the Architecture, Engineering, and Construction industry (AEC) is increasingly embracing automation, especially through advancements in Artificial Intelligence (AI). this paper proposes Levels of Automation (LOA) for architectural tasks, categorizing them into creative, documentation and planning, and physically demanding tasks. the study outlines LOA for each category, progressing from basic digital assistance to autonomous machine-driven operations in design and construction. Challenges and implications of varied automation levels are discussed, emphasizing dynamic task allocation based on context, available technology, and task complexity. Decision-making processes are examined concerning the suitability of AI and human intervention. Safety, adaptability, and task-specific considerations are highlighted in selecting suitable LOAs. this paper contributes to the ongoing discourse on automation in architecture, emphasizing the collaborative potential of humans and machines. As automation becomes inevitable in the AEC industry, selecting appropriate LOAs promises enhanced productivity, safety, cost-effectiveness, and overall project quality.

the sustained operational losses in rail transit, including subway systems, present a significant challenge for many major cities today. the question of how to generate revenue for subways has consistently been a prominent topic for architectural layout design and management. However, due to concerns about potential congestion and uncertain commercial potential, there has been persistent scepticism regarding the practice of incorporating retail spaces into existing subway stations to enhance non-ticket revenue. this study employed an Agent-Based Modelling approach using the MassMotion software to establish a framework that evaluates and optimizes the layout of retail spaces in existing subway stations based on density and visual analysis. the proposed methodology and digital approach would inform architects and decision-makers about optimized retail layout and spot allocation options that are beneficial for creating commercial value and alleviating congestion.

this paper explores the evolution of architecture within an urban scale, utilizing Generative Adversarial Networks (GANs) to increase diversity and suggest various alternatives. Drawing inspiration from Henri Bergson's concepts of creative evolution, GANs' non-deterministic nature echoes Bergson's emphasis on creativity within evolutionary processes in urban design. Leveraging GANs' latent space, this study envisions a framework for AI-driven architectural generation, merging Bergson's ideas of creative intuition with AI's adaptive potential. Using Seoul as a case study, integrating Kevin Lynch's principles and symbolic representation techniques like the Nolli map, the research navigates urban spaces to create cohesive morphologies. Employing 2D GAN-based analysis and integrating 3D GAN, the study discerns urban layouts and building configurations. Additional diffusion models refine the 3D GAN outputs, expediting rendering and visualization phases, suggesting an innovative, data-driven architectural design methodology. By amalgamating diverse AI models into a cohesive workflow, it blends traditional architectural wisdom with cutting-edge computational capabilities, heralding a paradigm shift in architectural innovation.

Existing guide equipment and methods are not fully suitable for the visually impaired (VI) shop in the crowded and narrow farmers' market. Aim assist VI to purchase food more conveniently, this paper proposes computer and vision aided mapping (CVAM) algorithm. It utilizes threshold function to quickly convert the CAD layout of the farmer's market into a navigation-specific grid map. Furthermore, CVAM utilizes the A-star method to traverse each stall, and employs a classification camera based deep learning to identify and record the products on stall. Additionally, this paper proposes a visually aided shopping (VAS) algorithm that allows robot minor seller to select and weigh products. It employs the KCF method to track the seller's hand movements and uses a classification camera to ensure that the products selected by the seller are consistent withthe VI's expectations. Subsequently, it uses BP neural network to read the electronic scale indication and feed it back to VI. the experiments conducted in this study confirmed that the guide robot designed in this study is not only capable of navigating the farmer's market for VI, but also greatly improves mapping efficiency compared with general mapping method. Particularly, VAS successfully supervises the entire process of seller selecting and weighing products, preventing them from deliberately deceiving VI.
