As deep learning grows rapidly, model training heavily relies on parallel methods and there exist numerous cluster configurations. However, current preferences for parallel training focus on data centers, overlooking the financial constraints faced by most researchers. To attain the best performance within the cost limitation, we introduce a throughput-cost metric to accurately characterize clusters' cost-effectiveness. Based on this metric, we design a cost-effective cluster featuring the 3090 with NVLink. the experiment results demonstrate that our cluster achieves remarkable cost-effectiveness in various distributed model training schemes. © 2023 ieee.

the data-driven industry has benefited greatly from the edge computing platform. the general architecture places data storage and computation close to the source of the data. Recent industrial applications and machine learning environments necessitate fast data transmission to a centralized data center for further processing. As a result, clients expect low latency when collecting and processing the data. Data processing can utilize edge computing in three different ways. Bots, distributed denial of service attacks, artificial intelligence and machine learning are all examples of DDoS attacks. the goal of DDoS is to impede the availability of network-connected systems. they generate excessive traffic to the targeted servers will deplete the computational and communication resources. Edge computing provides substantial assistance to lightweight devices to complete a complex task. According to the statistics, the attacks are distiibuted denial of service, malware, side channel attacks, authorization and authentication attacks. this research work examines the distributed denial of service attacks on cloud and fog computing, which are similar to edge computing. they offer what appear to be effective solutions to the threat. this study also discusses about the current research challenges and future directions in this field. © 2023 ieee.

this paper investigates the multi-target localization in distributed passive sensor system in terms of blockchain technology. In this distributed framework, each sensor captures and analyzes the angle measurement data of targets locally, and uploads the results onto blockchain network for coordination among nodes. Subsequently, smart contracts automatically associate data obtained from external sensors to establish an estimate of the target location. We deploy a novel position estimation smart contract using Remix on Ganache private blockchain. Meanwhile, we conduct simulations of the Electronic Support Measures (ESM) sensor and Angle of Arrival (AoA) measurement process using Matlab. Finally, Experimental simulations verify the effectiveness and feasibility of the proposed algorithm for target localization in distributed passive sensor networks leveraging blockchain technology.

distributed renewable energy source (DREs) is an effective supplement to traditional centralized power generation systems. However, how to allocate the DREs and how to evaluate the maximum integration ratio of DREs are the two main obstacles hindering the development of DREs. To tackle these problems, this paper proposes a novel optimal allocation method for DREs in distribution power systems with static voltage stability as the constraint. Based on the optimal allocation method, one maximum integration ratio of DREs in the distribution power system is studied. the theoretical analysis and case studies show the effectiveness of the proposed allocation and evaluation methods of DREs. Moreover, the proposed allocation method of DREs can achieve high efficiency and low power loss. © 2024 ieee.

the outlier-resistant distributed fusion estimation (DFE) issue is researched in this paper for cyber-physical systems (CPSs) with bandwidth constraints. the weighted try-once-discard (WTO D) protocol is used on the sensor-to-estimator channels. A group of outlier-resistant local estimators are devised. the corresponding fusion estimation error system (FEES) model is established. Utilizing Lyapunov theory and linear matrix inequality (LMI) method, sufficient conditions which make FEES asymptotically stable under a preset H∞ index are derived, and local estimator gains and fusion weighting matrices are attained. In the end, to prove the validity of the method developed, a numerical example is provided. © 2023 ieee.

this paper proposes a visualization function for developers in volunteer computing. In recent years, information systems such as e-Learning systems and groupware have been introduced in companies and educational institutions to promote DX, but the introduction and operation of these systems incur a large cost burden. therefore, we are developing a distributed information system that can be introduced and operated at low cost by utilizing surplus computers (idle computers) in an organization. Idle computers are unstable depending on the operations of their original users and have different performances. In order to use idle computers efficiently, it is necessary to improve the performance of the system and modify it to add new functions, taking into account the differences in behavior and performance of each machine. In this paper, visualization for developers to easily check the behavior and performance of a computer in an idle state is developed, and its usefulness is evaluated through experiments using a real system. © 2023 ieee.

Appling mathematical modeling methods for analyses synchronization processes of distributed data processing systems makes it possible to significantly optimize these processes and guarantee the required level of consistency. To analyze stochastic distributed synchronization procedures, mathematical modeling tools are needed to adequately reflect their stochastic nature and form a probabilistic time characteristics assessment of the shared resource ownership distributed between the parallel processes. the research carried out within the current paper shows that stochastic modeling tools are able to solve a number of complex problems in this area and in particular to adapt synchronization algorithms for use in heterogeneous computing systems with a different set of hardware components and providing an acceptable synchronization time for a large amount of data. the paper essentially analyzes Markov synchronization models with group maintenance and considers tools for bringing these models to the case of arbitrary service time. © 2023 ieee.

the advancements in distributed computing and technologies such as Industry 4.0 have rapidly deployed wireless sensor networks. In many scenarios, battery-connected wireless sensors gather the surrounding information that is to be aggregated at a base station. the volume of data generated from large-scale wireless networks has significant impacts on storage, network latency, and bandwidth. this demands efficient data aggregation systems for new-generation smart networks. Compressed sensing techniques are proven to deliver efficient compression for sparse signals. this paper evaluates the extension of such compression techniques to distributed low-power wireless sensor networks for efficient data aggregation. © 2023 ieee.
