In addition, reliability issues and fault tolerance in sophisticated sensor networks have become a critical area of research today. this paper proposes a Lightweight Fault Tolerant Time Synchronization (LFTTS), an extension of Fault Tolerant Time Synchronization (FTTS), for wireless sensor networks which takes their energy limitations and faults into consideration. Simulation results show that LFTTS has improved performance in the number of messages when faults occur.

Different from traditional garbage collection (GC), in actor system GC identifying whether the object is garbage or not depends on not only its references but also its processing state. It makes garbage collection more complicate. In previous work tracing algorithms such as mark-sweep are utilized which lead to GC too complicated to be suitable for large-scale distributed system. We present in this paper a hybrid distributed garbage collection which is comprised of local GC and global GC A reverse reference is added for each reference which is from an actor that can be activated (include remotely referenced actors). then we can utilize tracing algorithm to collect local garbage. We use timestamp algorithm and backward inquiry to identify and collect global garbage. this GC scheme can collect all garbage correctly. Furthermore, it is fault tolerant and suitable for large-scale distributed system.

Multi Agent System (MAS) is an emerging subfield of distributed Artificial Intelligence, but it has already proven its metal as a significant technology that converted the mind of researchers to develop the autonomous applications. the primary problem that is fueling the need for MAS at design time is to predict all the possible situations and behaviors which would be faced by multi agent systems during its execution, so they must be dynamic and have the capability to learn from and adapt to their environments accordingly. Currently, all MASs uses static approach to load the transport level protocols without taking into consideration the requirements of the protocol by the application. To overcome the aforementioned problem in this paper we proposed a solution for message transport services that predicts the environment by calculating the frequency of protocols to dynamically upload the transport protocols. this enables the MAS to efficiently utilize the resources and when the particular task has been accomplished, free the resources and download the protocol as well. Moreover, it will support future transportation requirements that will be easily plug-in withthe existing infrastructure. Adaptability at the transport level protocols not only adds efficiency to the MAS but also make it more flexible and scaleable that ultimately increases the efficiency of overall system.

Reliable data transmission in a wireless sensor network is one of the it most significant factors in order to guarantee dependable and efficient sensor data delivery. As sensor network applications diversify and increase, the transmission reliability of sensor data is of uppermost importance. In this paper, we propose a hybrid hop-by-hop reliable approach based on ieee 802.15.4, which has adaptive link control and enhanced hop-by-hop reliability. the adaptive link control scheme considers the packet's application type and the destination's link status. the proposed hybrid hop-by-hop approach selects an optimized MAC transmission state of related parameters, followed by an additional operation of finding alternative paths for a reliable transmission. In addition, a nodal caching and one hop acknowledgement schemes are used for enhancing hop-by-hop reliability further. We evaluated the proposed approach using NS-2 and C code simulation. Compared withthe ieee 802.15.4 MAC scheme, the simulation results show that the proposed approach is much more robust and reliable in the large number of hops and highly error-prone situation. Finally, we showed our own sensor H/W platform and analysis tool.
