with the microgrid for supporting the intermittency of renewable generations. © 2021 ieee.

Tactile sensation plays important roles in virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR) systems. Here, a self-powered, painless and highly sensitive electro-tactile (ET) system for achieving virtual tactile experiences is proposed based on triboelectric nanogenerator (TENG) and ET interface formed of ball-shaped electrode array. Electrostatic discharge triggered by TENG can induce notable ET stimulation, while controlled distance between the ET electrodes and human skin can regulate the induced discharge current. the ion-bombardment technique has been used to enhance the electrification capability of triboelectric polymer. this TENG-based ET system can work for many fields, including virtual tactile displays, braille instruction, intelligent protective suits or even nerve stimulation.

In order to resolve power curtailment of distributed energy resources (DER) and use clean energy as much as possible, the ability of rooftop photovoltaic (PV) consumption has become a concern for utilities in scenarios of high penetration. this paper addresses the multistage dynamic feeder capacity enhancement planning problem of a distribution system where PV and energy storage systems (ESS) are jointly integrated, and a novel comprehensive planning method based on geographic constraints of distributed renewables is proposed. In this process, load growth and the development of PV and ESS limited by spatial capacity saturation are taken into account. At each planning stage, the operation conditions are divided into several typical day scenarios clustered from the history data. Accordingly, the underlying idea of dynamic programming is used to obtain an optimal solution. the object is to maximize the PV consumption rate. As constraints, the bus voltage, feeder power flow, charge and discharge power of ESS should be maintained within the standard level. Numerical results of an actual distribution system illustrate the effective performance of the proposed approach, and the power supply reliability improvement brought about by planning is also analyzed. © 2022 ieee.

As economic construction and social development continue to advance, the challenges facing energy resources are becoming increasingly severe. distributed power generation, as a clean and renewable method of electricity supply, stands out for its environmental friendliness and flexibility, making it an important supplement to conventional power generation methods. this paper focuses on the operational characteristics of distributed power sources and conducts research on their metering systems. By analyzing the specific features and existing issues of current metering systems in handling distributed power, the paper proposes effective solutions to address situations where these systems fail to meet requirements.

the rapid development of AI technology has greatly increased the demand for computational power, leading many companies to deploy large-scale intelligent computing centers. However, the larger cluster sizes result in more frequent failures, making root cause analysis more challenging. To address these issues, we propose ASeqRCA, a novel framework for root cause analysis in intelligent computing center. We simplify the complex network structure of intelligent computing clusters and model the relationships between alarms in sequences by frequent-pattern mining and causal learning techniques. With an alarm causal graph, we apply depth-first search to identify potential alarm propagation paths. We illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed method through a real-world AI model training failure case.

In the realm of smart agriculture, integrating Internet of things (IoT) technologies promises to revolutionize traditional farming practices. However, challenges such as network unreliability in remote agricultural settings and the need for user-friendly, real-time monitoring and control systems persist. this paper presents an innovative IoT-based system that addresses these issues through a dual-modality approach: integrating edge-level decision-making for continuous operation during network disruptions and cloud-based monitoring and control via user-friendly desktop and mobile applications. Employing LoRa and LoRaWAN for efficient long-range communication, the system showcases resilience in challenging network environments, ensuring uninterrupted agricultural management. the implementation includes sophisticated sensors for accurate data collection and integrates with the Loriot platform for seamless data management. Results from controlled testing environments confirm the system's reliability in sensor accuracy, communication efficiency, and seamless transition between cloud and edge computing. the development of intuitive applications further enhances the system's practicality, offering farmers enhanced control and real-time insights into soil conditions. this research contributes significantly to the advancement of smart agriculture, demonstrating a comprehensive, adaptable, and user-friendly solution for modern farming challenges.

Attack graphs provide a way to model multiple attack vectors and multi-step attacks in a holistic manner that a malicious actor could use to compromise a system. Traditional methods of generating attack graphs involve expert knowledge, manual curation, and computational algorithms that might not cover the entire threat landscape due to the ever-evolving nature of vulnerabilities and exploits. this paper explores the approach of leveraging large language models (LLMs), such as GPT4, to automate the generation of attack graphs by intelligently chaining CVEs based on their preconditions and effects. It also shows how to utilize LLMs to create attack graphs from threat reports.

Large-deformation capacitive stretch sensors have proven to be a reliable sensing method for soft robots and wearables. However, the measurement rate at which capacitance is accurately measured is often limited by the relatively high resistance of the conductive composite electrodes. At high measurement frequencies, the measured capacitance underestimates the real capacitance, resulting in inaccurate strain estimation. High measurement rates allow for fast sensor feedback, which is essential for closed loop control of fast moving systems. In this work, we show that the measurement rate of elastic capacitive sensors with conductive composite electrodes can be increased by cyclic pre-stretching of the sensors before each use.
