the Rapid Alloy Method for Producing Accurate, General Empirical potential generation toolkit (RAMPAGE) is a program for fitting multicomponent interatomic potential functions for metal alloys. In this paper, we describe a collaborative effort between domain scientists and performance engineers to improve the parallelism, scalability, and maintainability of the code. We modified RAMPAGE to use the Message Passing Interface (MPI) for communication and synchronization, to use more than one MPI process when evaluating candidate potential functions, and to have its MPI processes execute functionality that was previously executed by external non-MPI processes. We ported RAMPAGE to run on the Eos and Titan Cray systems of the United States Department of Energy (DOE)'s Oak Ridge Leadership Computing Facility (OLCF), and the Cori and Edison systems at the DOE's National Energy Research Scientific Computing Center (NERSC). Our modifications resulted in a 7 speedup on 8 Eos system nodes, and scalability up to 2048 processes on the Cori system with Intel Knights Landing processors. © 2017 Copyright held by the owner/author(s).

Unlike common imperative program language(such as java, C or ADA), compiler maintains model-based code generator, and generated component has no established method in spite of progress achieved in the field of formal verification. Several test methods are dominant in engineering practice. the paper describes a common testing system with independent tools for using code generator developed based on model. We evaluate validity of our method through testing optimization of Target Link code generating program. Target Link code generator is a widely accepted and complex development tool based on model automation development.

Many organisations need periodic retraining of staff. Due to certain requirements on the composition of study groups, the planning of training sessions is an NP-hard problem. the paper presents linear and nonlinear mathematical programming formulations of this problem together with three column generation based heuristic optimisation procedures. the procedures are compared by means of computational experiments that use data originating from a large Australian electricity distributor with several thousand employees.

In this paper, we study an integrated production scheduling and delivery routing problem. the manufacturer has to schedule a set of jobs on a single machine without preemption and to deliver them to multiple customers. A single vehicle with limited capacity is used for the delivery. For each job are associated: a processing time, a size and a specific customer location. the problem consists then to determine the production sequence, to constitute batches and to find the best delivery sequence for each batch. the objectives of the proposed problems are to find a coordinated production and a delivery schedule that minimizes the total completion time (makespan) or the sum of the delivery times of the products. We present complexity results for particular cases and a column generation scheme to solve a relaxed version of the problem, leading to a lower bound of high quality. Some computational results show the good performances of the method.

the aim of this paper is to present the development of the software for controlling one of the scientific payloads of the 14-BISat nanosatellite, the Flux-F-Probe Experiment (Fipex). this satellite was developed by the Instituto Federal Fluminense (IFF) as part of the multinational QB50 mission for the Low Termosphere characterization. In order to provide the necessary support for developing this software, a software toolset was developed in order to to form an agile, integrated development environment for the C/C++ languages for microcontrollers. DC Microgrid attains popularity in integrating renewable energy sources and batteries. It also has the potential to achieve higher efficiency than ac power grid with optimized power flow. In this paper, a general dc microgrid is modeled based on a cluster of general dc nodes, which includes constant power renewables generation, droop-controlled voltage source and different kinds of load. then the dc power flow is solved for optimization. A voltage restoration method based on consensus algorithm is used to restore the voltage deviation from droop characteristic. An enhanced current regulator is adopted to guarantee the accurate load sharing even under the influence of sensor drift and line resistance. A tie line power flow control method is proposed to regulate the tie line power directly and increase the system efficiency at light load condition. All the considered methods only need the local information and the information from its nearest neighbor thus the system expendability is guaranteed. Simulation and experiment results are provided to validate the proposed methods.

In this paper, we discuss the performance of the multi-chip white light LED packages with the proposed silicon dioxides (SiO2) structures. We find that the SiO2 structure and the size of SiO2 particle can bring the significant effect on the LED performance, such as the color uniformity and the luminous flux. through the research results, it is suggested that the hybrid SiO2 structure with its size around 1μm can be suitable for obtaining higher color uniformity. © 2015 IEEE.

Indirect branches have historically been a challenge for microarchitectures and code generators alike the recent steady increase in indirect branch predictability has translated into continual performance improvements especially for Out-of-Order processors which benefit wore readily from improvements in branch prediction. In contrast;in-order processors which rely on code generators for performance are still challenged by indirect branches;they are a frequent source of issue stalls and the large number of indirect branch targets and unbiased nature of indirect branches complicate the use of traditional branch handling techniques like assert conversion and predication. To address these limitations;we propose an ISA enhancement with associated code transformation and hardware support that collectively enable the current trend of improved indirect branch predictability to be directly leveraged by code-generators for in-orders. By separating the prediction point of an indirect branch from its resolution point;we enable code generators to emit schedules which more readily match those found by the Out-of-Order. Our technique is particularly beneficial to those processors which leverage dynamic binary translation and optimization such as Transmeta's Efficeon and more recently Nvidia's Project Denver. On a set of indirect branch intensive benchmarks from SPEC 2006, 2000 and 95, We achieve a Geomean speedup on a 4-wide of 11%. We further demonstrate speedups of 23% and 14% speedup on PHP and Python benchmarks.

the Search engine, as one of the most popular approaches of information finding tools, has been developed for finding information from internet user. In the web search, the information is in unstructured and structured format. Structured format is in the form of semantic and schema heterogeneity. Several shortcomings are associated with existing Web database in relation to the schema. In the commercial world, the various schemas matching techniques are developed. though they are helpful in searching information up to some extent, but still they are semi-automatic and require various steps to achieve its objective. the purpose of schema matching is to automatically recognize similar elements of the assorted schemas and generate mapping expression to formulate on a single schema. We can handle the problem by two things such as: a. We construct either name of schema element and structure of the schema or formal ontology and mapping process. b. Searching mechanisms are used to narrow down our search and display the list of matched documents. Formal ontology and Mapping Process are needed for schema matching. In this context an Instance Based search system is proposed for finding more accurate data. In order to implement the transformation code, different kind of language (HTML, XML, RDF) is already used. this paper addresses the heterogeneity problems between the schemas. the problem is tackled by developing mapping language, which is able to handle with schema heterogeneity problems. these mapping strategies constraints are expressed by the language such as the source to target and target dependencies. It displays the list of matched documents through which user can get an accurate and effective information from the raised query.

Browser is the entry point to cloud computing services, and the performance of JavaScript, with which the web applications are built, has become critically important in the user experience. the key to achieving JavaScript execution efficiency is Just-in-time (JIT) compilation. At present, Firefox is one of the most popular cross platform browsers. However, there is no MIPS code generator in IonMonkey, Firefox's next-generation optimizing JavaScript JIT compiler, leaving the un-performed interpreter the only option to execute JavaScript on MIPS platform in Firefox. In this paper, we managed to implement an efficient and reliable MIPS code generator for IonMonkey. We took an insight into the inner mechanism of IonMonkey, and solved a series of platform-related problems such as double-layer cross platform architecture, patch, jump source chain, and ABI. Additionally, we optimized IonMonkey based on MIPS architecture by using a series of methods such as short-distance jump optimization, range analysis for arithmetic operation, peephole optimization, etc. With the JIT porting and these optimizations, V8 benchmark scores ascended from 38.8 to 957, and the running time of Sunspider benchmark descended from 20428.7 ms to 2689.5 ms. the efficiency of JS engine was significantly improved on MIPS.
