In the dynamic landscape of Quantum software engineering (QSE), ensuring the integrity of sensitive data is critical, which stipulates integrating security and privacy measures during the Quantum software development Life Cycle (QDLC) rather than providing cost-inefficient post-production software fixes. this paper proposes a Quantum Privacy Knowledge Base (QPKB) and Quantum Privacy-Oriented software development (QPOSD) approach that integrates privacy and security protocols into quantum hybrid software development, complementing existing software development processes. QPKB is formalized as the interrelationship between five key elements: Quantum Privacy by Design principles, Quantum Privacy Design Strategies, Quantum Privacy Patterns, Quantum Bugs and Vulnerabilities, and Quantum Hybrid Context. the step-by-step methodology for QPOSD spans analysis, design, coding, verification and validation, and deployment phases. With the help of a scenario, we demonstrate how QPOSD can effectively integrate security and privacy imperatives in QDLC. this study acts as a starting point for serving operational guidelines for quantum development teams, providing strategies for integrating privacy and security measures into QSE practices.

Nowadays, changes in the environment and the way things are designed are making the software development process more and more complicated. Risk is one of the key factors that influences the cost, dependability, reliability, and performance of software development. Risks are described as the unpredictability associated with upcoming events in the future. the study showed that the most challenging risks are in requirements, programme, technology, management, scheduling, quality, and budget. Without handling software risks properly, they become the riskiest, which can cause some good software to fail. Risk identification, risk management, and risk analysis should be done sensibly. For a very long time, in the development process of software, many researchers have focused on a variety of approaches and methods for reducing the vulnerability of risk analysis and management. In this research, a systematic literature review has been done to analyze the adverse impact of various risk identification and risk management tools and techniques, as well as risk analysis for software development. As a benchmark, we have reviewed various models in the context of risk management tools and techniques developed by the software engineering Institute (SEI). We've tried to determine the best or most appropriate tools and techniques for risk management in software development, based on the severity and various features of these models, and we have tried to show their shortcomings as well as their asset qualities. this paper gives a detailed comparison of different tools and methods for managing software-related risks, looking at some of the things they have in common. © the Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2024.

this study addresses the issue of double frequency fluctuations caused by cascade converters in high-voltage DC transmission systems by designing a system that uses a 4.3kV, 50Hz three-phase AC input and ultimately outputs 220V, 50Hz AC through multiple conversions. the working principles of each functional module and control system are then described in detail, and a simulation model is established using MATLAB/Simulink software to verify the feasibility of the system. through simulation analysis, the system is shown to have a low total harmonic distortion rate, providing a safe, high-quality, and stable power supply, thus verifying the effectiveness and superiority of the designed system. © 2024 IEEE.

this article mainly studies the current situation and development trends of CCUS, which is based on journal articles indexed by Web of Science from 2013 to 2023 as the database. Firstly, the author applies the knowledge graph software Cite space for visual analysis, which classifies the time and spatial distributions. It obtains a knowledge graph of the article country, publishing institution, publishing journal, publishing author, and high-frequency hot topics based on CCUS as the research topic. Secondly, the author analyzes the challenges faced by CCUS technology based on a knowledge graph. Finally, the author draws analysis results and summarizes the challenges of its current development status, as well as predicts development trends. © 2024 IEEE.

Harmonizing both safety and ease of use in healthcare software is a top priority in current security research. the balance between security and usability is still elusive, despite the constant efforts of developers and security experts. More thorough research into practical approaches to assess and improve the usable security of medical technology is urgently needed. the main goal of this research is to evaluate healthcare software's usable security and, using empirical analysis as a basis, provide approaches for optimum security that don't sacrifice usability. Decision-makers in the development of software have a difficulty when it comes to effortlessly integrating exceptionally safe software with optimal usability. In order to evaluate usability and security, this study proposes merging the Analytic Network Process (ANP), Fuzzy Set (FS), and Technique for Priority of Priority by Similarity to the Ideal Response (TOPSIS). this innovative technique promotes the integration of user and safety qualities. the FSAHP-TOPSIS hybrid solution's effectiveness in assessing usable-security is shown by the study's application to a hospital management system in Mecca, Saudi Arabia. these results provide insightful advice for security management that doesn't sacrifice end-user usability. © 2024 IEEE.

the purpose of this work is to develop software for creation of a fuel and energy balances (FEB) of cities in a graphical representation convenient for analysis with the possibility of optimizing various sectors of fuel and energy resources (FER) consumption through the use of various energy-saving technologies. Creation of FEB of cities and regions is a primary task for strategic planning of the development of the fuel and energy complex. the paper presents the results of the creation the mathematical model and optimization of FEB on the example of Moscow using the developed software. the main directions of energy efficiency improvement based on the results obtained are highlighted. © 2022 IEEE.

software effort estimation (SEE) in Agile software development (ASD) has been a longstanding challenge for software engineers. the traditional approach estimates effort scores known as Story Point (SP) to measure user stories. the approach was an expert judgment method in which experts propose certain values of story points based on their experience through various mechanisms such as planning poker, Dot Voting, Bucket System, etc. the process will become challenging if experts have different opinions about the value of certain story points, which may result in a longer duration for completion. Many algorithms have been proposed to optimize the method. the utilization of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) has greatly simplified processes. Various algorithms are utilized, including Fuzzy, SVM, Naive Bayes, KNN, ANN, RNN, CNN, and LSTM, and utilizing Large Language Models (LLMs) for advancement. this paper employs the hybrid model of Bidirectional Encoder Representations from Transformers (BERT) - Multilayer Perceptron (MLP), which we call alterBERT, to perform regression for estimating Story Points (SP). We will assess the model over the TAWOS dataset and compare it with the previous model, GPT2SP, and other GPT2 architecture. the dataset consists of issues from 39 open-source projects mined from JIRA software. According to the experimental result, we conclude that the alterBERT models have better performance, outperforming the other models with an average MAE and RMSE, respectively, about 1.72 and 2.51. © 2024 IEEE.

this paper presents a comprehensive assessment method of the security of open source components. the process is constructed using three analytical techniques: hierarchical analysis, expert scoring, and linear weighting. these techniques are employed to identify the parameters that affect the security of open source software. the parameters are then used to evaluate the security of open source components. the evaluation results can inform decisions on the introduction of open source components. © 2025 SPIE.

With the development of cloud computing, serverless-based applications are becoming increasingly prevalent. In the serverless paradigm, cloud service providers handle all server-related management, allowing developers to focus solely on business logic and code. However, the lack of server management access for developers results in poor observability of serverless-based applications, making it challenging to perform end-to-end code analysis and vulnerability discovery in serverless scenarios. this, in turn, introduces security challenges to software production. To address the challenge of poor observability of serverless-based applications, this paper proposes a fully-extended call graph construction scheme to enhance the observability of serverless-based applications. the scheme consists of three modules: an application configuration file input module, a service dependency graph composition module, and a state machine workflow graph embedding module. the proposed scheme introduces new node types to increase the information content, ultimately producing a fully-extended call graph that can be used for application flow analysis, demonstrating deeper interconnectivity in serverless mode. Finally, this paper validates the effectiveness of the proposed scheme through experiments. the experimental results confirm that the proposed scheme reduces the operational complexity compared to the static call graph construction scheme. Additionally, the proposed scheme does not rely on intrusive monitoring techniques such as code instrumentation or agent-based embedding, thus avoiding the high compile-time and runtime overhead associated with intrusive monitoring.

To protect public health and the environment, it is important to have effective wastewater treatment methods. Traditional methods of wastewater treatment plants require manual operation or SCADA systems are typically installed on site to control aeration during wastewater treatment. these traditional practices lack scalability and capabilities for remote monitoring and real-time optimization. this article discusses how modern cloud-based SCADA/PLC systems through Node Red software and totally integrate portal software (TIA) can transform wastewater aeration operations. Cloud-SCADA/PLC systems use the power of cloud computing to provide industrial automation with a powerful and flexible platform. Real-time data is collected from sensors placed at points such as treatment processes, dissolved oxygen (DO) levels and other aeration processes using programmable logic controllers (PLCs) located in the plant itself. this information is sent securely to a cloud-based SCADA system that allows for central monitoring control as well as data analysis via the control centers that have been designed. © 2024 IEEE.
