In several high-speed computer applications, ordinary differential equations (ODEs) are often utilized. Modern CPUs, however, usually offer a modest throughput for these systems. this paper discusses the implemented design and analysis of a hardware accelerator including second-order, third-order, and fourth-order Runge-Kutta ODE solvers for improving the computing speed and accuracy. the implementation of the hardware accelerators has been done using the VHDL programming language and has been deployed on the Zynq ZC702 FPGA evaluation board. A comprehensive comparative analysis of different Runge-Kutta hardware accelerators, highlighting factors including timing performance, hardware resource usage, and the total on-chip power consumption has been given. According to the experimental findings, the fourth-order Runge-Kutta equation has a significant power consumption, rising by an estimated 51.37 percent and 12.445 percent when comparing second-order and third-order Runge-Kutta solvers at a clock rate of 100 MHz, respectively. this study contributes to the enhancement of ODE solutions in high-performance computing applications. © 2023 IEEE.

With the development of the internet, social software and media have become ubiquitous, making images increasingly important in daily life. the dissemination of a large number of images on social networks has made information security issues increasingly prominent, and image encryption technology has become increasingly important. this article mainly studies image encryption algorithms based on chaotic systems. Firstly, the background and history of image encryption were introduced, followed by an explanation of the basic concepts based on chaotic systems. then, several chaos based image encryption schemes were comprehensively compared, and their advantages and disadvantages were analyzed. Subsequently, several common measures for evaluating the effectiveness of encryption schemes were introduced. Finally, the future development of image encryption algorithms based on chaotic systems is discussed. ©2024 IEEE.

Dynamic facial expression recognition (DFER) is an essential upstream task in the areas of human-machine interaction, driving safety, education and health aids. However, the inherent uncertainty between variations significantly impacts the effectiveness of DFER in practical applications, particularly due to the similar facial changes associated with different facial expressions. To address this challenge, we introduced a novel relationship-driven approach based on the Transformer architecture that can learn the relationships between facial expressions and facial variations. Specifically, we designed several facial variation tokens to explicitly encode the variation status of key facial regions. In addition, we developed a novel module to model the interactions between facial variation tokens and help the model better focus on the specific facial variations of facial expressions. Experimental results on two challenging benchmark DFER datasets show that our proposed FSRNet achieves state-of-the-art performance. © 2024 IEEE.

In order to improve the processing quality of traditional Chinese medicine rhubarb and control the processing process of rhubarb in real time, a programmable logic control system with Ethernet and Internet of things remote communication function was designed, and the corresponding programming software and configuration software were developed, which had important engineering application value for the transformation and upgrading of traditional processing equipment of rhubarb. In this paper, based on 5G Narrowband Internet of things (NBiot) technology and industrial Ethernet technology, a programmable logic control system with remote wireless communication function is designed, and the supporting programming software platform is developed to connect to the cloud wireless network. the research results were tested in Li County Rhuai Technology Co., LTD. the rhuai production yield was increased by 30%, the processing quality was effectively improved, and the effectiveness of the rhuai processing process control was guaranteed. In addition, the results can provide reference for the research and development of intelligent control systems in traditional Chinese medicine preparation industry, and realize the large-scale and industrialized development of traditional Chinese medicine processing equipment. © 2024 SPIE.

Ray is a novel distributed computing framework designed for artificial intelligence computations and has been widely applied in various fields. However, its default load balancing algorithm, which is based on the equal distribution approach, often leads to load imbalance issues. In this paper, we propose a load balancing algorithm based on multi-objective optimization to address the load imbalance problem in Ray. the algorithm utilizes an ideal similarity-based sorting solution to improve the shortcomings of Ray's default load balancing algorithm. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed algorithm effectively improves the load balancing performance. © 2023 IEEE.

In ICT education, most of the courses particularly those focused on programming, are designed to enhance computational and practical skills. However, the selection of appropriate programming languages holds great significance for novice programmers embarking on their journey of learning programming. this paper presents a comprehensive analysis utilizing real-world data to gain insights into the prevalent trends in programming language selection for problem-solving among novice programmers. the study leverages solution submission logs from an online judge (OJ) system, employed as an educational tool within an introductory programming course. the analysis specifically focuses on topic #1 consists of four problems of this course. Our investigation revolves around programmers' first attempts to solve these problems, taking into account the programming languages they employ. the findings of our detailed statistical analysis shed light on the preferred programming languages used by programmers to tackle these problems. these insights not only aid fledgling novice programmers in making informed decisions when selecting a programming language, but also offer educators, instructors, and academic institutions valuable information for curating programming language choices within introductory programming courses. © 2023 ACM.

Road safety depends heavily on traffic signs, and as there are more vehicles on the road, the demand for precise traffic sign recognition systems rises. the development of machine-learning algorithms to predict and recognize traffic signs in real-time has been the main focus of research. An overview of the state of advancement in image analysis and classification for recognizing road signs is given in this article. It also goes through their benefits and drawbacks in various traffic situations. Managing various lighting and weather situations, the necessity for real-time processing, and future connection with autonomous driving systems are just a few of the difficulties that are highlighted in the paper. this study seeks to provide guidance to professionals working in the areas of autonomous driving, computer vision, and machine learning who recognize traffic signs. © 2023 IEEE.

the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways estimates that 158,964 two-wheeler road accidents occurred in India in 2020, resulting in 56,873 fatalities, some of which were brought on by the lack of a helmet. this is still an issue on Indian roads and puts the lives of the country's young inhabitants in peril, despite numerous campaigns that have been undertaken by various state governments and the imposition of numerous punishments. the usage of computer vision is a suitable remedy for this issue. An automated system is suggested that employs a state-of-the-art single shot detector (SSD) for detection, image upscaling and Optical Character Recognition (OCR) to identify the vehicle's licence plate, as well as a database for e-challan records. Together with the payment link to clear the challan online, other Short Message Service (SMS) and mail Application programming Interface (API) is also utilised to notify about the challan's issuance. this paper explores a deep-learning-based idea that assures traffic safety and order on Indian roads and is a workable and useful solution to the highlighted issue. © 2023 IEEE.
