Pumped hydropower storage and battery storage have different advantages in power regulation and energy storage. By installing battery storage in pumped storage power plants, the operational benefits of pumped hydropower storage combined with battery storage can be improved in the electricity market. Based on the New England electricity market in the U.S., this paper proposes a rolling optimization scheduling strategy for a pumped storage hydropower plant combined with battery storage in the day-ahead and intraday electricity market. the goal is to maximize the total profits of the power plant. the operating status of pumped storage units and the reference point of energy storage is determined based on the day-ahead forecast price, and the scheduling strategy is revised according to the updated data of price in the intraday market to ensure that the plant can satisfy the demand for AGC frequency regulation. the established model is a mixed integer linear programming (MILP) problem, and the optimal scheduling scheme is obtained by solving the model. Taking Shisanling pumped storage plant as an example, the simulation results validate the effectiveness of the proposed method.

As the energy market transitions from traditional vertically integrated structures to interactive competitive ones, the distributed nature of power systems becomes increasingly evident. Traditional centralized optimization methods struggle to reveal the interactions among multiple agents. this paper considers the interactions and trading patterns between distribution system operators, new energy operators, and load aggregators in the context of the distribution network. It establishes a double-layer Stackelberg game model, where the outer layer is led by the distribution system operator, adjusting electricity prices and transaction plans, while the inner layer is led by load aggregators, determining internal electricity prices and energy usage plans. the solution is obtained through the joint use of Karush-Kuhn-Tucker conditions, differential evolution algorithms, and quadratic programming. the study validates that the proposed strategy enhances the economic benefits of all participants, achieving coordinated and optimized operations.

MapReduce is a widely used data-parallel programming model for large-scale data analysis. the framework is shown to be scalable to thousand of computing nodes and reliable on commodity clusters. However, research has shown that there is room for performance improvement of the MapReduce framework. One of the main performance bottlenecks is caused by the all-to-all communication between mappers and reducers, which may saturate the top-of-rack switch and inflate job execution time. Reducing cross-rack communication will improve job performance. In current MapReduce implementation, the task assignment is based on the pull-model, in which cross-rack traffic is difficult to control. In contrast, the MapReduce framework allows more flexibility in assigning reducers to the computing nodes. In this paper, we investigate the reducer placement problem (RPP), which considers the placement of reducers to minimize cross-rack traffic. We devise two optimal algorithms to solve RPP and implement the algorithms in the Hadoop system. We also propose an analytical solution for this problem. Our experiment results with a set of MapReduce applications show that our optimization achieves 9% to 32%performance improvement compared with the unoptimized Hadoop.

A short introduction to the EEG/ERP domain and a software solution for storing and managing of EEG/ERP experiments is presented in this paper. this solution was developed as a standalone web based system available for the community of researches to enable storing of experiments. Because authors' plan, to register this EEG/ERP portal as a recognizable data source, requires providing a domain ontology authors investigate the transformation of stored experiments into the Semantic web form. the transformation of experiments from the EEG/ERP portal into the Semantic web structures that resulted in the presented ontology is presented. Because the EEG/ERP portal is implemented using common programming technologies (object-oriented code, relational database) based on a different approach then the Semantic web technologies, semantic gaps have to be solved. Authors' presented a custom framework that adds missing semantics into the object-oriented code using Java Annotations. the set of designed annotations and its usage is presented. the paper also presents the ontology generated using a developed framework. Subsequently the paper simply describes a registration of the domain ontology within the Neuroscience Informational Framework. the result of this paper is the description of way to sharing a domain experiments using the semantic web technologies.

Unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) are recently envisioned as assist nodes to empower mobile edge computing with the virtue of highly flexible mobility, whereby improving energy efficiency becomes a crucial design issue due to the limited capacity of UAV's battery. this paper presents a fight trajectory and resource allocation optimization scheme for energy-efficient UAV-assisted vehicular edge computing. the joint UAV trajectory planning and resource allocation to minimize the energy consumption while satisfying service requirements is formulated as mixed-integer nonlinear programming. By using successive convex approximation to decompose the joint optimization problem into two convex optimization subproblems, an iteration algorithm that combines geometric-block coordinate descent and convex optimization is proposed to solve it. Simulation results show that the proposed algorithm performs better in terms of optimization efficiency and convergence speed comparing with existing works.

In this paper, an error tolerance design technique is proposed and demonstrated by 28GHz microstrip directional coupler. By including the tolerance requirement of PCB fabrication errors as one of the objective functions, multi-objective optimization searching for the optimal fragment-type structure of the directional coupler can be implemented to acquire both high performance indices and high error tolerance. Design and test of 10-dB directional coupler operating at 28 GHz band on PCB of area of 2.54mm×5.76mm indicates that return loss of 24dB, directivity over 25dB in an operation bandwidth of approximately 22% can be acquired. In addition, the coupler has almost the same fabrication error tolerance as the microstrip coupler operating at the 2 GHz band.

Biogas-solar integrated energy system (IES) can effectively utilize renewable energy and is helpful to carbon neutrality, but its performance improvement relies on the utilized optimal design methods. the optimal design of system needs to consider not only the combination of capacity and operation, but also the synergy of biogas production, energy conversion, storage and demand. therefore, this study proposes a bi-level optimal design method of the biogas-solar IES. First, a thermodynamic model of biogas production and an electrical demand response (DR) program are introduced to construct a synergy optimal design problem. then, the optimization problem is formulated as a bi-level iterative model. the upper-level model aims to improve the IES economy and optimizes the capacities of renewables, energy conversion and storage components; the lower-level model minimizes the operation cost and optimizes the operation scheme of supply and demand sides. And the iterative optimization mechanisms between the two levels are established. Finally, a hybrid algorithm combining a genetic algorithm and sequential quadratic programming method is proposed to solve the bi-level model. Simulation results show the advantages of the proposed method in reducing total cost and carbon emissions.

Informatics engineering (IE) students must have a comprehensive competency to innovate a product through learning. this purpose can be combined with Lean Startup model. this study describes the implementation of Lean Startup in learning outcomes development for IE students. there are six activities to implement Lean Startup to obtain the learning outcomes, such as defining overall competency, distributing supporting competency, arranging supporting courses, learning design, learning evaluation, and learning assessment. the case study conducted in the Information Technology Department of State Polytechnic of Jember shows that all courses in one semester could support the students to innovate a product as their learning evaluation. this is indicated by the number of increasing products as learning outcomes in the past four years. the assessment result also presents that most of the customers contributing to the learning process were satisfied with their learning results and it is also described by the number of MoU with the customers that were significantly increased. the conclusion of this study confirms that the Lean Startup model will stimulate the IE students to collaborate for customers on a new product in every semester.

Modular multilevel converter (MMC) has gradually become the preferred converter topology for high voltage direct current (HVDC) technology due to its clear advantages of low power consumption and modularity, its safe and reliable operation is of great significance to grid safety and energy utilization. therefore, it is very important to model and analyze the system reliability of MMC. this paper firstly describes the commonly used system-level reliability modeling methods. then on this basis, under the premise of considering the correlation between sub-modules, reliability analysis and modeling of several common sub-module topologies in modular multilevel converters are carried out. Finally, use actual engineering data as a reference to calculate the reliability of different topology systems and draw the three-dimensional curves of system reliability changes by using software programming. By comparing the results, the influence of the sub-module topology on the system reliability is analyzed, which provides a theoretical basis for the planning and design of actual projects.

Based on the current situation of domestic and international automated warehouse analysis and research, according to user requirements for the project. SIEMENS S7-300 PLC as the core through the analysis of the stacker operation process, puts forward a general design scheme of stereoscopic warehouse. By improving structure of warehouse to meet the storage requirements of different goods. Use STEP7 programming software and modular program design to achieve the design of closed loop control systems, data communication via the fieldbus complete PC and PLC. Select the modules needed for PLC, AC servo motor and corresponding servo drives. the positioning principle and accuracy of the stacker are analyzed, and the positioning process is described in detail. In accordance with the need of different goods, the system is the first to use a new model that is a system has two ways of working. through experimental test, the system control effect is good, in actual operation shows that this paper studies the stereo warehouse system has certain superiority, practical and efficient, simple manipulation, has certain use and promotion value.
