this paper studies the design of supervisory controllers with a minimum number of monitor places for safe Petri Nets using a class of specification modeled as Behavioral Constraints. A logic equivalence is established between the set of linear inequalities induced by the Behavioral Constraint and a single inequality which, using the Invariant Based control Design method, leads to a Petri Net supervisor with a single monitor place. the approach is illustrated withthe synthesis of a supervisory controller for a section of a manufacturing system. the material flow in remanufacturing process is more complex than in the primary manufacturing process. It is due to the fact that the stream of materials is dispersed after the disassembly operation and then is joint together in dispatching operations before the reassembly. Furthermore the input flow to the remanufacturing process can be reduced by sorting too worn-out components. It can be also substituted with elements from different local processes and fed with some additional supplies of new components. As a result the analysis and improvement of the material flow in remanufacturing process is a very difficult task. the previous papers focus mainly on finding the appropriate mathematical model to present the characteristics of the materials flow in remanufacturing process. the goal of the paper is to present how a multimodal approach can be implemented in order to facilitate the analysis and to improve the material flow management between workstation in a remanufacturing process. In the manufacturing domain, the development of products requires a wide range of information and enterprises should effectively be able to store and integrate data coming from different sources. Starting from the manufacturing data available in an enterprise, i.e., the product trees, the working sequences, the list of roles and resources, we define a formal model as set of matrices to represent them. these matrices are further analyzed to define a data model at the basis of MAKO (MAnufacturing Knowledge Organization) system, whose main aim is to organize the manufacturing information in a structured archive, easily accessible by the managers who need to have a comprehensive view of their manufacturing knowledge. A prototype of the MAKO system was implemented by using open-source software and its potentialities in are shown in a case study. Automated monitoring of bio-geophysical phenomena, especially those occurring in large areas, requires the use of models obtained from remote sensing data. the interaction of multiple components in the optical data flow and the non-ergodicity of the acquisition process can seriously affect the precision of the models. In order to effectively deal withthis situation, we are proposing an iterative semi-supervised learning framework that combines regression analysis leading to the final set of models with an iterative classification process. based on support vector machines (SVM) that generates data sets associated with each statistical modality. this paper presents an application of the proposed method in modeling the concentration of Water pollutants, particularly chlorophyll-a, in inland waters using multimodal satellite data sets. In allusion to the shortcomings of the traditional MES, such as menu-guided characteristics and weak adaptation capabilities, this paper proposes a webAPP-based software framework for MES, which brings the advantages of modularity, decentralization and scalability. Moreover, three key enabling technologies are discussed, i.e. multi-user role configuration and control, webAPP decomposition strategies for webAPP-MES and web database design for webAPP-MES Finally, a prototype system is developed to demonstrate the feasibility and applicability of webAPP-MES.
