Adaptively controlling and minimizing regret in unknown dynamical systems while controlling the growth of the system state is crucial in real-world applications. In this work, we study the problem of stabilization and regret minimization of linear over-actuated dynamical systems. We propose an optimism-based algorithm that leverages possibility of switching between actuating modes in order to alleviate state explosion during initial time steps. We theoretically study the rate at which our algorithm learns a stabilizing controller and prove that it achieves a regret upper bound of O(root T). Copyright (C) 2022 the Authors.

Load modelling is one of the areas in power system engineering that is often overlooked but has a considerable impact on power system dynamics Load modelling still needs further investigation to develop an adequate and precise load model. Consumer's demand depends on their behaviour, seasonal factor, time factor and other exogenous factors. It is a challenging task to maintain the power quality, stability and adequacy of the system with a changing load behaviour. this paper focuses on the mathematical representation of residential and commercial load characteristics of a distribution feeder from bottom-up approach. A composite static load modelling approach is presented in the paper, which is classified into three major sections i.e. load inventory survey, laboratory experiment and parameter estimation Consumer's load behaviour and appliances have been determined from the survey. Similarly, voltage -power correlation of load from laboratory experiments assist to classify the consumer's load and parameter estimation is based on the load composition of a certain time duration. In this work we develop an innovative framework for the dynamic modelling of natural gas transmission networks. thanks to its flexibility, this tool may be used to support operation of the network while also giving the possibility to explore and test new optimized scenarios, introduce new elements in the grid itself (ranging from new branches to new machines) and test the use of new gas mixtures. We use as benchmark the Italian high pressure gas transportation network, executing simulations of past daily operation scenarios. For input redundant linear systems, it is possible to construct distinct inputs producing identical outputs, from the same initial state. thus selecting an output does not determine uniquely the input, i.e., there exist degrees of freedom related to the choice of inputs to generate a given output. these degrees of freedom can be used to enhance the system performances without altering the output. However their determination might depend on system parameters. When some of them are not known or uncertain, it may be difficult or impossible to design distinct inputs leading to the same output. Considering uncertainties in linear systems, this paper determines if such degrees of freedom exist independently from the uncertain parameters and, in this case, provides a methodology to compute these inputs. this corresponds to the new concept of robust input redundancy, which is defined and characterized in this paper. Fractional order (FO) calculus in modelling and control applications has been increasingly popular in every scientific field due to its versatility and superiority in various instances. Moreover, the models' parameters present uncertainties, called intervals. However, the main issue of fractional order elements is related to their implementation. Usually, integer order elements are used through different approximation methods to implement such elements. None of the existing methods discuss the introduction of a fractional element in a fixed-structure robust synthesis method. the objects from the MATLAB's Robust control Toolbox could not be implied in other than well-known arithmetic operations between the parameters of the fixed-structure controllers, while existing approximations use exponential terms. To overcome this shortcoming, this work proposes and offers the algorithm for an approximation method useful in robust controller synthesis, which is validated for several numerical case studies. In this paper, subspace identification for wind turbines and more generally rotating periodic systems are investigated. Previous works have stressed the difficulty of modeling such systems as Linear Time Invariant and thus to apply classical Stochastic Subspace Identification. Such works plead for periodic or augmented theories.
