the performances of the traditional anti-jamming DOA methods for the colocated MIMO radar system will be seriously deteriorated when the number of the snapshots is small. In this paper, a compressive sensing (CS)-based anti-jamming DOA estimation with only a few snapshots is proposed. In the new DOA estimation, the information on the direction of strong jamming is used to construct a blocking matrix that can block the jamming component effectively. Hence, only the desired signal component is left after preprocessing with the blocking matrix. then, the DOA estimation problem with a blocking matrix is formulated as a sparse recovery problem, and it is solved by the orthogonal matching pursuit (OMP) algorithm. We compare the proposed method with the traditional CS-based method and the traditional anti-jamming DOA methods. Numerical results demonstrate that the proposed method outperforms the traditional methods.

To reduce the consumption of spectrum and hardware resource, two methods are proposed to design the integrated waveform that can satisfy the requirements for both radar and communication. First, a linear superposition (LS) method is proposed to design the transmit waveforms of a uniform linear array (ULA). In the far field of the ULA, the designed transmit waveforms can simultaneously synthesize the desired radar and communication waveforms in different directions. However, the designed waveforms usually have high peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR). then, an alternative projection (AP) method is proposed to reduce the PAPR of the transmit waveforms. the AP method can devise the waveforms with constant modulus. Both the proposed methods can perform radar and communication function in different directions. Finally, several simulation results are given to verify the effectiveness of the proposed methods.

We present a method for cancelation of the acoustic crosstalk between the ears of a listener using a linear loudspeaker array. this allows for controlling the signals that arise at listener's ear independently of each other so that binaural cues can be imposed. We employ superdirective near-field beamforming (SDB) over the vast part of the frequency range. Allowing the listener to move in front of the array requires the computation of a new SDB solution for each possible position of the listener, which is a computationally expensive procedure. We show that the beamformer weights exhibit a very smooth evolution for listening positions along a line parallel to the array. this makes it straightforward to parameterize pre-computed beamformer weights with a few parameters for each frequency. Upon realtime execution, the beamformer weights can be determined efficiently for any arbitrary position along the listener contour from the parameters with negligible error. Simulation results show that the proposed beamformer provides a higher channel separation than previously published solutions while maintaining robustness.

We focus on channel estimation and indoor positioning of wideband multiuser millimeter wave systems. Leveraging the sparse channel characteristics, we transform the estimation problem to recovery problems of multipath parameters, e.g., angle of arrival, time delay and path fading. We model the training signal as a matricization form of a third-order canonical polyadic tensor, which consists of three factor matrices containing channel information. Inspired by array signal processing methods, we exploit the structural feature of our tensor and develop an uniqueness condition of tensor factorization, leading to a tensor-based channel estimation algorithm. In order to distinguish the multiuser signal components, we further develop a clustering-aided indoor positioning scheme. Simulation results show that the proposed methods apply to different system configurations and can achieve satisfactory estimation and positioning performance.

Generally, nested array (NA) is susceptible to mutual coupling due to the dense subarray, which seriously degrades the performance. To address this issue, we design an array switching-based scheme to achieve the blind direction of arrival (DOA) and mutual coupling estimation in this paper. Specifically, by exploiting the inherent sparse structural characteristics of NA, we first switch the sparse subarray on to perform initial DOA estimation, which enables to offer the well-performed estimates free from the severe mutual coupling effect. Subsequently, the unambiguous angles are determined with low complexity by utilizing the received signal of the whole NA. Furthermore, the contaminated steering vector is reconstructed and a quadratic optimization problem is established to estimate the mutual coupling coefficients. Finally, re-estimation is conducted to obtain the refined estimates. Numerical simulations demonstrate the superiority of the proposed scheme.

this paper address the problem of direction-of-arrival (DOA) estimation of quasi-stationary signals based on uniform linear array with malfunctioning sensors. By utilizing the subspace structures of the local second-order statistics of quasi-stationary signals, a Khatri-Rao subspace approach is developed. Our scheme first collects the local covariance matrices of the source signals and then transfers them into a new virtual linear array which can identify at least twice as much DOAs as to the original physical one. It is also shown that the coprime configuration is a special case of the proposed model therefore the same techniques can be applied directly. Simulations are also carried out for the comparison of the proposed algorithm and state-of-the-art approaches.

We consider decentralized detection (DD) of an uncooperative moving target via wireless sensor networks (WSNs), measured in zero-mean unimodal noise. To address energy and bandwidth limitations, the sensors use multi-level quantizers. the encoded bits are then reported to a fusion center (FC) via binary symmetric channels. Herein, we propose a generalized Rao (G-Rao) test as a simpler alternative to the generalized likelihood ratio test (GLRT). Further, the asymptotic performance of a trajectory-clairvoyant (multi-bit) Rao test is leveraged to develop an offline and per-sensor quantizer design. Simulations show the appeal of G-Rao test with respect to the GLRT, and the gain in detection by using multiple bits for quantization.

sensor localization bounds have been derived assuming that received signal strength (RSS) measurements are performed with perfectly known sensor transmit powers. In this paper the Bayesian Cramér-Rao bound is derived assuming transmit powers are random with known prior distribution. Further, both directional measurements on each link, from i to j and from j to i, and their correlation, are explicitly considered. Results show that random transmit powers have a small (5-13%) impact on coordinate estimation bounds. However, using only the average of the directional measurements can significantly increase these bounds. © 2006 ieee.

In this paper, we analyze the performance of dynamic time division duplexing (DTDD) in a distributed antenna array massive multiple-input multiple-output (DAA-mMIMO) system in the presence of simultaneous uplink (UL) and downlink (DL) data requirements. DTDD has been shown to substantially improve system performance in terms of spectral efficiency (SE) for cellular mMIMO systems. In the DAAenabled system, we show that the performance of DTDD depends critically on appropriately scheduling the UL/DL modes at the access points (APs) based on the localized UL/DL traffic demand. Since an exhaustive search over all possible UL/DL modes is combinatorially complex, we present a greedy algorithm to solve the AP-scheduling problem in polynomial time. Via extensive numerical experiments, we illustrate the 95%-likely sum UL-DL SE achieved by our solution, and show that DAA-mMIMO with dynamic AP-scheduling can substantially outperform TDD-based cellular as well as DAA mMIMO systems.

Traffic analysis, where eavesdroppers retrieve networking information such as source-destination pairs and paths of data flow, severely compromises user privacy and can equip an adversary to launch more powerful network attacks. Anonymous communication, where users exchange information without revealing the communicating parties is essential in any data network. Chaum Mixing, where relay nodes or proxy servers use cryptographic and batching strategies to mask source identities, is a well technique to provide anonymous communication on the Internet. the mathematical analysis of Chaum mixes and the design of mixing strategies have utilized an information theoretic measure of anonymity based on Shannon entropy. In this work, a statistical signal processing framework is proposed to study optimal mixing strategies and the achievable anonymity. Using the detection time of an adversary as a metric, the maximum achievable anonymity of a mix is characterized as a function of its available memory and the allowed rate of dummy transmissions. It is shown that, in the absence of dummy transmissions, the maximum allowable time for anonymous transmission increases quadratically with the buffer size, and for a fixed buffer size, the system approaches perfect unobservability at a rate inversely proportional to the rate of dummy transmissions.
