Because WSNs (wireless sensor networks) are connected to the internet, they are an effective network for solving practical issues. A lightweight, equipment sensor with computational possibilities and limited power supplies is available in WSN as new technologies develop quickly. However, there is a significant security issue with this network. Because of the wireless communication channel, it is now challenging to guard against numerous attacks like DoS (Denial of Service). As a consequence, several different methods for identifying DoS attacks have indeed been suggested. Several indicators, including bandwidth, PDR (packet delivery ratio), and E2E (end to end) latency are calculated to assess the impact of an attack on a network. the simulations make use of real-world datasets. Even while simulations demonstrate that DoS attacks make WSNs less resilient, certain systems have been shown to be good at spotting DoS attacks. © 2022 ieee.

Wireless sensor Networks (WSNs) are a crucial component in the fabric of the Internet of things (IoT) ecosystem, enabling a myriad of applications ranging from environmental monitoring to precision agriculture and smart cities. However, these sensors are constrained in terms of energy, computing power, and storage which makes reliable communication a critical research challenge. To address these challenges, unequal clustering has emerged as a promising solution where clusters are intentionally formed with varying sizes to accommodate heterogeneous capabilities and energy demands across the network. In this paper, we introduce a novel Multi-Objective and Randomly distributed Fuzzy Logic-based Unequal Clustering (MORF-UC) scheme to address the challenge of energy management and hotspot issues in WSNs. By leveraging fuzzy logic to account for variables such as distance to the base station (BS), residual energy, node concentration, and data forwarding ratio of nodes, this scheme aims to extend network lifetime, energy use, and data transmission reliability while mitigating the hot spot issues. Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed methodology outperforms existing methods such as TTDFP and MOUOC in the energy conservation, network lifetime extension, and throughput enhancement, thereby offering a significant advancement in the field of WSN optimization.

Blockchain is a distributed and immutable ledger managed by all participants. the full nodes which store the entire ledger play an essential role in managing it in a transparent and decentralised manner. However, it is difficult t o v erify that full nodes store the entire ledger in their dedicated storage due to Sybil, outsourcing, or generation attacks. Existing work on proving storage for cloud computing and remote data storage applications has high latency for decryption, and its impact on decentralisation is unclear, rendering it impractical for use in blockchain. In this paper, we propose a decentralised Practical Proof of Storage (PPoS) solution for blockchain full nodes with asymmetric latencies for encryption and decryption, which introduces a chained encryption and decryption architecture. To generate a unique replica of a block, each full node performs encryption with its own address and a previously encrypted block, storing the unique block in its dedicated storage. In PPoS, encryption is expensive and time consuming, enabling it to detect outsourcing and generation attacks and to deter Sybil attacks. Simultaneously, decryption is about 25 times faster than encryption, resulting in minimal performance overhead. the proof process is also decentralised by randomly selecting provers, verifiers, a nd e ncrypted b locks. Our e xperiments u se u p t o 720 real BitCoin blocks to evaluate the performance and quantify the decentralisation of PPoS. Our results show that PPoS's asymmetric design reduces decryption time 25-fold over existing approaches, while maintaining a high degree of decentralisation, confirming i ts s uitability f or b lockchain f ull nodes.

Recently, user privacy in distributed computing has received increasing attention. Matrix multiplication is one of the fundamental high-frequency operations in distributed machine learning (e.g., gradient descent, linear regression). this paper studies the batch Fully Private distributed Matrix Multiplication (FPMM) problem. In batch FPMM, the user aims to compute multiple desired matrix multiplications from two public libraries which are stored across all workers. Batch FPMM requires that colluding workers cannot obtain the indexes of all desired ma-trices in the two public libraries (i.e., privacy constraint). In this paper, we first propose the Bath fullY privatE schemE (BYEE) to encode multiple desired matrix multiplications together based on the construction of bilinear complexity. We then perform a solid theoretical analysis to prove the privacy and decodability of BYEE. Multi-aspect analysis and extensive simulation results illustrate that BYEE can significantly reduce the computation latency than state-of-the-art schemes that do not jointly encode multiple desired matrix multiplications, especially when the number of desired matrix multiplications and the number of colluding workers are large. © 2022 ieee.

this study quantifies the yearly electricity self-sufficiency rate and self-consumption rate of a small energy community for different distributed energy resources. the efficacy of different technologies on grid-independency are presented for varying community goals and resident comfort levels. the study simulates demand side management of appliances using a non-linear integer programming algorithm. Results show that the efficacy of distributed energy resources is highly dependent on resident engagement and community goals and highlight the importance of defining goals and values of residents before constructing community energy systems.

Symmetrical fault is the most severe fault in the power network. this occurs rarely however with equal amount of severe currents in the three phases. Now, in an active distribution network (ADN) shunt faults such as load fault or line tripping faults are observed to occur frequently due to uncertain penetration of distributed generated (DG) power from the distributed energy resources (DERs). the impact of different fault parameters such as phase voltages, phase angles and current flows due to symmetrical fault with variable fault impedance in ADN is noticeable. Hence, the analysis of symmetrical fault for different fault impedances are required to study in the ADN. In this work, the impact symmetrical fault with three fault impedances is taken into consideration including bolted fault in an ADN utilizing Power World Simulator. Moreover, the symmetrical fault is analyzed individually at different buses such as generator bus, load bus, and DG connected buses as available in the network to compare the severity of the fault and variation of the fault impedances at the different buses while measuring the fault parameters. the result analysis shows that the bolted fault has the highest severity on the ADN particularly at the DG connected load bus. It is also observed that when the fault impedance is increasing the severity of the symmetrical fault reduces in the network. © 2023 ieee.

As one of the most abundant renewable biomaterials, cellulose has been widely used in flexible electronic devices. Here we proposed a flexible and environmentally friendly thin film pressure sensor composed of TEMPO-oxidized cellulose nanofiber (CNF) and graphite. the as-made Graphite/CNF (GC) thin film has a multiplayer structure and tunable conductivity. the as-made GC-based pressure sensor exhibits excellent flexibility, fast response/recovery, and repeatability. Also, wearable applications including motion detection and touch recognition were also demonstrated. Moreover, the easy disposable property of the device has been demonstrated. this work proposed a simple and low-cost method for utilizing sustainable biomaterials and developing green pressure sensors that have the potential for mass production. © 2023 ieee.

Food waste management at the global level requires new technologies for an item-level monitoring of the volatile molecules emitted by food inside the package. the use of conventional chemical sensors requiring complex electronics is prevented at the large scale by not affordable costs. A possible solution can come from the Laser-Induced Graphene (LIG) technology that permits to impress a complex circuit onto a polymeric substrate by means of laser engraving. We here propose the first zero-power wireless sensors on polyimide for amine detection, useful for hazard evaluation in case of consumption, where both the interdigitated sensor and the communication antenna are entirely made by LIG with non-uniform lasing parameters. the device is flexible, is capable of detecting less than 15% concentration of triethylamine and is readable up to 1.5m by resorting to the backscattering modulation framework of Radiofrequency Identification in the UHF band. © 2023 ieee.

distributed tracing plays a vital role in microservice infrastructure, and learning-based trace analysis has been utilized to detect anomalies within such systems. However, existing approaches for learning-based trace-based anomaly detection face certain limitations. Some assume that trace patterns can be learned solely from normal executions, while others depend on anomaly injection to generate labeled traces categorized as normal or anomalous. However, in practical scenarios, anomalies may also happen during the normal execution. Moreover, a wide variety of anomalies may occur in practice, which cannot be captured solely through anomaly injection. To address these issues, we propose a Trace-Driven Anomaly Detection (TDAD) approach based on a Span Causal Graph (SCG) representation, which trains a model using a Graph Neural Network (GNN) and Positive and Unlabeled (PU) learning. this technique allows the model parameters to be optimized by estimating the underlying data distribution. As a result, TDAD can be effectively trained using a small number of labeled anomalous traces along with a relatively large number of unlabeled traces. Our evaluation reveals that TDAD outperforms not only the existing unsupervised trace-based anomaly detection methods by 11.9% in terms of F-1-score but also a supervised learning-based benchmark by 12x in terms of detection time.

With rapid falling of investment cost of PV and battery storage, and increasing peak-valley difference electricity price on the user-side, the distributed PV plus battery storage system (DPBS) is going to have economic feasibility in some regions. this paper proposed a new modified levelized cost of electricity (LCOE) model by taking into account of battery operation mode and battery's renovation requirement within the whole DPBS project lifetime. Two battery storage usage modes, with low utilization hours or high utilization hours, were set to study its economic behaviors. the LCOE costs of distributed PV, battery storage, and DPBS were calculated respectively to analyze battery configuration prospects in different regions and for different end-users. Research result comes to two findings. High utilization hours of battery storage is in favor of lowing system cost under current user-side peak-valley difference electricity prices. Under the current conditions, such as investment cost, user-side electricity price, etc., for industrial and commercial customers in most regions in China, the electricity supply costs from DPBS had already lower than that of power gird. © 2023 ieee.
