Underwater optical wireless networks encounter significant obstacles due to environmental factors like optical wave absorption and scattering that impact data transmission. To address these challenges, this paper presents an improved routing algorithm that incorporates Ant Colony Optimization (ACO) into a distance-adaptive dual-hop routing framework. By emulating ants' natural foraging behavior, the proposed method enhances relay node selection, boosting both the efficiency and reliability of data transmission in underwater networks. the ACO-driven approach dynamically adapts routing decisions using pheromone trails and heuristic information, resulting in higher packet delivery rates and enhanced energy efficiency. Simulation results reveal that this optimized routing algorithm surpasses conventional methods, providing a resilient solution to the complexities of underwater optical communication. © 2025 IEEE.

the authority transitions are important when human interact with automated driving. the monitoring systems should be able to smartly adapt to the detected driver state, adjusting the time given for take-over requests (TOR). the proposed system in the study obtains drivers' ideal driving authority takeover times by analyzing wearable sensor and other sensor data. the driver's authority during the transition is evaluated in this study using the sensors including the chassis velocity sensor, galvanic skin response (GSR) sensor, and current (torque) sensor subjected to longitudinal quality metrics. three different traffic situations are analyzed to compare four different takeover times (0s, 2s, 4s, and 6s) and the ideal TOR times of drivers are detected for the authority transition. Here, TOR 6s is close to a critical/dangerous situation and TOR 0s time is a sudden transition. According to the results, ideal TOR times are mostly TOR 2s and TOR 4s. TOR 6s is not considered as an ideal TOR time for any driver in the study. © 2025 the Authors. Published by Elsevier B.V.

this research investigates the perceptions of cybersecurity among older adults in Malaysia, aged 60 years and above, who are reliant on technology for basic activities. the data from 331 participants showed that 30.8% were online for 4-8 hours daily, while 3.3% were completely disconnected. Interestingly, more than half of the respondents were unaware of cybersecurity threats, especially malware and ransomware, which put their data in jeopardy. While there is some awareness related to unauthorized access and computer fraud, knowledge gaps remain significant, and effective educational interventions are thus needed. Informal, self-directed learning appears to be a widespread way of acquiring skills in this age group, often supplemented by community workshops and peer networks. Given that almost half of the older adults spend considerable time online, improving their digital skills in tandem with their support systems is an important goal for enhancing their online experiences. It indicates the need for a twin approach: enhancing cybersecurity awareness with specialized educational programs, alongside developing flexible opportunities for informal learning. Educational institutions and relevant policies are encouraged to prioritize building hands-on, specific cybersecurity education for seniors. Also, user interface design considering cybersecurity-related issues can make using the technological environment as user-friendly and secure as possible. these strategies will contribute to creating an inclusive digital society, where older adults are confident and safe in using digital technologies while continuously contributing to their personal and professional development. © 2025 IEEE.

In the era of artificial intelligence and real-time applications, the demand for swift data processing on large volumes has become paramount. this article delves into the critical role of programming languages and frameworks in meeting these requirements. With a focus on web development, the study conducts a comparative analysis of eight classic sorting algorithms—Bubble Sort, Insertion Sort, Selection Sort, Merge Sort, Quick Sort, Heap Sort, Introspective Sort, and Shell Sort—evaluated in two prominent programming languages, PHP and C#. the research emphasizes the importance of selecting programming tools based on performance criteria in the context of modern applications. Next, a new formula for assessing the complexity of sorted words was introduced, aiming to scrutinize its impact on sorting time. Furthermore, a comparative analysis was conducted, evaluating the implementation of sorting in C# using arrays versus lists. the article sought to delineate the intricacies associated with each approach, considering computational efficiency and resource utilization. the discourse delved into the nuanced aspects of word complexity measurement and its consequential effects on the performance of sorting algorithms in the context of C# programming, contributing valuable insights to the ongoing discourse on algorithmic optimization and language-specific implementation choices. © the Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2025.

this paper introduces a knowledge graph curation framework for the generation of linked open data in the domain of cyber law and ethics called the CKGLD. this framework utilizes both static metadata and dynamically acquired knowledge from Web 3.0. With advanced methods of term and category extraction, classification using both lightweight machine learning and strong deep learning methods, and clustering, the framework can exceed all similar frameworks in terms of performance. Initial terms are processed from the documents using the TF-IDF strategy. Static metadata stack is established from e-books, query logs, and glossaries. Renyi entropy is used to guide informative term selection for a decision tree classification;in this manner, the scale of the generated knowledge is managed by lightweight computing requirements. Dynamic knowledge from Web 3.0 is classified using GANs and is subjected to DBSCAN clustering. A multi-agent setup with parallelization enhances the efficiency of the clustering process. the knowledge graph is finally created using the Co-SIM rank and is evaluated for specificity using Hellinger's distance and volume of intersection index. these paradigms contribute to this framework significantly outperforming the baseline frameworks. © the Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2025.

Simulation software addresses complex problems that are difficult to solve analytically. Due to probabilistic elements, simulations often require multiple runs, generating critical decision-making data. However, many users are unfamiliar with the necessary persistence technologies to store and access this data, hindering effective utilisation. We propose a transparent data persistence architecture integrated into the ConcurrentSim package for the Julia programming language. By leveraging Julia’s metaprogramming capabilities, we dynamically generate an object-relational mapping (ORM) model, automating data storage without requiring user expertise in persistence technologies. We provide two solutions for accessing the data, including a web-based interface for immediate access and a REST API for broader integration with external frameworks. the REST API allows for seamless incorporation of simulation data into diverse workflows, offering flexibility and ease of use. Our contribution improves the usability of the ConcurrentSim ecosystem and demonstrates the power of macro expansion in Julia for creating dynamic ORM configurations. thereby, we simplify data persistence and enhance user productivity by removing most of the technical overhead, enabling users to focus on analysis. © ICST Institute for Computer Sciences, Social Informatics and Telecommunications Engineering 2025.

the application of Internet of things (IoT) detection devices in the field of elderly healthy generates a large amount of detection data, which faces problems such as diversified data sources and non-uniform parsing methods. the fragmentation and confusion of the process from data subscription to data analysis have become important challenges affecting the development of the healthy aging field. In this paper, we designed and proposed an elderly health care framework with a model-as-a-service orientation. the framework automates the integration of health data for the elderly, including subscription services. It handles Model Training Analysis through a workflow-based system. Users can configure workflows using a low-code method provided by the platform. First, we abstracted and formalized the integration problem and workflow and defined a workflow description language. then, we built an healthy aging unified modeling framework based on the problem model and provided a general introduction to the framework architecture. the module for analyzing is responsible for model training, persistence, and data analysis, enabling users to customize the selection of machine learning models and corresponding parametric. Ultimately, we built a model library and an external RESTful interface based on the automation option of Automated machine learning (AutoML). the experiments demonstrate this paper's proposed framework's feasibility and effectiveness.

In recent years, there has been an increasing interest in developing in vitro models that predict the behavior of cells in living organisms. Mathematical models based on differential equations, and related numerical algorithms, have been provided to this aim. In this work, we present first experiences in designing parallel strategies for accelerating an algorithm for behavior prediction based on the Cellular Potts Model (CPM). In particular, we exploit the computational power of Graphic Process Units in CUDA environment to address main low-level kernels involved. Photovoltaic-thermal (PV-T) systems are used to optimize the performance of PV modules in addition to the utilization of the heating fluids for various usages. In the present work, a PV-T system is designed with a serpentine-shaped tube to cool the PV module with water. 3D steady-state analysis was developed, and numerical simulation was performed using ANSYS-Fluent 2020-R2 software. the impact of passing water with different velocities under the PV module is studied. Moreover, the collected results showed that 0.5–0.4 m/s are the optimal values that achieve performance improvement. Finally, the effect of the length of the collector on the electrical efficiency as a design parameter was investigated in this paper.
