Cloud computing allows access to computing resources from a number of providers, who offer multiple pricing strategies for selected product characteristics. the service offerings are becoming increasingly complex, with innovations such as spot markets making service selection more difficult. this paper utilizes a task-oriented approach to examine user requirements expressed as ontology to map requirements to cloud service characteristics to which prices are attached. the methodology described in this paper builds on previous work in semantic cloud service description and pricing of cloud services. the advantages of the approach are that there is a clear methodology for deriving prices for cloud services from multiple service characteristics based on semantic reasoning. Knowledge can be created and mapped across multiple knowledge domains such as requirements engineering, service description and cloud economics. New knowledge can be created by reasoning against ontology.

Virtualization is the fundamental technology enabler behind Cloud computing (CC) whose services are provided via the instantiation of Virtual Machines (VMs). these instantiations follow mostly a stochastic pattern, depending mainly on the ad hoc timing when users request and release these services, and thus generating a dynamic load on the CC compute nodes. To cope with this inherent dynamicity, a load-balancing scheme is substantial for an optimal CC platform operation. Ideally, VMs need to be dynamically migrated from a Cloud site to another in order to balance between Cloud sites witnessing heavy and light loads. In this paper, we shed further light on inter-Cloud load-balancing subtleties, and delineate its strong correlation to VMs migration. We propose a novel idea for live VM-migration (soft-handoff VM migration) inspired from mobile computing. As a prerequisite, we implemented a simple load-balancing scheme, consisting on real-time tracking of VMs load in a real-world testbed interconnecting two Cloud sites.

In this paper, we proposed and implemented an offloading mechanism for mobile applications based on the R-OSGi framework which supports the Java modular component dynamic services. A mobile application is composed of a number of modules that are eligible for offloading to be executed at a remote server on the Internet and executed at a mobile device. We focused on the problem of how to transfer some modules of a mobile application to the server so as to minimize the total execution time of the whole mobile application. We used a directed tree graph to represent the relationship between the modules of a mobile application. then, we formulated the offloading problem as a combinatorial optimization problem and proposed two algorithms to solve the offloading problem for a simple-chain application and also for a general application. the proposed algorithms were implemented and examined on the R-OSGi-based framework and the results show that the proposed algorithms are much more efficient than both the cases where no offloading is considered and where all the modules are offloaded to the server.

Users from different cultures might have different expectations when engaging with interface design of a website. It is assumed that every person is influenced by his or her culture stated that, perceptions, preferences, communications and social acceptance are subject to culture. A slow interaction between users and user interface is one of the problem occur due to lack of limited standard of web object and users' expectation. In addition, limited standard of web object makes the User Interface Design complex and complicated. A guideline has been proposed for user interface design for e-learning website based on localization of web objects. the proposed guideline has been used in this research to redesign an existing e-learning website of Universiti Malaysia Sabah, namely Smart2ums and user interaction with the adapted user interface has been evaluated through simulation tool, namely Camtasia Studio. this research proven that adapted interface design with guideline of localization more efficient compared to interface design without adapted guideline. © 2017 ieee.

Security challenges are the most important obstacle for advancement of IT-based on-demand services and cloud computing as an emerging technology. In this paper, a structural policy management engine has been introduced to enhance the reliability of managing different policies in clouds and to provide standard and also dedicated security levels (rings) based on capabilities of the cloud provider and requirements of cloud customers. Accordingly, policy database has been designed based on capabilities and policy engine establishes appropriate relations between policy database and SLA engine to provide security terms as a service. Furthermore, policy match maker and reasoning engine have been designed for syntactic and semantic analysis of security requests based on three-levels of protection ontology to enhance the process of policy management in clouds.

this paper presents the state of art research progress on Chinese single document summarization. Our method utilizes hL DA(hierarchical Latent Dirichlet Allocation) algorithm to model the documents first. A new feature is proposed from the h LDA modeling results, which can reflect some semantic information. then it combines different traditional features to extract summary sentences from the documents. Four kinds of sentence extraction algorithms were designed to explore the effect of h LDA clusters. Our method attempts to find an optimal linear feature combination for sentence scoring through large scale experiments. After the comparison with other summarization methods, our method reveals better performance.

Automobile accidents remain one of the leading causes of death in the United States. Sensor-based driver assistance systems have made driving safer by lending drivers an extra pair of eyes and an information triage center. the Internet of things technologies enable information exchange between drivers, vehicles, and roads leading towards intelligent transportation systems. Efforts to further injury prevention in the past decade have been focused on heterogenous information sourcing and predictive analytics on driver intent. the federal naturalistic driving database Strategic Highway Research Program 2 (SHRP 2) is unprecedented in that it provides a wealth of data resulted from real-time sensor capture of in-progress driving trips by a large cohort. We discuss our novel approach to study injury risk factors using temporal heterogenous network mining and address the challenge of algorithmic efficiency associated with large datasets by leveraging distributed computing modules.

Recently, cloud services have fast emerged as a major form of IT services. they have changed the way of operating global or local services. Notwithstanding these promising features of cloud services, we can see many business sectors that are not very positive for adopting cloud services. One of its major reasons is controllability on security. It is widely believed that a purchasing organization loses control over operation, especially over security when adopting SaaS for their critical businesses. However, the global competition forces business sectors to change their style of thinking. Academia is never an exception. In 2012, Japan AXIES (Academic eXchange for Information Environment and Strategy) released the criteria for adopting cloud services for academic environments. Its scope includes outsourcing major functions of a univeristy management to cloud service providers. In this paper, we analyze the AXIES report in terms of risk analysis. Its security model is analyzed in terms of TPM and SLA. the criticality levels for services are defined. the assurance levels and cloud security levels are required to match a given criticality level. Cloud security model such as CCM and identity trust model such as NIST 800-63 are integrated into a cloudbased trust model.

With an increasing number of service providers in the cloud market, the competition between these is also increasing. Each provider attempts to attract customers by providing a high quality service with lowest possible cost and at the same time trying to make profit. Often, cloud resources are advertised and brokered in a spot market style, i.e., traded for immediate delivery. this paper proposes an architecture for a brokerage model specifically for multi-cloud resource spot markets that integrates the resource brokerage function across several cloud providers. We use a tuple space architecture to facilitate coordination. this architecture supports specifically multiple cloud providers selling unused resources in the spot market. To support the matching process by finding the best match between customer requirements and providers, offers are matched with regard the lowest possible cost available for the customer in the market at the time of the request. the key role of this architecture is to provide the coordination techniques built on a tuple space, adapted to the cloud spot market.
