Reliable data transmission in a wireless sensor network is one of the it most significant factors in order to guarantee dependable and efficient sensor data delivery. As sensor network applications diversify and increase, the transmission reliability of sensor data is of uppermost importance. In this paper, we propose a hybrid hop-by-hop reliable approach based on ieee 802.15.4, which has adaptive link control and enhanced hop-by-hop reliability. the adaptive link control scheme considers the packet's application type and the destination's link status. the proposed hybrid hop-by-hop approach selects an optimized MAC transmission state of related parameters, followed by an additional operation of finding alternative paths for a reliable transmission. In addition, a nodal caching and one hop acknowledgement schemes are used for enhancing hop-by-hop reliability further. We evaluated the proposed approach using NS-2 and C code simulation. Compared withthe ieee 802.15.4 MAC scheme, the simulation results show that the proposed approach is much more robust and reliable in the large number of hops and highly error-prone situation. Finally, we showed our own sensor H/W platform and analysis tool.

Wireless sensor networks (WSNs) composed of a large number of cheap microsensor nodes with limited battery power and highly correlated collected data is intelligent and autonomous system for measure and management. To reduce the redundant data among the nodes and consequently prolong networks' lifetime, clustering protocols which perform applicationspecific local data aggregation have been put forward. To balance energy consumption in the whole network, in this paper, we propose and analyze energy-balanced adaptive clustering hierarchy (EBACH) protocol, a novel approach adding a new kind node called relay-node besides cluster-head and cluster member node. Simulation results demonstrate that our energy balancing mechanism can obviously improve the system performance compared with general clustering protocols.

In this paper, we present an ultra low power ieee802.15.4 module and its applications for batteryless wireless sensors. We realized the module with very low power consumption. the sleep current Including LCD is 3.5uA and average current is 5uA with 10 second data sampling period this module is expected to work with two AA batteries for 10 years or longer. We tested some batteryless wireless sensor applications, including a solar power generator, a vibration power generator and a micro wind power generator. In the solar power generator test, we realized that continuous operation under ordinary office environment with a small panel sized 53mm x 50mm.

In networked embedded sensorsystems, data fusion is a viable solution to significantly reduce energy consumption while achieving real-time guarantee. Emerging data fusion applications demand efficient task allocation and scheduling techniques. However, existing approaches can not be effectively applied concerning both network. topology and wireless communications. In this paper, we formally model TATAS, the Topology-Aware Task Allocation and Scheduling problem for real-time data fusion applications, and show it is NP-complete. We also propose an efficient three-phase heuristic to solve the TATAS problem. We implement our technique and conduct experiments based on a simulation environment. Experimental results show that, as compared with traditional approaches, our technique can achieve significant energy saving and effectively meet the real-time requirements as well.

this paper shows the first step of a fault tolerant control system (FTCS) to control active suspension on a full-car suspension model. In this paper, the elimination of the inevitable pitch and roll actions of a spring suspension between each axle and the body of a vehicle is studied. An actuator (linear motor) producing an electromagnetic force and a pneumatic force acting simultaneously on the same output element is used. this linear motor acts as a force generator that compensates instantly for the disturbing effects of the road surface. Recent years have seen active development of context-aware applications and systemsthat helps the development. However, it suffers from increasing fears for leakages of users' activity information to other users unconsciously, since the owner of the activity information included in the sensor data is not treated in context-aware systems. We propose the Area-Based Activity Information Preservation (ABAIP) system that enables users to control the level of data resolution of their activity information to allow applications to use. Degrading sensor data resolution causes coarse grained context recognition. the system prevents unconscious and unnecessary activity information leakage amongst the ABAIP system users, while providing ubiquitous sensor environment for various kinds of ubiquitous software.
