this research delves into the idea of improving the likelihood of mission success in multi-component systems through selective maintenance during downtime. It considers uncertainties surrounding future mission conditions. Stochastic programming is utilized to represent these uncertainties accurately. the study presents two distinct models: one focusing on uncertainty in operational conditions, while the other expands to include uncertainties in operating time. the efficacy of the proposed model underscores the importance of integrating uncertainty considerations into the broader model, enhancing our understanding of the system's performance robustness. © 2024 IEEE.

this study addresses the assembly line balancing problem (ALBP) in the sewing line of a footwear company with constraints not only on precedence relation of tasks and workstation's cycle time but also on resource constraints. the resource constraint is considered as a type of machines on each workstation in which every station can be operated by only one type of machine. We propose a dynamic programming algorithm, which can handle all the aforementioned constraints and is expected to find the optimal solution, to solve the resource constrained ALBP. the proposed dynamic programming is applied to 18 tested instances from a footwear company. the experimental results show that the proposed dynamic programming can achieve a promising performance for the real-world cases in footwear manufacturing. © 2017 IEEE.

A velocity planning strategy for the autonomous-rail rapid transit (art) based on the pseudospectral (PS) method is proposed in this paper. the PS method is used as a replanning algorithm provided with its real-time performance. the multi-particle model is adopted in the dynamics model of art. the energy consumption of art is chosen as the optimization goal, and the arrival time and arrival velocity are taken as constraints to ensure economic efficiency and punctuality of the art. When encountering obstacles such as pedestrians and lower-speed vehicles, the velocity planning strategy based on the PS method is applied to re-plan velocity of the art. Performance of the proposed strategy is evaluated by comparing with the strategy to track the original velocity planned offline by dynamic programming (DP) algorithm. the simulation results in Matlab/Simulink- Trucksim environment illustrate that the PS based method has better real-time performance than the DP based method. the proposed planning strategy also makes art arrive at the next station punctually, as well as leading to 36.21% reduction of energy consumption compared with the DP based method. Results of the jerk of the art with PS strategy also show better performance in passenger comfort. © 2020 IEEE.

this study intended to develop a new and improved approach to solve completely Fully Fuzzy Linear programming Problems(FFLPP) with Symmetric Trapezoidal Fuzzy Numbers(STFN) and findings results are compared with the results of existing methods. this article, first converted Fully Fuzzy LPP to the same Crisp Linear programming Problem (LPP) by defuzzifying STFN. It is also proposed that it be presented an efficient and time-saving method. Finally of the paper, examples are shown in support of the results obtained. © 2022 IEEE.

One of the applications of Data Mining is the extraction of knowledge from time series [1][2]. the Evolutionary Computation (EC) and the artificial Neural Networks (ANNs) have proved to be suitable in Data Mining for handling this type of series [3] [4]. this paper presents the use of Genetic programming (GP) for the prediction of time series in the field of Civil engineering where the predictive structure does not follow the classic paradigms. In this specific case, the GP technique is applied to two phenomenon that models the process where, for a specific area, the fallen rain concentrates and flows on the surface, and later from the water flows is predicted the solids transport. In this article it is shown the Genetic programming technique use for the water flows and the solids transport prediction. It is achieved good results both in the water flow prediction as in the solids transport prediction.

this paper focuses on spatial-temporal allocation of the sensors in multi-fighter cooperative detection. Airborne sensor must be coordinated efficiently to detect battlefield situation for finishing the operation which is regarded as main facilities to get scene information. According to the relationship between detection information and sensor performance, an allocation method by linear programming is proposed for improving the sensors' ability entirely. Firstly the parameters of sensor detection performance is changed into a linear value for operation, then gain the information measurement matrix among sensors and targets or detection cell, finally transform the optimization problem into a linear programming to solve. the base of spatial-temporal allocation is the relationship that sensors' different ability from the object in the combat field, so the allocation result must be update terminal by the change of operation platform. In this way, a whole sensor system with a high performance consists of individual sensors. © 2018 IEEE.

With the grid connection of distributed generation and the increasing complexity of load types, the traditional distribution network reconfiguration model has not considered the integrated load model. therefore, this paper proposes a mixed integer linear programming model of active distribution network (ADN) considering ZIP load model. Based on the second-order cone power flow model of radial distribution network, ZIP load model is equivalent to ZP load model by linear regression method, and the ADN reconfiguration model based on mixed integer second-order cone programming is established. the second-order cone constraint is linearized by polyhedron approximation, and the ADN reconfiguration model based on mixed integer linear programming is established. the simulation results of three different scale distribution systems show that the accuracy of the ADN reconfiguration model based on mixed integer linear programming is almost the same as that based on mixed integer second-order cone programming, but the optimization efficiency is improved by 15% sim 30%, which has high optimization accuracy and efficiency. © 2021 IEEE.

Web programming is a mandatory course in the syllabus of any BSc degree in Informatics engineering. But, nowadays, designing and teaching an up-to-date web programming course is a very demanding challenge due to the fast technological advances that imposes a continuous update of the concepts, techniques, and tools. Nowadays, from a professional perspective, web development is starting to converge on merging front-end and back-end development. this requires new skills for web developers, traditionally separated into two groups (front-end and back-end), that are still not accompanied by academia web programming courses. this future trend motivates us for designing a higher education course that combines Web design and server-side programming skills in a unified full-stack of Web technologies to develop modern web applications. the paper intends to present and discuss a new higher education course for a curricular unit in Web programming of a degree in Informatics in the European higher education system. the course is aligned with the new trends, providing students with fundamentals and basic skills in the development of Web applications, using the full-stack approach to Web development supported by the MEAN stack architecture.
