Where customers with different membership and position, use computers as in the university network systems, it often takes much time and efforts for them to cope withthe change of the system management. this is because the requirements for the respective computer usage are different in the network and security policies. In this paper, destination addressing control system scheme (DACS Scheme) for the university network services is shown. the DACS Scheme performs network management efficiently through the communication management of a client. As the characteristic of DACS Scheme, only the setup modification is required by a system administrator, when configuration change of the network system is performed. then, the setup modification is unnecessary by a customer, which shows a merit for both a system administrator and a customer. However, there is a problem to be solved. In existing DACS Scheme, it is promised that, DACS Client for controlling the communication must be implemented on all clients. When the client not installing DACS Client is connected to the network, each network server can be accessed from the client. therefore, in this paper, secure DACS Scheme with function to prevent the communication from the client not installing DACS Client, is proposed and examined.

Wireless sensor networks represent a key technology enabler for enhanced health care and assisted living systems. Recent standardization efforts to ensure compatibility among sensor network systems sold by different vendors have produced the ieee 802.15.4 standard, which specifies the MAC and physical layer behavior. this standard has certain drawbacks: it supports only single-hop communication;it does not mitigate the hidden terminal problem;and it does not coordinate node sleeping patterns. the ieee 802.15.4 standard design philosophy assumes that higher layer mechanisms will take care of any added functionality. Building on ieee 802.15.4, this paper proposes TImezone COordinated Sleep Scheduling (TICOSS), a mechanism inspired by MERLIN [2] that provides multi-hop support over 802.15.4 through the division of the network into timezones. TICOSS is cross-layer in nature, as it closely coordinates MAC and routing layer behavior. the main contributions of TICOSS are threefold: (1) it allows nodes to alternate periods of activity and periods of inactivity to save energy;(2) it mitigates packet collisions due to hidden terminals belonging to nearby star networks;(3) it provides shortest path routing for packets from a node to the closest gateway. Simulation experiments confirm that augmenting ieee 802.15.4 networks with TICOSS doubles the operational lifetime for high traffic scenarios. TICOSS has also been implemented on the Phillips AquisGrain modules for testing and eventual deployment in assisted living systems. Copyright 2007 ACM.

In this paper we present the distributed event localization and tracking algorithm DELTA that solely depends on light measurements. Based on this information and the positions of the sensors, DELTA is able to track a moving person equipped with a flashlight by dynamically building groups and electing well located nodes as group leaders. Moreover, DELTA supports object localization. the gathered data is sent to a monitoring entity in a fixed network which can apply pattern recognition techniques to determine the legitimacy of the moving person. DELTA enables object tracking with minimal constraints on bothsensor hardware and the moving object. We show the feasibility of the algorithm running on the limited hardware of an existing sensor platform.

In recent years, though various kinds of sensor network systems and ubiquitous computingsystems are becoming available, applications for ocean use is quite limited. One of the main reasons, the development of broadband in the ocean area is not yet a reality. therein, the authors propose the construction of the Marine Broadband using wireless LAN which is usable in the costal region withthe goal of the improvement of safety and productivity in marine industries. As a preliminary experiment, we set up a wireless LAN base station on a coastline and conducted a 1:1 transmission experiment with a wireless LAN equipped on a vessel. As a result, we confirmed that transmission within a range of approximately 5km radius from the base station is possible. Also, constructing a sensor network system targeting vessel indicated that it is possible to create a bathymetric chart, which provides valuable operation support information for fisheries.

Withthe growing use of inverters in distributed generation, the problem of injected harmonics becomes critical. these harmonics require the connection of low pass filters between the inverter and the network this paper presents a design method for the output LC filter in grid coupled applications in distributed generation systems. the design is according to the harmonics standards that determine the level of current harmonics injected into the grid network Analytical expressions for the maximum inductor ripple current are derived. the filter capacitor design depends on the allowable level of switching components injected into the grid. this paper presents an improved passive input current waveshaping method for single-phase rectifiers (improved method-2). the simulation results show that the improved method can further lower the input current components and thDi of a single-phase diode rectifier as compared withthe passive current waveshaping method by Ji Yanchao (improved method-1) and by P. D. Ziogas (novel method). the relevant input current and voltage waveforms, the input current total harmonic distortion and the input power factor value are derived from the computer simulation or theoretical analysis.
