Active distribution network (ADN) expansion planning by modeling network active management is addressed in this paper. In this regard the expansion of distributed energy resources (DERs) and distribution network assets are jointly planned. In the proposed model active management is applied to efficiently utilize the DERs in the planning problem and alleviated the uncertainties. In this paper energy storage systems (ESSs) as an important DER are utilized in active management framework. To model active management of the network, based on load and renewable energy resources' behavior, some operating levels are regarded for each planning time stage. the objective is to minimize the net present worth of investment, maintenance and operation costs for all planning stages and operating levels. As the problem is solved the expansion plans of network alternatives including feeders, transformers, and substations as long as DERs including micro turbines, wind turbines and ESSs are extracted. Furthermore, the optimal operations of the network and DERs are obtained through the operating levels. Associated uncertainties are considered using a correlated scenario based approach. the problem is mathematically modeled in the form of mixed integer linear programming (MILP).

We address the problem of robust network localization in realistic mixed LOS/NLOS environments. We make use of the fact that the bias of range measurement errors is not only non-negative but also sparse when LOS dominates, which has been long overlooked in the existing literature. To exploit these two properties, we introduce a sparsity-promoting regularization term and relax the resulting optimization problem to a semi-definite programming (SDP) problem. the proposed method admits a neat mathematical formulation and is computationally cheap. Moreover, its global convergence is guaranteed and it achieves good robustness against NLOS measurements. In numerical results, the proposed method outperforms representative state-of-the-art SDP approaches, in terms of both localization accuracy and computational efficiency.

In this paper,a purchasing office location problem that the multinational corporations consider setting up some purchasing offices in China under the economy globalization is investigated.A 0-1 integer programming model,which objective is to minimize the total cost including renting or purchasing hardware and software cost,labor costs and travel costs,is built via analyzing the relevant factors of influencing the instauration of the *** proposed model,which is solved by ILOG Company s optimization software CPLEX,is examined its validity on an experimental example.

the paper develops a new technique to reduce the peak to average power ratio (PAPR) in OFDM modulation for a MIMO system. the proposed method exploits the eigen-beamforming mode (EM) in MIMO systems which is a common feature in 4th generation standards: WiMAX and LTE. these systems use the same beamforming weights for dedicated pilots and data so the weights are interpreted as a channel effect from the receiver perspective. there is no need to invert the weights at the receiver side since it is compensated for in channel equalization. Beamforming performance depends on the relative phase difference between antennas but is unaffected by a phase shift common to all antennas. In contrast, PAPR changes with the common phase shift. An effective optimization technique based on Sequential Quadratic programming is proposed to compute the common phase shifts that minimize the PAPR.

In minimally invasive surgery (MIS), a surgical endoscope is an essential instrument that provides visualization for the surgeon. One principal characteristic of surgical instruments is that remote center of motion (RCM) must be respected. To meet such a practical requirement, many physical RCM mechanisms and software-based RCM generation algorithms have been proposed. As compared with physical RCM mechanisms, RCM generation algorithms possess more flexibility due to the fact that the RCM point can be adjusted if required. this paper conducts comparisons of four typical RCM generation algorithms applied to a vision-controlled robotic endoscope under joint constraints. Kinematic models of the robotic endoscope and the four RCM generation algorithms are first briefly introduced. then, a unified control formulation based on quadratic programming (QP) is constructed to incorporate kinematic, RCM, and physical constraints of the robotic endoscope. Based on the unified control scheme, comparative simulations and experiments are performed. the advantages and disadvantages of the four typical RCM generation algorithms are analyzed and discussed. When performing a same peg transfer task in the simulations, the RCM errors synthesized by RCM generation algorithms designed using a plane equation and an insertion equation are smaller. In the physical experiments, there are few differences in the RCM errors. Nevertheless, it is revealed that the joint velocities corresponding to the RCM generation algorithm based on a plane equation are the smallest, which means that the joint angles change more gently and it can be more friendly to MIS.

With the recent increasing interest in the study of the emotional component of speech signals, a number of methods have been put forth to ascertain the emotional content of uttered words. Often, we can tell how someone is feeling by looking at their faces. Another method is to detect someone’s emotions by auditory cues or speech. With a more straightforward architecture and fewer learnable parameters, the aim of this paper is to identify someone’s emotion from an audio input. three aspects have been suggested in the proposed methodology named MFCC (Mel-frequency Cepstral Coefficients), Mel-spectrogram and Chromagram, and MLP (Multilayer Perceptron). these features have been employed in this paper, because they perform better. MLP is a supervised machine learning, which is frequently used in various research to categorize human voice recognition. In addition, MLPs are appropriate for classification prediction issues where inputs are given as a class or label. they are also appropriate for regression prediction issues in which a real-valued quantity is forecasted from a collection of inputs. With the help of our proposed methods, we are able to achieve an accuracy of 80% on the RAVDESS Dataset.

Growth of Internet of things (IoT), in leaps and bounds has diverted major attention towards wireless sensor networks and its associated routing protocols. Use of a routing protocol which is not suitable for a particular scenario may result in a loss of packets. this in turn will lead to retransmissions which has an obvious impact on bandwidth, the amount of power being consumed among various other parameters. these issues are to be considered since IoT involves Low Power and Lossy Networks (LLNs) formed using low power devices. Hence for IoT applications, Routing Protocol for LLNs (RPL) is custom designed. the objective of this study is to describe the RPL protocol and the operating system contiki which paves the way for its reliable implementation. Also, a collective information regarding RPL implementation is provided for better comparison.

this paper provides an overview of different string matching algorithms in parallel environments. In this work, we have evaluated several algorithms, such as Knuth-Morris-Pratt, Boyer-Moore algorithm, Boyer Moore Horspool Algorithm, Zhu Takaoka algorithm, Quick Search Algorithm, BR Algorithm, Fast Searching algorithm, SSABS algorithm, TVSBS algorithm, ZTMBH algorithm and BRBMH algorithm. Static pattern of string matching algorithms are widely used for searching. For comparisons of speed different algorithms are implemented with parallel programming technique of MPI Standard, for a large text file with a pattern of small length. A Beowulf based homogenous cluster architecture was developed which has a performance of 81 Gigabits floating point operations per second in searching environment. the result of pattern searching showed the variation of performance with this customized cluster architecture for variable number of compute nodes with different pattern lengths. Nearly 80% of the searching code part works in parallel. the performance of string search algorithm is based on the network bandwidth and the selection of algorithms used. Depending on certain applications, different algorithm can be used. It is observed that the cluster searching architecture provides better speed with different algorithms. In general, from the experiments, BRBMH Algorithm is found to be efficient for a general string searching applications.

Regular expressions can describe specific matching rules, which can be used to determine the string format or extract the string content. Until now, regular expressions have been widely used in various operating systems and have been supported by most programming languages. However, the understanding of regular expressions is challenging for end-users or developers, who may not familiar with the syntax of regular expressions. therefore, it is pressing for researchers to put forward effective methods to automatically generate functional descriptions for regular expressions. In this study, we formalize the description generation of the regular expression as a neural machine translation task. then we propose a fully data-driven method RegexExplainer based on Transformer. Specifically, it uses Regex Encoder and AST Encoder to jointly learn the encoding information of regular expressions. In order to confirm the effectiveness of RegexExplainer, we build a high-quality corpus that consists of 107,851 pairs of regular expressions along with their corresponding descriptions. the final experimental results demonstrate that RegexExplainer is able to attain better performance compared to the state-of-the-art baselines when it comes to three performance measures.
