this paper describes the development and implementation of a smart home automation system for residential buildings, utilizing the Home Assistant platform and various IoT devices. the system aims to improve energy efficiency and user convenience by automating household tasks and enabling remote control through mobile devices, tablets, and computers. It is centered around a Raspberry Pi, integrating Zigbee, Z-Wave, and Wi-Fi communication modules to ensure seamless device in teroperability. Testing demonstrated that the system reduces energy consumption by optimizing heating, lighting, and other electrical systems based on real-Time data and user preferences, while also providing robust security features like device authentication and encrypted communication. However, the system's setup complexity requires advanced technical knowledge and a thorough understanding of automation engineering. Future work will focus on enhancing these aspects and incorporating machine learning for predictive automation based on user behavior. © 2024 IEEE.

the merging of revolutionary technologies like deep learning has greatly affected the healthcare sector, changing diagnosis and decision-making processes. this study tries to explore the role of neural networks in Digital Health research by examining 192 records drawn from the database used by Scopus. Employing a carefully made search term, the study tries to identify nations that excel in book output, primary research subjects, top funding backers, and common research terms in this domain. Notably, the debut paper on AI in smart health appeared in 2011, signalling the origins of a sizeable surge of academic output. India has emerged as the leader in performing study in this area, showing a remarkable growth trend. Furthermore, the research shows that Access from the IEEE is the top magazine, having the largest number of papers within this area. this extensive review serves as an important tool for scholars, policy makers, and healthcare workers, giving deep insights into the development of artificial intelligence in smart Health study. the results show a positive trend, demonstrating that artificial intelligence in Connected Health is set for substantial increase in the future. the creativity and sincerity of this study highlight its importance in developing knowledge and defining the future environment of healthcare innovation. © 2024 IEEE.

the rapid development of blockchain technology has led to many innovations, with the widespread use of smart contracts being particularly notable. However, this trend has spawned diverse blockchain scams, including the Ponzi scheme, which takes the form of Ponzi contracts. Due to blockchain users' misunderstanding of blockchain transparency, this scam can often result in significant financial losses. To complicate matters further, the vast majority of smart contracts deployed on blockchain networks are not open source, and users can only see the contract's bytecode. this situation makes Ponzi contracts even more challenging to identify, making it difficult for users to judge the security and legitimacy of a contract beforehand, thus increasing the risk of being defrauded. Most existing work uses only bytecode for detection and cannot fully utilize the corresponding source code information. In this paper, we propose a novel bimodal learning-fusion framework for enhancing Ponzi contract detection only in the presence of bytecode. Firstly, we employ the semantic-aware neural network to extract semantic feature from source code and bytecode. then, we propose a modal transformation strategy to learn the relationship between source code and bytecode. Finally, a modal attention mechanism is introduced to construct a fusion representation to detect the contract even in the absence of source code modality. Experimental results show that the method performs better than existing methods that use machine learning for detection of Ponzi contracts. © 2024 IEEE.

With the rapid development of tourism, the issue of garbage pollution in scenic areas has become increasingly severe. Traditional manual cleaning methods are inefficient and prone to omissions. To address this problem, this paper proposes a high-precision garbage detection scheme (EYOLO-G) based on an improved YOLO algorithm. By introducing a lightweight network structure (GhostNet and Slim-Neck), a Coordinate Attention mechanism (CA), and a multi-scale receptive field module (RFB), the proposed method effectively enhances the detection accuracy of small-object garbage and improves the real-time performance of the system while reducing the model's parameter count and computational complexity. Experimental results show that the EYOLO-G model achieves mAP@0.5 and mAP@0.5:0.95 scores of 96.20% and 77.77%, respectively, significantly outperforming mainstream object detection algorithms. this provides an efficient and intelligent solution for environmental management in smart scenic areas. © 2024 IEEE.

In response to the post-COVID-19 economic recession, City Y, as part of its smart city initiatives, issued electronic consumption vouchers (ECVs) to boost the market economy. However, some individuals exploited these vouchers, affecting their fairness and effectiveness. thus, this paper presents an unsupervised deep learning framework to detect fraudulent merchants and anomalies in voucher redemptions. We use Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) units combined with an autoencoder (AE) to learn long-term dependencies in time series data. A smoothing unit is also used to reduce prediction bias. the fraud scoring module assesses merchants based on the ratio of anomalous redemptions to total redemptions. Our experimental results show that this approach significantly improves fraud detection accuracy and efficiency, making it a promising tool for maintaining the fairness and effectiveness of ECVs within the smart city ecosystem. © 2025 SPIE.

this article investigates the intricate interplay between artificial intelligence (AI) and development economics by analysing 1,484 articles from Elsevier's Scopus database. the study identifies China as the leading contributor in this field, followed by the United States and the United Kingdom, with India ranking fifth. Network analysis underscores AI's close connection to concepts like the circular economy, health economics, and ethics within development economics. Keywords such as machine learning, big data, deep learning, and sustainability indicate AI's rapid advancement. the article emphasises aligning AI with sustainable development goals, particularly in disaster management and ensuring an inclusive development model. Overcoming AI implementation challenges requires strategic government policies and social science input, addressing security, data privacy, and technology adoption at the grassroots level. In conclusion, well-governed advanced algorithms are poised to shape the future of global economics and contribute to realizing development objectives. © 2023 IEEE.

the Internet of things' (IoT) explosive growth has completely changed how we interact with technology by joining billions of devices - from industrial sensors to smart thermostats - to the global network. Although there are many advantages to this interconnectedness, there are also serious security concerns. Intrusion detection systems (IDS) have become indispensable tools in response to these concerns. they work nonstop to protect the network from intrusions by closely examining network traffic to guarantee its integrity, confidentiality, and availability. Intrusion detection systems (IDS) continue to face difficulties in increasing detection accuracy, decreasing false alarms, and successfully identifying new intrusion patterns in spite of the devoted efforts of researchers. Cyber threat protection for IoT ecosystems is still a major concern, and machine learning (ML)-powered IDS have become more prevalent. © 2024 IEEE.

Two years after the shock undergone by the Italian school ecosystem—due to the lock-down imposed by the COVID-19 at beginning of March 2020—the effects generated by the resulting fully digital immersion have been investigated by a survey administered to a representative sample of school teachers and principals. the analysis of the outcomes, together with their comparison with similar investigations performed in May 2020 and March 2021, shows that the activities carried out in the last two years—from emergency teaching to integrated teaching and, finally, to teaching in a "new normal" condition—have triggered an apparently fast innovation process with beneficial effects on the e-maturity of the system, on the educational processes and on the state of the individual well-being. Although some symptoms of normalization start to be glimpsed, and despite the workload increase induced by the adoption of technologies, the system seems ready to carry out an optimization of the educational processes to include a stable use of didactic activities augmented by technologies and, more in general, of forms of integrated on-line learning. As a corollary, emerges the relevance attributed, in a plebiscite manner, to continuous training (LLL) on learning technologies and digital pedagogy, as well as the need to implement permanent forms of smart working to thin the organizational processes. © 2023, the Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

the fuse on a rapid surging of Internet of things (IoT) devices has germinated smart cities, underscoring a new age of connection and perceptiveness in urban infrastructures. On the one hand, this technological enhancement brings out significant security issues for all the IoT devices, including the threat of data breaches. this research investigates the security breaches concerning the Internet of things devices in smart cities with the prime aim of analyzing the vulnerabilities, potential threats as well as the implication to the 'smart cities' security infrastructure. the study proposes a holistic assessment of challenges stemming from security breaches in smart city ecosystems. through ana- lyzing the real-world scenarios and practicing effective mitigation strategies, the research underpins the substantial significance of having IoT device as an instrument to safeguard the smart city infrastructure integrity and reliability. through the lens of an extensive review of the security breaches that occur from instances of IoT devices within the surroundings of smart cities, this research supplies indispensable viewpoints of the current debate on the security of smart cities. From the synopsis of the evidence coming from numerous research papers with mention of domains such as cyber security, urban planning, and technology implementation, in particular, they could highlight the necessity of not only strong but also solid cybersecurity measures in the digital age. therefore, this research paper which is entirely based on the growing issues of IoT device security breaches in smart cities can be seen as a pioneering one with the aim of eventually setting up a foundation for better protection of the urban area from further occurrences related to growing technological complications. © 2024 IEEE.

the main aims of this study are threefold, that is, (i) exploring patterns of developing smart city and healthy city community, (ii) designing online communication station to support local-level city planning community for the elderly, and (iii) proposing policy for management of city planning for the elderly through developing online communication station based on survey conducted in Ladkrabang Sub-district, Ladkrabang District, Bangkok. this qualitative study was designed within three phases which included Phase One;focusing on survey on patterns of city development and community management of healthy city, Phase Two;designing of online communication station for city of learning, and Phase three;offering policy-making for city planning management of the elderly which integrated an implication of online communication station and evaluating the outcome of the designed online communication station for city of learning in Phase Two. the results from this research showed significant implications for policy-making of city planning management especially for the target elderly, were also informative for stakeholders to utilize as practical guidelines in developing smart city and management of healthy city that required preparation for management and promote of activities to become city of learning. © 2023 IEEE.
