An approach to prediction of the arrival time of interplanetary shocks using neural networks based on the data gathered from EPAM (Electron, Proton and Alpha Monitor) sensor of NASA's ACE (advanced Composition Explorer) spacecraft is proposed in this paper. A short description of ACE spacecraft and the data, published online on the appropriate web-site, are presented A data preparation for prediction is proven and multi-layer perceptron architecture is described the results of simulation modelling are presented in the end of the paper.

this proposal describes a hardware-software interface which can put into effect a practically unlimited number of processing resources and which allows for completely describing and exploiting the inherent parallelism of the application problems. Appropriate hardware consists of processing resources, platform resources, and storage means. the particular processing resource is not a complete processor but some kind of a comparatively simple operation unit. the proposed architectural principles may lead to: Instruction set architectures which can cope with a trans-finite number of hardware resources. Processing circuits containing resources of intermediate granularity and appropriately optimized interconnects.

this paper describes a new digital data acquisition system that can be used to record signals from infrasound events. the system includes a QF4A512 programmable signal converter from Quickfilter Technologies and a MSP430 microcontroller from Texas Instruments. the signal output of the infrasound sensors is converted to digital via a 16-bits Analog to Digital Converter (ADC). To prevent errors in the conversion process, Anti-Aliasing Filters are employed prior to the ADC Digital filtering is performed after the ADC using a Digital Signal Processor, which is implemented on the QF4A512.

A fully automated computerized setup suitable for electrochemical measurements has been developed the experimental system includes a three-electrode electrochemical cell, a potentiostat, a lock-in amplifier and a GPIB controller. the system is capable of taking fully automated measurements of both capacitance and interfacial tension of the dropping Hg electrode - solution interface in student and research laboratories by means of LabVIEW software. there is a detailed description of the instrumentation involved, their interfaces and digital-process utilities and their operation. the experimental results are mainly focused on the estimation of the accuracy and reproducibility of the acquired data for the evaluation of the proposed automated measurements and acquisition system.

the paper presents application of Petri Nets to the modeling of the data acquisition in the distributed measurement system. the main advantage of the model is the consideration of the time dependencies of the system. Details of the model and tools used to its design are presented. Experiments using different computer configurations and integrated programming environments are described. Verification of the model against measurements of the real system are included.

In this paper we propose a solution to matching bitstrings in the bitstring encrypted by stream cipher. We consider the following problem setting. there is a bitstring encrypted with owner's secret key and allocated on the remote untrusted site. the owner of these data wants to find all occurrences of some pattern presented as a bit string in the string on the remote site without revealing either pattern string or the data string on the remote site. the owner knows the secret key but he/she is not allowed to reveal either data or the pattern to the remote site. We propose an efficient algorithm that solves the problem efficiently in amortized time.

Classification of existing products, parts or commodities is a precondition for cost reduction thru the whole process chains, efficient stock keeping, disposability of single engines or services and factories or power stations. the problem of incompatible classification system becomes the worse that more companies want to use electronical market places. the aim for this contribution is the discussion of an approach to classify the new products in the R WE classification system via the software tool - e-proCAT [1] - based on pattern matching in strings of product descriptions and using an implementation of the Boyer-Moore-Algorithm.
