Model Predictive Torque Control (MPTC) has been proposed as an effective alternative to conventional direct torque control (DTC) for induction motor (IM) drives. Compared to DTC, MPTC is more effective and accurate in the vector selection by incorporating the system model directly with the finite switching states. Higher calculation burden and weighting factor selection are the main disadvantages of the conventional system. In this paper, a novel method is proposed in which the number of switchings is reduced, the calculation burden is reduced and the cost function is changed in such a way that the weighting factor selection process can be avoided. © 2023 IEEE.

the impact of knowledge networks and collaborative networks on innovation performance has been widely studied, but there is a lack of empirical research on their impact on breakthrough innovation. the aim of this study is to fill this gap by examining the non-linear relationship between inventors' ability to cross structural holes in knowledge networks and breakthrough innovation performance, while considering the moderating effects of degree centrality and collaboration centrality in collaborative networks. this study used Python and UCINET to calculate variables and used zero inflation negative binomial model to test the impact of structural holes on breakthrough innovation. the research results indicate that there is an inverted U-shaped relationship between structural holes and breakthrough innovation, and the degree centrality and closeness centrality in collaborative networks have a positive regulatory effect. the research findings reveal how the knowledge combination and collaborative relationship of inventors promote knowledge dissemination and sharing, and provide new insights for exploring collaboration and innovation.

the growing demand for high-performance antennas within the terahertz (thz) frequency range is driven by their increasing relevance in the field of communication, imaging, and spectroscopy. therefore, a high-performance dual-band graphene-slotted antenna has been proposed for terahertz applications. this proposed antenna is resonating at two distinct frequency bands (1.154 thz and 2.36 thz) within the challenging constraints of the thz spectrum. A main aspect of our proposed design is the incorporation of graphene as the primary radiating element. Graphene’s remarkable electrical and thermal properties make it ideally suited for terahertz applications. Its capacity for precise tuning and high electron mobility translates into enhanced radiation characteristics. Furthermore, the proposed antenna design embraces a dual-band strategy that striving to maximize its adaptability and utility. By incorporating detaildesigned slots within the graphene structure, we have achieved the ability to produce two separate resonant frequencies within the thz range, thus amplifying its versatility for diverse terahertz communication and sensing applications. Additionally, the graphene-slotted antenna provides remarkable radiation attributes such as maximum gain, more directivity, and minimized cross-polarization, high efficiency all of which are pivotal for ensuring reliable terahertz communication and imaging. Further, the parametric analysis has been done to know the performance of antenna. the proposed antenna has been utilized for thz applications. © 2024 the Author(s).

Emotions play a crucial role in human communication, and the ability to automatically recognize them has broad applications in various domains, including human-computer interaction, affective computing, and virtual reality. Bimodal speech emotion recognition which aims to accurately recognize and interpret emotions expressed in speech signals. this article reviews the state-of-the-art techniques and methodologies employed in multimodal speech emotion recognition, highlighting the advancements in feature extraction, fusion strategies, and machine learning algorithms. Additionally, emerging trends and future directions in this field are discussed, focusing on the challenges and opportunities for improving the performance and robustness of multimodal speech emotion recognition systems. © 2023 IEEE.

Smart grids have attracted more and more attention due to the characteristic of itself that provide much more interactive solution comparing from the conventional grid, such as enabling demand side management (DSM) and demand response and so on. In smart grid, Wide Area Networks (WAN) is a part of the largest communication network that provides communication to the energy generation domains such as solar panels. Internet-of-thing (IoT) can be adopted to provide communication in WAN. However, IoT may suffer in term of quality of services as well as energy efficiency because of how far the data must transmit since WAN cover the largest area. therefore IoT-Edge computing can be adopted to process the data nearer to the sources of data generation before transmitting into the cloud services. Energy efficiency in IoT is critical especially when smart grid is considered. Specifically, when a fault occurs in a grid, the sensors and the technologies in the areas affected by the fault will be isolated and have the shortage of power supply. In this paper, we proposed power control method to curb the problem state before. To find the best action, deep reinforcement learning (DRL) is adopted. DRL has the ability to learn make decision in a dynamic environment through a combination of deep learning and reinforcement learning techniques. Simulation results show that with the proposed method, the energy efficiency manage to elevate. © 2023 IEEE.

this paper presents a technique for improved detection of macular diseases using Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) images. the method combines two pre-trained CNN models, VGG16 and InceptionV3, to form a Deep Feature Fusion of CNN that can effectively detect retinal abnormalities in Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) images. the model adaptively and explicitly fuses lower and upper layer activations to achieve better results than traditional fully connected layer features. Test results show improved performance on public databases of retinal OCT images. © 2023 IEEE.

Long distance wireless hybrid transmission data is vulnerable to noise, resulting in low data mining accuracy, large mining error and poor mining effect. therefore, a weak association mining algorithm for remote wireless hybrid transmission data under cloud computing is proposed. the moving average method is used to eliminate noise data, and the attribute values of continuous data are divided into discrete regions, make it form a unified conversion code for data conversion. the Bayesian estimation method is used for static fusion to eliminate the uncertain data with noise. the rough membership function is constructed to distinguish the truth value, complete data preprocessing. According to the principle of relationship matching between data, data feature decomposition is realized. the non sequential Monte Carlo simulation sampling method is adopted to build the data loss probability evaluation model and integrate the data association rules. In the background of cloud computing, permission item sets are generated, and the rationality of association rules is judged by the minimum support. the dynamic programming principle is used to build the mining model, and the improved DTW algorithm is used to read out and analyze the structured, semi-structured and unstructured data to obtain the weak association mining results of mixed data transmission. the experimental results show that the algorithm can completely mine data sets, and the mining error is less than 0.10, with good mining results. © ICST Institute for Computer Sciences, Social Informatics and Telecommunications engineering 2024.
