the visual microphone is a passive remote sound recovery technique by analysing subtle vibrations in a video of an object vibrating due to sound. Multiple research endeavours have been done in improving the quality of the recovered sound, but so far none has been done on investigating the effect of denoising the videos frame by frame prior to the sound recovery using the visual microphone. this work fills in that gap, and evaluates the quality of the recovered sound based on human intelligibility metrics and simple signal-to-noise ratio metrics. Our best results indicated performing image denoising before sound recovery can reduce the noise power by up to 47.16 %, increase the intelligibility by 9.11 % and signal-to-noise ratio by 17.97 %. It is important to perform image denoising before sound recovery when the recorded videos are very noisy. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

the accuracy of the rotation angle measurement method based on machine vision with the line as the reference target is limited by line detection accuracy. the Line Segment Detector (LSD) method is a high precision and effective method, but there are detected false lines and discontinuous lines when the LSD method is actually used to detect the rotating lines in the images. In this paper, we adjust three parts of the LSD method: image scaling, gradient magnitude threshold, and aligned points density threshold to detect lines accurately. the high precision detection of the rotating line is obtained by our adjusted method. Besides, the rotation angle measurement accuracy with the lines detected by our adjusted LSD reaches the measurement error level of arcseconds, which proves its effective performance. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

the proposed research paper explore Haze Removal a specific aspect of digital image processing. Visual images are often adversely affected by haze arising out of natural atmospheric phenomena such as moisture, aerosols, dust etc. or human action-smoke from fires, industrial emissions etc. Apart from these atmospheric factors, image quality could also be impacted by the positioning of the camera. Degradation of image quality can seriously affect critical decision making andleadeven to serious accidents. Our focus is to examine, characterize and quantify the difference of a clear digital image from a hazeaffected one and also to improve haze-affected images. We consider color images as well as grey scale ones. We apply the Dark Channel prior method in conjunction with approxdcp algorithm of Imreduce. © 2020 IEEE.

image compression based on wavelet transform is to apply wavelet algorithm to multi-resolution decomposition of the image, and to achieve image compression by encoding the obtained wavelet coefficients. First, multi-level wavelet decomposition is performed on the image to obtain the corresponding wavelet coefficients. then, each layer of wavelet coefficients is quantized to obtain quantized coefficient objects. Finally, the quantized coefficient objects are encoded to obtain compression results. this paper uses Haar wavelet as the wavelet base, selects the 2-level decomposition scale, performs wavelet transform, compresses the reconstructed image by setting a threshold, and calculates the file size ratio and PSNR value before and after compression. the wavelet reconstruction function uses the coefficient matrix, dimensionality information and wavelet base type obtained by wavelet decomposition to perform wavelet reconstruction. the global threshold setting method is selected, and the wavelet high-frequency coefficients are threshold filtered to achieve compression before the reconstruction operation, and then the compressed image is obtained through wavelet reconstruction. After the image has undergone wavelet transformation with a specified scale, most of the energy is concentrated in the fractional part of the wavelet decomposition coefficients. the coefficients of other parts are set to constants by setting a threshold, and only a few decomposition coefficients are retained to represent the entire *** experimental results show that the storage space of the compressed image is greatly saved and the compressed image does not change significantly from the original image visually. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

this paper presents an image recommendation system called 'News2image', which takes as input a news text and outputs a small set of images selected from the database such that the selected images present contexts similar to the keywords of the input text. the proposed framework starts by preprocessing and summarizing the news for the selection of its keywords, which are then converted to vectors using word2vec. the framework associates each database image with a set of sentences describing its content using image captioning. After preprocessing the sentences and translating them into the word vectors as performed for input news texts, the word subspaces are compared using the Mutual Subspace Method (MSM). Experimental evaluation of the proposed framework including a comparison with the previous approach demonstrates its overall effectiveness. © 2020 IEEE.

digital processing of remotely sensed image data has been great importance in recent times. this research work discusses task distribution method in parallel image processing and load balancing under the circumstance of multi-Tasks and multi-processors in remote sensing. Task distribution method can speed up computation and improve efficiency and perform larger computations which are not possible on single processor system. the tasks are distributed based on the segmentation of color and the Support Vector Machine (SVM) is used to classify the indices of the input image and intends to design and improve the color segmentation based task distribution method for index classification using machine learning. In the system, the RGB satellite image is used as an input image and the output is the four indices of forest, building, road and land the results of the system are more accurate and less time consumption than non-distributed computing methods. It is implemented in MATLAB platform with parallel computation toolbox because the system can solve computationally and data-intensive tasks using multicore processors and clusters of computer. © 2020 IEEE.

Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) is one of the core algorithms in digital signal processing. the traditional FFT processing method can no longer meet the data processing requirements, so the implementation and optimization of the better performance radix-4 FFT algorithm has very important research value. Based on FPGA technology, this paper proposes a design scheme of radix-4 FFT algorithm processing system. By optimizing the butterfly processing unit, the system realizes a high-performance FFT algorithm processing system with characteristics of faster operation speed, higher calculation accuracy, easy hardware implementation and large capacity compared with the traditional FFT processing method. It is well suited for scientific computing, image processing and other fields. © 2020 ACM.

With the rapid modernization of the city, power cable has been widely used in the process of urban construction. In the course of cable operation, cable faults become more and more frequent, which has a great impact on national economy and people's life. the method of digital X-ray imaging can realize the nondestructive testing of power cable body and obtain clear and intuitive X-ray digital image. But it lacks the advanced processing and defect recognition method of X-ray digital image, and can not directly detect and identify the cable body and defect from the original digital image. therefore, this paper studies the power cable X-ray digital image advanced processing and buffer layer defect intelligent identification technology. By using gray scale processing technology, the original image gray scale range is compressed to the human eye identifiable range, and then the defect identification is carried out. then the traditional convolution neural network CNN and the full convolution neural network FCN are used to train the image data to realize the intelligent recognition of the power cable buffer layer defect. the research shows that compared with the traditional convolution neural network CNN, the full convolution neural network FCN proposed in this paper has more clear and intuitive recognition effect. © 2020 Institute of Physics Publishing. Science and technology are making earth-shaking changes in our daily lives, and as a special group, blind people should enjoy the fruits of technological progress. Since the traditional blind guiding device can only give rough information about the distance and orientation of the obstacle, the user obtains too little information, and there is still too much unknown fear during the traveling. the guiding effect is not great. therefore, after considering the physical and psychological needs of the blind, this paper designs a system of tactile perception imaging instead of vision. the system collects obstacle information through the camera, performs digital image processing, and then displays it on the tactile imager through special encoding processing. through the sense of touch, the blind person processes the tactile information into image information through the brain, thereby obtaining the size, shape and position information of the obstacle, and then forming a more concrete understanding of the obstacle, so that the blind can perfectly avoid the obstacle. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.
