the super luminescent diode light source (SLD) is an important component in fiber-optic gyroscope. And wavelength temperature stability is one of its key parameters. Effective temperature compensation system has been designed in previous works to stabilize its wavelength stability, which consists of driver module and thermal control module. For the driver module, temperature compensation model should be used to obtain stabilized current output. And for thermal control module, optical power change model is needed to obtain stabilized mean wavelength. Both models need to be well-established. In this work, intelligent modelling systems have been designed and realized for driver module and thermal control module. And fuzzy control algorithm is used for fine adjustment during modelling process. the intelligent modelling systems consequently improved the modelling efficiency and accuracy, and further improved the mean wavelength stability of SLD light source. Compared with traditional methods of mean wavelength drift suppression, after using the final model established by intelligent modelling systems, a wavelength stability improvement of one order of magnitude has been finally demonstrated.

Lithium-ion batteries are ubiquitous in modern society. their high power and energy density compared to other forms of electrochemical energy storage make them very popular in a wide range of applications [1]. To ensure safe, prolonged, and reliable operations, significant research effort has been put into understanding, modelling, and predicting the key limiting phenomena, which has led to various battery models with different levels of complexity and prediction capabilities [2]. this work focuses on implementing the pseudo-two-dimensional (P2D) model, the most widely accepted electrochemical model on lithium-ion batteries. the unparalleled prediction abilities of the P2D model, however, are over shadowed by its high complexity. thus, much of this work focuses on model reduction to shorten effective simulation time. In the end, four model reductions have been identified and successfully implemented. Comparisons to the full model at 1C, 2C and 5C discharge rates are reported. the integration of Industry 4.0 technologies must consider the place of the operator in the production. In this paper, we adopt a human-machine cooperation perspective for modelling operator 4.0 in industrial systems. Our approach is supported by Cognitive Work Analysis (CWA) method. We used three phases of the CWA: Work Domain Analysis (WDA), control Task Analysis (ConTA), and Social Organization and Cooperation Analysis (SOCA), to model the functional and cognitive constraints as well as the function allocation. the paper especially uses two modeling tools - Abstraction Hierarchy and Decision Ladder that could support the positioning and the design of Technology 4.0-based assistance systems. this model is applied to the specific activity of orders picking. this activity integrates both function of planning and organization of the different production lots and these functions can be shared between order picker 4.0 and specific Industry 4.0 technologies. In recent past, a variety of control approaches were proposed that serve the stabilization of coupled network systems despite time delay. Especially in teleoperation setups, where the input device displays the interaction forces and torques of the remote coupled robot with its environment to a human operator. this force feedback should represent the physical behavior of a coupling at zero time delay. However, most control approaches aim to limit the force feedback for the sake of stability which does not necessarily lead to a reasonable presentation of the the remote side impedances. Recently, Singh et al. (2019) proposed an observer-based gradient controller to eliminate the force jittering on the master side. It rectified the delayed feedback force by removing the undesired increase in force which is generated by the delay in communication channel. the stability of the system was assured via the Time Domain Passivity Approach which leads to an undesired position drift. In this work the observer-based gradient approach is modified to increase it's force transparency and implemented to another recently developed position-drift free Time Domain Passivity Approach, Panzirsch et al. there is considered the dynamics of a hydroelectric power plant with two conduits - the tunnel and the hydraulic turbine penstock - and a surge tank with throttling. the water hammer phenomenon is considered under the assumption that the hydraulic turbine is shut down. Under the standard assumptions of water hammer computations, both the dynamic head and the Darcy-Weisbach losses are neglected. the consequence of all aforementioned assumptions is a model described by linear hyperbolic partial differential equations with linear non-standard boundary conditions. Further, considering the Riemann invariants of the problem along the characteristics, a system of functional differential equations with deviated argument of neutral type is associated to the basic model. this system displays two rationally independent delays. Its stability is studied using the Lyapunov functional approach and taking into account the dissipativeness of the boundary conditions. Copyright (C) 2019. the Authors. Published by Elsevier Ltd. Cyclic calcium release and uptake in heart cells has an important role in heart rhythm and contraction, and it is known that the malregulation of calcium release is a predictor for cardiac arrhythmia. A model of this calcium release process was proposed, which consists of a large number of discrete calcium release sites, each involving stiff, stochastic, and non-linear systems. In this paper we have developed a simulation of this calcium release model, which is parallel across the problem. the simulation is developed in a CUDA framework to be solved using GPUs. Computational efficiency is enhanced by using a DIIRK solver and taking advantage of the sparsity of the Jacobian. the output is shown to display behaviour similar to empirical observations, in particular displaying behaviour known as calcium waves. the active braking control system is an active safety system designed to prevent accidents and to stabilize dynamic manoeuvers of a vehicle by generating an artificial yaw moment using differential braking forces. In this paper, the yaw-roll model of a single unit heavy vehicle is used for studying the active braking system by using the longitudinal braking force at each wheel. the grid-based LPV approach is used to synthesize the H-infinity/LPV controller by considering the parameter dependant weighting function for the lateral acceleration. the braking monitor designs are proposed to allow the active braking system to react when the normalized load transfer at the rear axle reaches the criteria of rollover +/-1. the simulation results indicate that the active braking system satisfies the adaptation of vehicle rollover in an emergency situation, with low braking forces and improved handling performance of the vehicle. this paper focuses on the design of two different delay-based control schemes. these two low-complexity controllers are proposed as alternatives for the classical PD and PI controllers. More precisely, first, we study a PD controller using the Euler approach for approximating the derivative action. Second, we analyze the implications of imposing a delay in the error signal on the integral action of the PI controller for closed-loop response manipulation purposes. Our main contribution lies in proposing some practical guidelines for the tuning of these delayed control schemes such that the closed-loop system is stable. To this end, the criteria developed in this work makes use of the well-known D-partition method, with the difference that we propose a simple criterion to detect stabilizing regions, avoiding in this way the crossing direction analysis. the paper provides PID controller tuning for the third-order plants with delay. For obtaining the PID setting the dominant three-pole placement is applied to achieve desired dynamics this dynamics is proposed such that to overcome well-known Ziegler-Nichols (Z-N) tuning rule. the desired dynamics proposal is found out by the integrated absolute error (IAE) optimization of the fourth-order PID control loop with delay. the initial guess for this optimization is based on ultimate frequency assessment and the IAE optimization is performed with respect to disturbance rejection. the dominant three-pole placement approach to the PID tuning is designed for oscillatory, aperiodic and integrating plants of the third-order. In the paper a proposal of active vibration suppression is made for the two-degree-of-freedom primary structure. the active vibration suppression of both masses of the primary structure is achieved by applying the absorber attached to every mass. the absorbers used are the delayed resonators which are tuned by delayed acceleration feedback. the delayed resonators are tuned separately, i.e. the tuning is provided for every mass of the primary structure where each mass is excited by its own external force. Both delayed resonator tunings are performed with respect to the suppression of both external forces and at the same time the stability guarantee of overall structure system. this system due to two feedback delays results in neutral-type system that requires demanding stability investigation. Finally the application example based on the simulation study on laboratory setup vibration suppression shows the effect of the delayed resonator tunings for the vibration suppression.
