this abstract presents the concept of presentation engineering, a critical facet of software engineering focused on the user experience of web applications. As web and native app distinctions blur, presentation engineering's significance in software architecture grows. Modern web applications, including e-commerce and social networking, demand advanced presentation platforms to manage content-heavy and interaction-rich services. this paper introduces presentation platform engineering, highlighting its necessity and exploring best practices for building and operating scalable systems. It details engineering workflows that address the complexities of contemporary web development, enabling the delivery of engaging content and interactions effectively at scale. Insights into the trade-offs involved in these workflows are also discussed. the findings are drawn from empirical research, including developer experience surveys and release velocity assessments, within large-scale organizations like eBay Inc. this study aims to enhance understanding and improve practices within the evolving domain of presentation engineering.

the integration of emerging AI technologies, particularly Large Language Models (LLMs), is fundamentally reshaping the landscape of software engineering. LLMs offer a wide array of capabilities that can enhance various aspects of software development, including design assistance, automated code analysis and synthesis, and testing. Consequently, their integration into software engineering practices holds the potential to greatly improve efficiency and code quality, marking a notable paradigm shift towards the creation of more intelligent and adaptive systems. this allows the definition of an extended perspective when establishing requirements for building software engineering solutions by incorporating evidence from literature resources and practice. By synthesizing requirements and evidence from scholarly and practitioner sources using LLMs, software engineers can ensure that their solutions are not only technically sound but also align with best practices in fostering social norms and values like inclusivity. Adopting such an approach supports the creation of responsible and inclusive educational software that caters to diverse learning needs and promotes equitable access to educational resources. Moreover, by using LLMs to inform decision-making throughout the software development lifecycle, software engineers can iteratively refine and enhance their solutions based on emerging research findings, thereby ensuring continuous improvement in fostering inclusive educational environments. Hence, this research aims to develop a novel evidence-based software engineering method informed by insights from scientific literature. As a use case, we design and implement a dyslexia-oriented educational software application that supports children in learning to read, guided by this new methodological approach. © Proceedings of the 4th international conference on AI Research, ICAIR 2024.

In response to the construction of intelligent operation and maintenance in urban rail transit, aiming at the actual needs of the inspection and measurement software system for the working component components of various models of switch machines, a dual-end integrated software system development was carried out based on technologies such as big data, cloud platforms, and machine vision. the platform system architecture design was first introduced, followed by an analysis of the management background model of the software system, the functional requirements of the mobile terminal, and the system module settings. Models such as a low-complexity precise measurement algorithm and data transmission based on cloud servers were constructed. Finally, the main testing environment of the system and real-time performance testing were listed. the tests show that the software system can complete millimeter-precision measurement of a single image within 2.4 seconds with an accuracy rate of over 99%. the practical experience in the design and application process of this software system can provide a reference for the exploration and promotion of the intelligent operation and maintenance model in urban rail transit.

this paper presents a software engineering architecture, which permits the analysis and collection of semantic information from textual images using a mobile phone. the development of processes for information extraction and information enhancement is becoming widely investigated by the community, due to new services requiring AI-based functionalities. Moreover, there is a growing need for solutions that aid individuals with specific needs, such as visually impaired people, refugees, and visitors in understanding their surrounding environment. In particular, we present an architecture that can respond to these needs by automatically providing an intelligent description of surrounding texts. this can be effectively accomplished by integrating various services and technologies into a single entity, which can be utilized by personal smartphones.

In order to solve the problem that the current terminal section of the wire harness is difficult to complete the quality inspection by human eye, a set of terminal image measurement and analysis software system is developed based on software design and development and image measurement and analysis technology. First of all, according to the manual inspection process, the software demand analysis and functional process design are carried out to form a standardized industrial software architecture and framework module. then, combined with the camera software control development and image acquisition analysis, the image measurement task set is realized, and the measurement purpose of each dimension of the terminal image target is achieved. Finally, the image measurement module is integrated into the software system, and integrated into user login management, dongle management, database management and report management to achieve an industrial software system that meets the commercial landing standards. the experimental test results show that the system is conducive to reducing the burden of manual visual inspection, and improves the accuracy and efficiency of wire harness terminal quality inspection. © 2024 IEEE.
