In today's technological world, the role of information and communication technology in education and training is quite important. this could lead to enhancing engineering education and training with smart development of appropriate tools and frameworks, PLCs are among the most widely used control tools in various industries. therefore developing remote and virtual PLC laboratories for education and training could be very helpful. It should also be noted that real PLC laboratories are quite expensive and not simply available in many universities. this paper introduces a framework and some related techniques to develop remote and virtual laboratories for PLC's via common smartphones and a number of advanced programming software. the proposed approach is implemented and verified on some experimental set up. the results show the effectiveness of the proposition and opens ways for further developments.

the way we learn has changed dramatically in the new millennium. the introduction of e-learning in higher education in the late 1990s has opened Pandora's Box, and brought radical changes in the way undergraduate and postgraduate programs are designed and delivered. the rapid developments and popularity of handheld devices such as smart phones and tablet PCs using wireless networks and mobile internet have marked new developments in higher education, introducing the so-called mobile learning (m-learning). this means that university students can have access to their studies related content, anytime, anywhere in a personalised manner;this is what renders m-learning so popular and fashionable among university students globally. Nevertheless, instructors are now challenged as they have to adopt new pedagogies in learning and teaching. this paper discusses the concept of m-learning, as well as the current developments and challenges related to the major stakeholders (educators and students) in higher education.

Region is a complicated system, where human, nature and society interact and influence. Quantitative modeling and simulation of ecology in the region are the key to realize the strategy of regional sustainable development. Traditional machine learning methods have made some achievements in the modeling of regional ecosystems, but it is difficult to determine the learning characteristics and to realize spatio-temporal simulation. Deep learning does not need prior identification of training characteristics, have excellent feature learning ability, can improve the accuracy of model prediction, so the use of deep learning model has a significant advantage. therefore, we use net primary productivity (NPP), atmospheric optical depth (AOD), moderate-resolution imaging spectrometer (MODIS), Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI), landcover and population data, and use LSTM to do spatio-temporal simulation. We conduct spatial analysis and driving force analysis. the conclusions are as follows: the ecological deficit of northwestern Henan and urban communities such as Zhengzhou is higher. the reason of former lies in the weak land productivity of the Loess Plateau, the irrational crop cultivation mode. the latter lies in the high consumption of resources in the large urban agglomeration;the positive trend of Henan ecological development from 2013 is mainly due to the effective environmental protection policy in the 12th five-year plan;the main driver of the sustained ecological deficit growth of Henan in 2004-2013 is high-speed urbanization, increasing population and goods consumption. this article provides relevant basic scientific support and reference for the regional ecological scientific management and construction. © Authors 2017.

In this project we use the technologies of virtual reality, conversional interfaces, animated touch screens, metrostyle navigation to allow users to immerse inside Qur'an and some of its related sciences. the goal is to build a small scale implementation of only Part 30 of a Conversional, Animated Qur'an Memorizer application. the implementation is ported on major smart phones and here w describe the system model and design decisions. Major features of the application are demonstrated and explained. the animated conversional interface is described with its options to change view and customize its drop down menus locations and contents. the flexible indexing of both Qur'an, its narrators, types of recitation, links to Tafseers and glossaries along with the metro-style touch screen navigation and bookmarking are demonstrated. the search capability of both text and audio has been demonstrated. Tracking of what one has memorized from each Surah so far with ability to change text display through the Qur'an viewer (e.g. display movement characters are demonstrated. the bi-lingual display of Qur'an Tafseers and glossaries are also demonstrated. Changing setting and getting help are also demonstrated. Audi recording is implemented but audio voice recognition, correction and teach exams have not been implemented completely yet in the current small scale implementation. In fact the usability of the conversional, animated, immersive interface screens allows easy interaction with the application. Also on-line help is extensive and allow easy navigation among various interface screens.

the increased availability of cheaper sensing technologies, the implementation of fibre-optic networks, the availability of cheaper data storage repositories, and development of powerful machine learning models are fundamental components that provide a new facet to the concept of the smart Power Grid. An important element in the smart Grid concept is predicting potential fault events in the smart Power Grid, or better known as fault prognostics. this paper discusses an approach that uses machine learning methods to discover fault event-related knowledge from historical data and helps in the prognostics of fault events in power grids and critical and expensive components such as power transformers circuit breakers, and others. the objective of the current research is to develop a mobile learning model for smart phones which will be used by educational institutions for learning and training purposes but also for on-the-go communication for students and academics and information sharing. It would determine the important elements of mobile applications as a medium to facilitate m-learning both in assembling responses from students and for reporting feedback to individual students. the mobile application would also integrate capabilities so the students would be able to access presentations by professionals through the 3G application in their mobile devices. they could also interact by posting their comments and sharing photos, images, voice and video though this application. the lecturer could facilitate and moderate debates while students could respond and learn without being in front of a computer. the application would also be used as a digital marketing channel for promoting Educational Programmes to potential candidates.

this paper describes the development of a knowledge-based authoring tool, which aims to be useful to teachers and students in multiple language learning. the tool provides assistance on the editing of exercises and also on the creating, updating or erasing a student's profile by the teacher. the system monitors the students while they are answering the exercises and provides appropriate feedback. One of the system's basic functions in to create a student model, which promotes the educational process. the tool incorporates an error diagnosis component, which handles the students' errors in the three languages. Multilingual support in Computer Assisted Language learning (CALL) is a significant innovation in the related scientific literature.
