this paper focuses on analyzing the resilience of rail transit system based on improved linear programming models. An improved commuter flow model is developed to estimate system status. Considering the complexity of system, the model is first applied for smaller batch of Origin-Destination (OD) pairs separately under normal conditions withthe assumption that the railway capacity is sufficient relative to demand. To estimate system status under disruptions efficiently, only affected passengers are considered in the model, as well as the spare space of trains. Based on outputs of our proposed models, several critical measures are introduced to quantify the resilience, resistance, and recovery ability of rail network systematically. the proposed approach is demonstrated on the core part of Hangzhou rail transit network.
