the development of cloud computing technology is becoming more and more mature, but its security problems are always accompanied by it. As an emerging technology, blockchain has the characteristics of decentralization, distributed fault tolerance, and trustworthiness. Applying blockchain technology to solve cloud security problems is a very promising direction, and it is used for protecting cloud data security currently. this paper first analyzes the security threats in the cloud, then briefly introduces the blockchain technology, summarizes the classification of the current blockchain technology to solve the cloud data security problems and defects existed. Finally, a new cloud forensic storage architecture model based on blockchain technology is proposed to protect the cloud data, which lays a foundation for our future research. © 2019 IEEE.

Testing large distributed heterogenous systems in cloud environments is a complex task. this situation becomes especially difficult when carrying out end-to-end tests, in which the whole system is exercised, typically through its graphical user interface (GUI) with impersonated users. these tests are typically expensive to write and time consuming to run. this paper contributes to the solution of this problem by proposing an open source framework called ElasTest, which can be seen as an elastic platform to carry out end-to-end testing for different types of applications, including web and mobile. In particular, this piece or research puts the accent on the capability to impersonate final users, presenting a real case study in which end-to-end tests have been carried out to assess the correctness of real-time communications among browsers using WebRTC.

Changing an established way of working can be a real headache. this is particularly true if there are high stakes involved, e.g., when changing the development process for complex systems. New design methods, such as model-based engineering (MBE) using domain-specific languages (DSLs) promise significant gains, such as cost reductions and improvements in productivity and product quality. However, transitioning between design methods comes with a great deal of uncertainty, as any approach has associated pains. While the gains may be intuitively appreciated, it may be less clear what the new pains will be and whether or not they will cancel out the gains. For this reason, it may sometimes feel safer to stick with the devil you know than to meet the one you do not, preventing the full design potential of the company from being reached. this paper is an experience report from an investigation into how to mitigate the pains associated with a transition to a model-based design flow using DSLs. the main contributions of the paper are: 1) a list of 14 pains related to MBE as a technology that is representative of our industrial partners designing high-tech systems in different domains, 2) a selected subset of six pains is positioned with respect to the state-of-the-practice, 3) practical experiences and pain-mitigation techniques from applying a model-based design process using DSLs to an industrial case study, and 4) a list of three open issues that require further research.

this work reports on early results from CITADEL project that aims at creating an ecosystem of best practices, tools, and recommendations to transform Public Administrations with more efficient, inclusive and citizen-centric services. the goal of the recommendations is to support Governments to find out why citizens stop using public services, and use this information to re-adjust provision to bring these citizens back in. Furthermore, it will help identifying why citizens are not using a given public service (due to affordability, accessibility, lack of knowledge, embarrassment, lack of interest, etc.) and, where appropriate, use this information to make public services more attractive, so they start using the services. While recommender systems can enhance experiences by providing targeted information, the entry barriers in terms of data acquisition are very high, often limiting recommender solutions to closed systems of user/context models. the main focus of this work is to provide an architectural model that allows harvesting data from various sources, curating datasets that originate from a multitude of formats and fusing them into semantically enhanced data that contain key performance indicators for the utility of e-Government services. the output can be further processed by analytics and/or recommender engines to suggest public service improvement needs.

With the increase of people’s demand for information retrieval, question answering system as a new generation of retrieval methods has attracted more and more attention. this paper proposes an automated template generation method based on remote supervision. In the process of generating template, in order to identify the keywords express the semantics of the problem, this paper designs an algorithm to mapping entity relationship to keywords by using pattern mining and statistical methods. this method implements automation of template generation, and makes the templates more accurate. For the template matching, by Deep-learning-based template matching algorithm, this paper use vector to represent words, and designs a tree-based convolutional neural network to extract features of the dependency syntax information. Building a neural network model for template prediction. Experimental results show that the above method can effectively improve the matching accuracy compared with the traditional template matching method. © 2019, Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

Current systems engineering efforts are increasingly driven by trade-offs and limitations imposed by multiple factors: Growing product complexity as well as stricter regulatory requirements in domains such as automotive or aviation necessitate advanced design and development methods. At the core of these influencing factors lies a consideration of competing non-functional concerns, such as safety and reliability, performance, and the fulfillment of quality requirements. In an attempt to cope with these aspects, incremental evolution of model-based engineering practice has produced heterogeneous tool environments without proper integration and exchange of design artifacts. In order to overcome these shortcomings of current engineering practice, we propose a holistic, model-based architecture and analysis framework for seamless design, analysis, and evolution of integrated system models. We describe how heterogeneous domain-specific modeling languages can be embedded into a common general-purpose model in order to facilitate the integration between previously disjoint design artifacts. A case study demonstrates the suitability of this methodology for the design of a safety-critical embedded system, a hypothetical gas heating, with respect to reliability engineering and further quality assurance activities. © Springer international Publishing AG, part of Springer Nature 2018.

Cyber-physical Systems are distributed, embedded systems that interact with their physical environment. Typically, these systems consist of several Electronic Control Units using multiple processing cores for the execution. Many systems are applied in safety-critical contexts and have to fulfill hard real-time requirements. the model-driven engineering paradigm enables system developers to consider all requirements in a systematical manner. In the software design phase, they prove the fulfillment of the requirements using model checking. When deploying the software to the executing platform, one important task is to ensure that the runtime scheduling does not violate the verified requirements by neglecting the model checking assumptions. Current model-driven approaches do not consider the problem of deriving feasible execution schedules for embedded multi-core platforms respecting hard real-time requirements. this paper extends the previous work on providing an approach for a semi-automatic synthesis of behavioral models into a deterministic real-time scheduling. We add an approach for the partitioning and mapping development tasks. this extended approach enables the utilization of parallel resources within a single ECU considering the verification assumptions by extending the open tool platform App4mc. We evaluate our approach using an example of a distributed automotive system with hard real-time requirements specified with the MechatronicUML method. © Springer international Publishing AG, part of Springer Nature 2018.

Aiming at the current situations of shield tunnel construction such as surrounding environment complexity, high risks, severe construction difficulties, high technical requirements, and urgent project schedules, innovatively using new technologies of BIM, 3D-based laser scanning, mobile internet, and WebGL to solve engineering problems is proposed. First, based on the BIM standard distributed by the international organization building SMART, a BIM application and implementation standard and an encoding specification for railway shield tunnel are proposed to build a visualization encoding system for tunnel model elements. Second, refined BIM-based modeling and information attachment of related shield tunnel majors have been achieved by utilizing the professional modeling software such as Bentley and Revit, as well as model assembling, model lightweighting, and separate storing of models and data. Last, a self-developed WebGL-based graphics engine is used to achieve the implementation of progress, quality and safety for the tunnel construction. It has been verified through practical engineering that the BIM technology can help to increase the collaboration efficiency and the informatization management level for tunnel engineering, also laying the data and technical foundation for exploring the BIM-based full digital archive of shield tunneling methodology.

Training military readiness can significantly reduce potentially avoidable mistakes in real life situations. Virtual Reality (VR) has been widely used to provide a controlled and immersive medium for training both trainees’ physical and cognitive skills. Despite the tremendous advances in VR-based training for military personnel, the attention has been mainly paid on improving simulation’s realism through hardware tools and enhancing graphics and data input paradigms, rather than augmenting the human-computer interaction. Biocybernetic adaptation is a technique from the physiological computing field that allows creating real-time modulations based on detected human states indicated by psychophysiological responses. Although very sophisticated, the creation of biocybernetic loops has been mainly confined to research laboratories and very complex and invasive setups. Moreover, the combination of VR applications and biocybernetic adaptation has rarely been pursued beyond exploratory experiments. the Biocyber Physical System (BioPhyS) for military training in VR constitutes the first fully integrated, distributed and replicable VR simulator that is biocybernetically modulated. BioPhyS uses neurophysiological and cardiovascular measurements recorded from wearable sensors to detect calmness and cognitive readiness states to create dynamic changes in a VR target shooting simulator. the design process, psychophysiological modeling, and biocybernetic loop technology integration are shown, describing a pilot study carried out with a group of non-military participants. We highlight the software elements used for the VR-biocybernetic integration, and the psychophysiological model created for the real-time system as well as the timeline used to develop the functional prototype. We conclude this paper with a set of guidelines for developing meaningful physiological adaptations in VR applications. © Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2019.
