Automated detection of abnormal events in processes in real time is an urgent and important task. To identify various kinds of anomalies, various Data Mining methods are often used. Often, to obtain high accuracy of the analysis, preliminary training is required using a large amount of data and representative samples. However, it is not always possible to obtain a representative sample of various kinds of anomalies from real sources. this paper proposes an approach to modeling datasets generated by distributed heterogeneous monitoring systems.

the sole objective of this work is to develop a speed sensor for acidic and radiation environment. the existing speed sensors available in market like Tacho-generator, Hall Effect type speed sensor and optical encoder type speed sensor has low life expectancies in acidic and radiation environment. the variable reluctance sensor available in the market uses a normal pickup coil around a permanent magnet. But the magnetic field of permanent magnet diminishes with time, ambient temperature and vibration. Insulation of the coil also gets damaged in acidic environment. the proposed variable reluctance sensor is more rugged and can be used in harsh environment with suitable design adaptations. As the behaviour of permanent magnet in acidic environment is not well studied, it is decided to use an electromagnet in place of permanent magnet and stainless steel sheathed Mineral Insulated copper core (MI Cable) for winding the coils so that it can withstand acidic and radiation environment. the Speed sensor based on Variable Reluctance principle has been designed, analysed and fabricated. the effect of air-gap, exciting current, and speed of the motor on the output of the sensor was obtained in actual field condition. A signal conditioning circuit is developed and its response is also studied for conditioning the noisy output of the variable reluctance sensor.

Forest fires pose significant threats to both the environment and human life, necessitating the development of advanced detection and prevention systems. In this study, we propose an integrated IoT (Internet of things)-based system for early detection and management of forest fires. the system incorporates a range of sensors including heat, gas, and thermal imaging sensors, along with IoT technology for real-time monitoring and communication. Utilizing image processing techniques and (ML) Machine Learning algorithms, the system can accurately detect fires, predict their spreading patterns, and analyze environmental conditions. Key features include the deployment of disposable heat sensors for temperature monitoring, IoT sensors for gas detection and weather monitoring, and a centralized processing node for data analysis. Alerts are sent to nearby authorities and residents, while automated firefighting devices are activated to suppress fires until backup arrives. Experimental results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed system in early detection and prevention of forest fires.

Pervasive intelligence promises to revolutionize society from Industrial Internet of things (IIoT), to smart infrastructure and homes, to personal health monitoring. Unfortunately, many edge devices that are pervasively embedded into infrastructure or implanted into humans are severely resource-constrained. As performing computations at the edge becomes increasingly important to meet latency deadlines and retain sensitive data locally, severe resource constraints present a challenge because many algorithms are too large to fit on a single edge device. In this paper, we focus on distributing inference for neural networks (NNs) with convolution and fully connected layers across multiple edge nodes. In order to improve efficiency on severely resource-constrained edge nodes for diverse NN architectures we present an end-to-end, automated approach, DENNI, that optimizes NN distribution with minimal nodes while meeting memory constraints. When targeting a network of edge nodes with 256KB of nonvolatile memory connected with Bluetooth Low Energy, DENNI successfully distributes NN inference for a variety of machine learning algorithms across multiple edge nodes where other, static approaches cannot.

Private and public organizations have long relied on intrusion detection systems to alert them of malicious activity in their digital networks. these systems were designed to detect threat signatures in static networks or infer anomalous activity based on their security 'logs'. they are, however, of limited use to detect threats across heterogeneous, modern-day networks, where computing resources are distributed across cloud or routing services. Recent advancements in machine learning have led to the development of autonomous threat detection (ATD) applications that monitor, evaluate, and respond to malicious activity with minimal human intervention. the use of 'intelligent' and programmable algorithms for ATD will reduce incident response times and enhance the capacity of states to detect threats originating from any layer of their territorial information and communications technologies (ICT) infrastructure. this paper argues that ATD technologies will influence the evolution of a due diligence Mc for cyberspace by raising the standard of care owed by states to prevent their networks from being used for malicious, transboundary ICT activities. this paper comprises five sections. Section 1 introduces the paper and its central argument. Section 2 outlines broad trends and operational factors pushing public and private entities towards the adoption of ATD. Section 3 offers an overview of a typical ATD application. Section 4 analyses the impact of ATD on the due diligence obligations of states. Section 5 presents the paper's conclusions.

Patient surveillance is critical in-order to decrease and/or avoid the spread of the chronic conditions. Although effective, the traditional healthcare systems of patient monitoring are limited, making it difficult for ambulatory patient seek medical care and have their physiological parameters evaluated. Advent of wireless technology and advancements in on-body sensor design have enabled a shift in the traditional health-care system. thereby, allowing smart healthcare systems to take its place. this paper aims to describe the design and development of wireless based telemonitoring system with biomedical sensors for vulnerable individuals. Non-invasive biomedical sensors, signal condition system, Internet of things (IoT), radio frequency module (RF) was used to implement the design. the sensors were used to collect physiological parameters before transferring over the hybrid transmission medium. thing-Speak and graphic user interface (GUI) were used to display the results. the system design was successfully deployed, with efficient transmission of patient data with an average accuracy of 99.06%. the hybrid wireless monitoring system can give continuous physiological data as well as more detailed information about an individual's overall health. Hybrid wireless physiological parameter monitoring system has the potential of enhancing the quality of life of disease management individuals and lower healthcare expenditures. © 2024 ieee.

the digitisation of the smart electrical grid provides several advantages and valuable services, such as self-monitoring, pervasive control and smart healing. However, despite the benefits of this progression, critical cybersecurity and privacy issues are raised due to the vulnerabilities of legacy Electrical Power and Energy systems (EPES) and the evolution of stealthy cyberthreats and malware. In this paper, we give emphasis to False Data Injection Attacks (FDIAs) that can affect the EPES State Estimation (SE). In particular, we investigate two FDIA categories, namely: (a) Global Positioning System (GPS) Spoofing Attacks and (b) ieee C37.118 FDIAs against an actual testbed emulating a high-voltage ieee 9-Bus transmission grid. Finally, we provide a relevant Intrusion Detection System (IDS) capable of detecting the aforementioned FDIAs. the evaluation analysis demonstrates the impact of the above FDIAs and the efficiency of the proposed IDS.

Fault localization in power supply networks is a central and important task for network operators. In this context, earth faults form a significant proportion of faults in distribution networks. In solidly grounded or isolated networks, reliable detection and localization of the fault is already state of the art. Fault direction detection of single-pole faults in compensated networks, especially in overhead line networks, poses challenges for network operators. In many cases, the overhead line indicators used in overhead line networks do not detect the voltage with sufficient accuracy to determine unambiguous fault directions. In this paper, the influence of climate, especially humidity, on a voltage measurement method for overhead line indicators is analyzed. Extensive climate chamber measurements are performed, which form the basis for the development of a simulation model to simulate the influence of humidity. the theoretical model explains the physical influences of humidity on the voltage measurement of overhead line indicators. With this knowledge recommendations for the design of overhead line indicators with lower susceptibility to interference in the presence of moisture may be optimized.

Various low-power and low-cost network sensors are employed in wireless sensor networks (WSNs) to detect changes in surroundings, gather data, analyze the data, and transport the processed data through a base station (BS). Additionally to the dispersion uneven of the clusterheads, this sort of network experiences limited power anda brief lifespan. the LEACH (Low Energy Adaptive Clustering Hierarchy) protocol is employed to address this issue since it guarantees that chosen cluster leaders are going to be evenly distributed throughout the network, hence reducing energy consumption. Simulation results demonstrate that the improved approach can reduce energy usage and extend the network's life-cycle.
