With the development of science and technology, image edge detection and extraction technology, which is one of the most basic and important aspects of digital image processing, is gradually being applied to life science. Currently, image edge detection and extraction for sub-pixel lacks accuracy, which suffers from image noise such as shadow burrs or distortions. To address such challenges, in this paper, we use histogram equalization, bilinear interpolation, and progressive and least-squares fitting methods to extract the high-precision edge contour at a sub-pixel level from complex images with interference noise and aberrations in the edge contour and analyze it. thus, we obtain a new image with uniform grayscale distribution, and no shadow interference or distortion, to extract subpixel images with higher accuracy compared with the original image using bilinear interpolation. And then we extract subpixel edge contours and obtain contour data (number of contour subpixels, contour length) by the improved Canny operator and the FindContours function of the OpenCV library. In this way, the edge information of parts can be extracted from the original fuzzy boundary in smart manufacturing. © 2023, the Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

With the progress of the times, traditional research methods cannot well meet the urgent needs of sustainable development of agricultural economy. therefore, this article aims to study the application of AI technology to promote sustainable development of agricultural economy. Firstly, this article utilizes support vector machines in machine learning techniques to establish a prediction model and optimize the planting optimization techniques in the R area;secondly, it uses deep reinforcement learning technology to construct an intelligent scheduling system for R area, optimizing the scheduling of intelligent agricultural machinery operations;next, this article constructs a long-term and short-term memory network model to make intelligent market predictions based on market data in the R region. Finally, this article takes the irrigation system in R area as an example to conduct experimental evaluation of sustainable development indicators for agricultural economy. the results showed that the irrigation efficiency and water resource utilization rate of irrigation systems using AI (Artificial Intelligence) technology were 24.05% and 25.64% higher than traditional irrigation systems, respectively. During the last year students have been exposed to a continuous evolution of the learning processes (fully online, blended, parallel blended, rotation of the face-to-face activities, etc.) and, often, to a lot of different technologies, with only one common denominator: the carrying out of the educational activities. Despite the peculiarity of the pandemic situation, one year is a time long enough to analyze the evolution of the students’ perceptions and understand if could be put in relation with a possible start-up of processes of technology innovation and/or acceptance. In this article, we present the outcomes of an investigation conducted by means of an online survey at almost one year distance from the first one that involved, like this time, the students of the bachelor course in Educational Science of the University of Tor Vergata: this year 159 students (98% women). We have been able to explore the relevance of many categories of factors: intrinsic to the characteristics of the learning ecosystems, personal, contextual, related to the educational activities, perceived values of the technology-based processes. It appears that the main causal chain moves from the characteristics of the learning ecosystem, toward the impressions about the learning activities and their effectiveness to, finally, the future intentions and expectations. Not very relevant appear to be individual and contextual factors. the overall impressions of the students about the online activities seem to be positive but personal setting (equipment and connectivity) appear to be more effective than that provided by the university, possibly to underline criticalities met with the delivering of parallel blended activities. In addition, students deem very importantly the collaboration/interaction among peers and with the teachers and, as well, collaborative and design activities, while, on the contrary, most of the implemented learning activities seem to have a transmissive nature. © 2022, the Au

the present article is an overview that outlines co-design methodology in constructing an informal process of contextually situated and encouraged knowledge. the shared practices are related to emancipation and participation processes that integrate co-design implementation, as is the case of photovoice. On the other hand, the co-design methodology includes strategies and tools that foster digital literacy in a nonformal education context. In this regard, it is intended to reflect how co-design can also produce knowledge about that social context. Participatory methodologies, as co-design, digital literacy, and collaborative learning, are essential tools for promoting digital inclusion. therefore, "we may say that the anthropological transformations and mediamorphoses are interwoven, reflecting it in the practices of learning, knowledge and in participation in collective life" (Baldi in La comunicación especializada del siglo. the process/product fingerprints framework strategy has been developed to reduce the number of process/product characterisation parameters and establish the functional relationship among them. Recently this strategy was developed using machine learning as it automatically identifies them and minimizes the influence of human decisions. However, the previously developed framework can't be tested for each fingerprint candidate since it requires a lot of computational time for model training and evaluation. Since all combinations can't be considered, accuracy may affect a lot. Hence this study presented a computationally efficient machine learning framework for fingerprints development. Data obtained from a nanosecond pulsed laser ablation process has been used to validate the performance of the proposed framework. the results show that the proposed framework is at least seven times faster than the previously developed framework using the given data set. © 2022 IEEE.

Deep learning has implementations in several disciplines like manufacturing, medical service, farming, and so on. Lately, wearable devices have turned famous with extensive implementations in health monitory system that has accelerated the development of Internet of Medical things (IoMT). IoMT possesses a significant function to perform in lessening the fatality rate by initial diagnosis of illness. the prediction of heart illness remains the main problem in assessing the medical dataset. the proposed study's goal is to identify key characteristics of heart disease prediction using machine learning techniques. Several research works have concentrated on heart illness detection, yet the precision of the outcome is poor. Hence, for enhancing the prediction precision, an IoMT architecture employing Recurrent CONVoluted neural networks (Rec-CONVnet) is proffered for the detection of heart illness. Rec-CONVnet's learning technique relies on gradient-based learning and is prone to becoming stuck in local minima. Age, sex, chest discomfort, blood sugar, Blood pressure (BP), and other factors are acquired from clinical records to estimate the risk of heart disease. Heart state is recognized by classifying acquired sensor data employing Rec-CONVnet. Simulation and assessment are carried out to exhibit that Rec-CONVnet performs marvelously concerning illness prediction. Outcomes of the simulation indicate that Rec-CONVnet prediction paradigm attains finer precision than the rest of the techniques. the proffered Rec-CONVnet attains an F1-score of 97%, FPR of 64.6%, accuracy rate of 96.4%, and precision 76.2%. © 2022 IEEE.

A digital certificate is issued by a (usually TRUSTED) certifying authority. the certificates are the basis for providing privacy, authenticity, integration and non-repudiation (referred to as PAIN properties). However, there may be cases when CAs are either negligent, compromised or corrupted enough to issue fake certificates, which can further compromise the entire PKI ecosystem and victimize millions through fake artefacts (fake websites, forged signatures etc.). Several initiatives like Certificate Transparency has been started to ensure proper transparency in the issuance, revocation and audit of the certificate. However, still some caveats need to be addressed. through this paper, we propose an online system PRAMANIK for certificate validation before issuance, certificate store on a blockchain, certificate validator and a querier (augmented by database operation and API support) to build a robust PKI ecosystem for certificate management. © 2022 IEEE.

With the development of wearable technologies, a new kind of healthcare data has become valuable as medical information. these data provide meaningful information regarding an individual’s physiological and psychological states, such as activity level, mood, stress, and cognitive health. these biomarkers are named digital since they are collected from digital devices integrated with various sensors. In this study, we explore digital biomarkers related to stress modality by examining data collected from mobile phones and smartwatches. We utilize machine learning techniques on the Tesserae dataset, precisely Random Forest, to extract stress biomarkers. Using feature selection techniques, we utilize weather, activity, heart rate (HR), stress, sleep, and location (work-home) measurements from wearables to determine the most important stress-related biomarkers. We believe we contribute to interpreting stress biomarkers with a high range of features from different devices. In addition, we classify the 5 different stress levels with the most important features, and our results show that we can achieve 85 % overall class accuracy by adjusting class imbalance and adding extra features related to personality characteristics. We perform similar and even better results in recognizing stress states with digital biomarkers in a daily-life scenario targeting a higher number of classes compared to the related studies. © 2023, ICST Institute for Computer Sciences, Social Informatics and Telecommunications Engineering.

Fish resources play a crucial role in Russia’s economy, especially given its extensive coastline, vast water areas, and rich marine and freshwater resources. Addressing the decline and restoration of fish populations, a consequence of farming practices, illegal fishing, and environmental catastrophes, stands as a critical issue in today’s world. In Russia in recent years, there has been active construction and development of fish farms, fisheries and biological laboratories, partly due to economic difficulties. One of the most valuable fish species is sturgeon, which requires special conditions of confinement compared to, for example, catfish. Production workers monitor the living conditions of the fish, including water parameters, and observe the growth and activity of these fish. this paper analyzes the different existing methods of weighing fish in production facilities. Nowadays, there is a trend toward digitization of production and implementation of cyber-physical systems to improve the efficiency of production. Visual inspection, complemented by neural network analysis, is emerging as a valuable approach for addressing the challenge of fish weight estimation. the study suggests a viable technique for automatically measuring sturgeon sizes at various developmental phases using YoLo9 and highlights potential areas for future research. © the Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2024.

Coding instruction has increased widely throughout primary and secondary education in many countries, and educators are just beginning to understand the complexities of teaching students to code. A question raised is whether everyone should learn to code to be fully literate participants in our future society? What are the teachers’ main arguments concerning the concept of programming for all? We investigate these questions from a teacher’s perspective and aim to determine what attitudes teachers have towards programming for all. We gave teachers a task to describe their thoughts and perceptions on programming for all and collected data during a programming course for in-service teachers. this paper reports on preliminary findings. Although the vast majority in this study have positive attitudes towards programming, we can also see negative attitudes. these concerns are mainly related to lack of time. In-service teachers in this study believe that programming can be fun and engaging. they come with many arguments on reasons why they should include programming in school. © 2022, the Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.
