the resource-constrained task scheduling problem has been one of the popular research topics in cloud computing systems. By employing the dynamic voltage and frequency scaling (DVFS) techniques, the task scheduling can be further constrained by energy consumption. the paper investigates the DAG task scheduling considering both the resource and energy constraints in heterogeneous distributed systems. the objective is to minimize the scheduling length. An energy-constrained task scheduling framework is employed, where tasks are initially scheduled according to their upward rank values. then two heuristics are proposed to improve the initial solution, namely, the simulated annealing local search method and the frequency adjustment method. Experiments are conducted by testing a large number of instances with multiple parameter settings, and the results show that the proposed algorithms are effective and efficient. © 2023 ieee.

Currently, relational and object-relational databases have become the de facto standard for organizing data storage in most information systems. But such structures are not suitable for volumes of information that cannot be processed by the capacity of a single server. To process such big data, databases with a key-value structure are used. the article discusses the main problems that arise when creating distributed big data repositories and modern technologies that allow these problems to be leveled. there is no single universal solution related to the storage and processing of big data. When choosing technologies and implementing storage, it is important to consider together the tasks that require solutions, technical capabilities, types and regularity of necessary treatments, data features, for example, the frequency of their updates. © 2023 ieee.

A predictive schedule based energy efficient MAC protocol named as PSE2-MAC is proposed in this paper for asynchronous wireless sensor networks. Although the asynchronous MAC protocol offers better performance than that of synchronous MAC in terms of energy but infrequently it suffers from beacon collisions as well as idle listening problem. Although many researchers avoid discussion on beacon collision but it has a great impact on asynchronous MAC. For this reason, the authors in this paper have highlighted the beacon collision problem and proposed a possible solution with prominent results. Along with the solution, the authors have proposed a prominent technique to solve energy consumption issue caused by idle listening. the performance of the proposed protocol has been evaluated and the evaluation result shows that PSE2-MAC performs much better than conventional ieee 802.15.4 protocol for managing the beacon collision. Also, the simulation results show minimal energy consumption due to idle listening. thus, the proposed protocol helps to improve overall network performance and throughput.

the exponential growth of distributed cloud systems necessitates an intelligent form of workload management that ensures optimum performance, scalability, and reliability. Traditional approaches based on static or heuristic resource allocation and fault-tolerance mechanisms cannot capture the dynamic nature of modern workloads and heterogeneous infrastructures. Drawing from this source of inspiration, this work develops a holistic framework integrating machine learning models that facilitate self-optimizing distributed cloud computing for dynamic workload management. three components are significant in the proposed framework: (1) DNRA;this uses a hybrid GNN and RL architecture for real-time resource allocation, offering up to 25% improvement in resource utilization and a 30% reduction in task latency. (2) Workload-Aware Transfer Learning Scheduler (WATLS), leveraging transfer learning to predict workload dynamics across heterogeneous nodes, achieving 20% higher task throughput and 15% energy savings through proactive scheduling. (3) Multi-Agent Predictive Fault-Tolerant System (MAP-FTS), combining multi-agent systems with predictive fault detection to preemptively redistribute tasks and schedule maintenance, reducing system downtime by 50% and enhancing fault detection accuracy to 90%. the framework integrates novel methodologies towards answering the main challenges of resource allocation, workload prediction, and fault tolerance. the amount of progress achieved through cumulative contributions includes improvement in system reliability and scalability up to 5x their nodes and respective scalable energy efficiency without any degradation of performance. this work paves the pathway for an adaptive and intelligent next generation of distributed cloud systems. © 2024 ieee.

Crowd sensing is a way to obtain multiple sensing data onto users or mobile devices and is widely used in industrial Internet, smart city, smart medical, etc. However, when users upload sensing data involving sensitive information such as a user identity and location, there will be risks of data privacy leakage and user tracking. For the problem of this scenario, we propose a blockchain-based pseudonym generation mechanism, which uses pseudonyms to realize user anonymity and user identity authentication. the average speed of pseudonym generation and authentication in the simulation experiment is about 0.1s, the experimental results verify the availability and effectiveness of the distributed pseudonym mechanism. © 2021 ieee.

A WSN is a network of wireless sensors that are becoming increasingly vulnerable to cyberattacks due to their widespread deployment and resource constraints. Traditional intrusion detection systems (IDS) often struggle to keep up with the evolving nature of threats, necessitating the adoption of more sophisticated techniques. We do this by using a combination of three powerful tools: Cross correlation, which can understand words from both directions, and two types of neural networks called DNNs and LSTMs. Basically, Cross-correlation measures the similarity between two time series, which can be used to identify patterns in sensor data that deviate from normal behaviour. It used for a variety of purposes, including feature extraction, recognition, filtering, and synchronization, it can help to protect WSNs from a variety of threats, including Denial-of-Service (DoS) attacks, data manipulation attacks, and malicious control attacks. LSTM-DNN models excel at extracting temporal patterns from sensor data, making them well-suited for intrusion detection tasks. Cross-correlation, a statistical measure of similarity between two time series, can further enhance anomaly detection by identifying deviations from normal behaviour patterns. Our tests on real intrusion detection data show that this hybrid model works well. extract complex patterns, capture temporal dependencies, and identify anomalies makes it well-suited for detecting a wide range of intrusions in real-time. Mixing Cross-correlation language skills with DNN and LSTM's monitoring network traffic and system activities for suspicious behaviour that could indicate an intrusion. © 2024 ieee.

With the advancement of modern robotics, autonomous agents are now capable of hosting sophisticated algorithms, which enables them to make intelligent decisions. But developing and testing such algorithms directly in real -world systems is tedious and may result in the wastage of valuable resources. Especially for heterogeneous multi -agent systems in battlefield environments where communication is critical in determining the system's behavior and usability. Due to the necessity of simulators of separate paradigms (co -simulation) to simulate such scenarios before deploying, synchronization between those simulators is vital. Existing works aimed at resolving this issue fall short of addressing diversity among deployed agents. In this work, we propose SynchroSim, an integrated co -simulation middleware to simulate a heterogeneous multi-robot system. Here we propose a velocity difference-driven adjustable window size approach with a view to reducing packet loss probability. It takes into account the respective velocities of deployed agents to calculate a suitable window size before transmitting data between them. We consider our algorithm specific simulator agnostic but for the sake of implementation results, we have used Gazebo as a Physics simulator and NS -3 as a network simulator. Also, we design our algorithm considering the Perception -Action loop inside a closed communication channel, which is one of the essential factors in a contested scenario with the requirement of high fidelity in terms of data transmission. We validate our approach empirically at both the simulation and system level for both line -of-sight (LOS) and non -line-of-sight (NLOS) scenarios. Our approach achieves a noticeable improvement in terms of reducing packet loss probability (approximate to 11%), and average packet delay (approximate to 10%) compared to the fixed window size-based synchronization approach.

Existing nutrient sensors have shortcomings, such as their long measurement cycles (more than 1 h), low sensitivity, and infeasibility for use in vertical profiling systems. To deal with these drawbacks, in the current work, we devised a photoelectric detection scheme for a multichannel nutrient sensor in seawater[1]. the multi-channel detection method is adopted, that is, 5 independent light source driving circuits and 5 independent photoelectric detection circuits work at the same time, so as to realize the multi-channel simultaneous measurement of nutrient salts. the optical signals with stable wavelength and power emitted by 5 LEDs are irradiated to the corresponding circulation pool respectively, and the output optical signals are transmitted to the detection function module in the pressure resistant cabin through the optical water tight connector. All of the photoelectric signals are sent to a high-precision A/D (Analog-to-Digital Converter) unit for synchronous collection after I/V (Current to voltage conversion) and filtering. the concentration of nutrient salt corresponding to the absorbance is then obtained using the Beer-Lambert law. the obtained results indicate that the sensor based on the proposed scheme can reach a detection frequency of 1 Hz. this sensor is superior to the traditional nutrient sensor in terms of its operation in vertical profiling systems, allowing for decreases in sensing time of as much as 90% when compared with traditional instruments. the greatest advantage of the proposed sensor scheme is that it can be broadly used in vertical profiling systems for deep-sea investigation and research. © 2024 ieee.

In this paper proposed and investigated a capacitive sensor with parallel coplanar electrodes systems for measuring the air gap between the stator core bore and the rotor poles in a powerful hydroelectric generator. Air gap control is one of the key elements in condition monitoring hydrogenerators. Air gap sensor consists of a system of strip parallel coplanar high-potential and low-potential electrodes of equal width, between which grounded electrodes are placed. the electrodes that formed on a dielectric substrate. To reduce the impact of edge effects on the short sides of the high-potential electrodes, the length of the low-potential electrodes is chosen to be smaller than the length of the high-potential electrodes by an amount. the electrical capacity between the system of parallel-connected high-potential electrodes and the system of parallel-connected low-potential electrodes, which functionally depends on the size of the air gap, is measured. the conversion function of the sensor was determined analytically and with the help of crankcase modeling. A sample of the sensor intended for use on a capsule hydroelectric generator type SGK538/160-70M was obtained. Compared to analogues, the sensor has a higher measurement accuracy. A sensor or a system of sensors as part of a component for condition monitoring and diagnostic systems. © 2023 ieee.

In this paper, the work's goal is to analyze as well as conceive a sensor fault-tolerant fuzzy T-S controller, based on the feedback of reconstructed states, via the Takagi-Sugeno (T-S) fuzzy model which is influenced by the sensor faults. the control strategy proposed in this work aims at stabilizing the closed loop system, although sensor faults exist, as well as compensating their effects. For this, a multiobserver is designed so as to estimate, at the same time, the system states and the sensor faults. For the design of the sensor fault-tolerant fuzzy T-S controller, we base the analysis and the stability study on the Lyapunov quadratic function and the Linear Matrix Inequalities (LMIs) formulation. Furthermore, the performance optimization technique aims to reduce the derivation impacts of sensor faults on the system states and estimation errors. the multiobserver and the fuzzy T-S controller gains are simultaneously determined by the resolution of the LMI conditions. Finally, the control approach proposed in this work is applied in simulation to a real example which is a manipulator arm operated by a DC motor, so as to show the suggested control technique efficiency.
