the introduction of demand response concept, in addition to increment of penetration of distributed generation (DG) based on renewable energies, make opportunities for the novel control schemes to be integrated in power system on a smart grid framework. Voltage control methods in power systems needs proper coordination among reactive power resources and conventional volt/var control equipments. In this work, potential reactive power resources are investigated and then, reactive power output of renewable DG units and controllable loads along with operation of conventional voltage controllers are optimized using a centralized control scheme. Considering the variability of demand and generation, the controller would minimize voltage variations in distribution network. the operation of distribution network is optimized using genetic algorithm (GA). the method is implemented on a sample 14-bus distribution network and the results show the improvement of voltage profile of different buses.

Currently there are various methodologies for business processes formalization. As well as various approaches to business process definition. Authors find a multi-agent approach the most efficient at the current level of information technology. this became the reason for development of BPsim. DSS - a simulation-based decision support system, based on multi-agent resource conversion processes apparatus. To design the architecture authors compared several methodologies that are popular in Russia, identified positive and negative sides, and developed their own multi-agent resource conversion processes model that considers and fixes all drawbacks of existing methodologies. Paper focuses on results of this analysis, showing the main idea of each methodology, introducing it to the reader, points out the main advantages and disadvantages. Second part of the paper describes the self-developed resource conversion processes methodology, emphasizes its advantages over existing methodologies, and concludes with a brief mention of developed decision support system, based on the methodology.

We have summarized technological challenges in coal preparation plants and classified them into problems that standard engineering is adequate to solve and problems that go beyond that and merit experimental development. the impetus for this classification is that the latter type problems are qualified for governmental support in countries that are members of the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) and in many other countries. the contribution also includes methodologies for modeling of coal preparation systems. We extend the method of Reuter and van Deventer, which optimizes both network design and grade of the valuable mineral. We include the flow sheet of a simple example which includes separation screens, heavy media, and water-only cyclones, and froth flotation circuits and we have proposed a way that the empirical model for the flotation process can be extended to model heavy media, and water-only cyclones and other types of sieves and classifiers. the initial configuration has been simplified to include one of each of the four types of processing units, initially with only one species of input feed. With expansions to include recycle streams and more than one type of input species, the model could be used to suggest an alternative circuit configuration based on changed operating conditions, making use in a global control loop possible.

this paper presents a numerical study developed in order to understand the dynamic behaviour of ballasted tracks with mats including the train-track-ground interaction. In order to achieve that goal, a case study is modelled by a 2. 5D FEM-BEM formulation. the comparison between isolated and non isolated scenarios allowed concluding that the ballast mat has a dual effect,focusing on the train-track dynamic behaviour and on the reduction of high-frequency vibrations that are transmitted to the ground.
