this research study proposes and implements a Sign-to-Text translation system to bridge communication gaps for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) community. the proposed system must utilize improvements in computer vision, natural language processing, and machine learning to interpret gestures in American Sign Language and translate them into audible text in real-time. the proposed system employs CNN for hand and body gesture recognition and RNN for sequence prediction for accuracy in fluency, that is, in translation. Preliminary test runs seem to be very promising and the system was able to recognize 92% of common ASL phrases. this research study discusses about the proposed architecture, training methodologies, and performance evaluations of the Sign-to-Text system; it points towards its potential to be used ultimately in enhancing accessibility and inclusiveness for DHH individuals across a range of social and professional environment.

the most prevalent object detection algorithms are predominantly developed using NVIDIA's Compute Unified Device Architecture (CUDA) and are optimised for NVIDIA hardware. In view of the growing complexity and volatility of the international security environment, there is a pressing need to accelerate the domestic development of critical systems. this study presents the design of a domestic, vehicle-mounted heterogeneous computing platform based on locally manufactured chips, with the objective of replacing foreign dependencies in artificial intelligence applications. the transfer of object detection algorithms from foreign chip architectures to domestic ones is underway, with the objective of ensuring compatibility and optimisation for local hardware. Comparative experiments demonstrate that the domestic intelligent object detection system not only achieves equivalent accuracy to comparable foreign systems but also delivers performance improvements of up to 73.11%. these findings highlight the potential of domestic technologies to not only meet but exceed the standards of foreign solutions in high-performance computing tasks that are essential for national security and technological autonomy.

this research uses image processing technology with the deep learning methods, which can simulate the human vision to develop an artificial model for examining and classifying the types of thai fruit. the experiment is conducted to classify five types of thai fruits, namely CustardApple, Rambutan, RoseApple, Mangosteen and Durian,. these fruit samples are collected as 300 images of each type in 2D digital photographs from various views. the experimental results shown that the use of deep learning by the convolutional neural network (CNN) based on the model of EfficientNet-B0 architecture provides the excellent classification accuracy at 99%.

the identification of target suspects in images and videos from multi-source heterogeneous data is a difficult task in criminal investigation. In criminal scene analysis during law enforcement, images and videos from surveillance applications and security systems play an important role in providing visual files for the scene. With the rise of big data, artificial intelligence, the Internet of things, blockchain, and cyberspace security, it is particularly important to improve the application of computer technology in drug crime cases and achieve data-driven drug crime behavior prediction. this paper builds police subject-specific databases such as drug addicts, drug traffickers, key personnel, and fugitives, and achieves drug crime behavior prediction and warning based on identity information, facial recognition and storage and picture comparison using a combination of Python and OpenCV. It provides a useful exploration for combating Drug Crime.

this research presents an intelligent fault diagnosis method for gearbox systems in rotating machinery using Generative Adversarial Networks (GANs). Due to variable speeds and the scarcity of reliable data in real-world conditions, accurate fault detection faces significant challenges. While GANs can generate realistic synthetic data, this study leverages adversarial training, aiming to make the diagnostic system resilient to speed variations. By combining adversarial learning with real data, diagnostic models can better recognize various fault patterns and improve detection accuracy. the primary goal of this study is to enhance the precision and reliability of gearbox fault diagnosis under different operational conditions using GANs. With deep learning techniques, the proposed approach can identify various gearbox faults even under limited and fluctuating data conditions. Experimental results demonstrate that this approach improves detection performance and fault classification accuracy compared to traditional methods.

the progressive adoption of artificial intelligence and advanced communication technologies within railway control and automation has brought up a huge potential in terms of optimisation, learning and adaptation, due to the so-called "self-x" capabilities;however, it has also raised several dependability concerns due to the lack of measurable trust that is needed for certification purposes. In this paper, we provide a vision of future train control that builds upon existing automatic train operation, protection, and supervision paradigms. We will define the basic concepts for autonomous driving in digital railways, and summarise its feasibility in terms of challenges and opportunities, including explainability, autonomic computing, and digital twins. Due to the clear architectural distinction, automatic train protection can act as a safety envelope for intelligent operation to optimise energy, comfort, and capacity, while intelligent protection based on signal recognition and obstacle detection can improve safety through advanced driving assistance.

Since 1980s, machine translation technology has witnessed a rapid development. Aligned parallel corpus, either as a resource for computer-assisted translation or as a training corpus for statistical machine translation, exhibits great potential in application. the method of EBMT proposed by Nagao Makoto provides a chance for automatic translation of poetry, which has been considered as a thorny problem in translation. this paper introduces the construction and processing of a Parallel Corpus for Tang Poetry and Song Lyrics (PCTS). As is known to all, bilingual parallel corpora serve as fundamental resources for language teaching and research. With a concordancer, language teachers and learners will gain a better understanding of a certain line in its various contexts, in which the rhetorical device and rhyming pattern can also be obtained.

We utilized interpretable deep learning to identify key genes and potential biomarkers associated with Alzheimer’s disease (AD). AD-related gene expression data from GEO datasets and AlzData were collected. To create a training set, we performed differential expression analysis to delete low-expressed genes. To explore disease-related genes and potential biomarkers, we employed a pathway-centric deep learning network, which integrated gene expression data with established biological pathways, building upon the foundation of PASNet. Our study employed a pathway-related deep learning model based on PASNet combined with bioinformatic analysis for AD risk prediction, and achieved a good performance (AUC = 0.82, F1 score = 0.73). the model accurately classified AD patients based on gene expression data from the brain tissue while providing interpretability deep neural networks. Potential biomarkers (DYNC1I1, DNAJC1, SCRIB, TFEB, MAPKAPK3) and biological pathways (Senescence-Associated Secretory Phenotype, Transcriptional activity of SMAD2/SMAD3:SMAD4 heterotrimer, Toll-like Receptor Cascades) associated with AD were identified. We have employed a combination of bioinformatics analysis and deep learning models to identify a series of candidate genes associated with the diagnosis of Alzheimer’s disease (AD). Moreover, we have validated their potential as biomarkers through the utilization of external datasets, and finally focus on the five genes DYNC1I1, DNAJC1, SCRIB, TFEB, and MAPKAPK3.

the continuous evolution of smart grid technology has promoted the intelligent level of power dispatching automation systems to meet more stringent requirements and challenges. In the context of the growing demand for unified grid standards in power systems, there is an increasing importance in the collaborative integration and sharing of models, data, and graphs. this paper proposes a set of intelligent identification schemes for power grid graphics, combining convolutional neural network and OCR technology with CAD and PDF graphics files commonly used in power grids. the proposed solution is capable of accurately identifying information such as standard components, topology associations, and device labels in power grid graphs, and automatically converting this information into standard CIM/G file format. Furthermore, by introducing natural language processing technology, this paper effectively establishes a close relationship between graphic elements in CIM/G files and power grid model data, and achieves accurate recognition of graphic elements in power grid wiring diagrams, accurate extraction of character information, and comprehensive analysis of topology structure. the implementation of these technological innovations has established a solid foundation for advanced functions, such as automated management and rapid response to failures of the smart grid. the model association method employs image recognition to construct a power grid pattern recognition platform that assists dispatch centre management. the platform has been shown to refine graphics, integrate AI efficiency, provide a user-friendly interface, reduce labour requirements, ensure information accuracy and stabilise the operation of smart grids. through the specific application in the engineering field, it is verified that this method improves the efficiency of model correlation, reduces the work of manual maintenance, and improves maintenance efficiency.

Pose recognition and object tracking are two classical research topics in computer vision. Recently, pedestrian tracking with consumable drones gets a wide range of applications in aerial photography. In the initialization stage, pedestrian movement in the image causes inaccuracy of the pedestrian bounding box for the tracking algorithm. In this paper, we propose a pose recognition initialized pedestrian tracker for drones. this tracker runs on drone equipped edge computing device. First, the skeleton keypoints are detected by the OpenPose convolutional neural network. Second, the pedestrian pose is recognized according to the spatial distribution of all skeleton keypoints and then triggers the pedestrian tracking algorithm. Last but not the least, the rectangular image region of the pedestrian is fed into the tracking algorithm which leads the drone and camera to follow the pedestrian. Experimental results demonstrate that the pose recognition initialized pedestrian tracker for drones proposed in the paper is more accurate and robust compared with the manually labeled bounding box initialized tracker.
