We present an efficient hardware structure for accelerating option pricing, using the Black-Schole model. Within the structure, a Multiplier Array is devised to make the pricing process fully-pipelined, and an efficient WELL19937 structure is adopted as the basic uniform random number generator, which is proven to have excellent equidistribution, very long period, and is also easy to be parallelized. Moreover, to maximize the performance/complexity efficiency, a word-length optimization method is used to determine the optimal integer and fractional word-length for signals in the design. We also develop a framework to parallelize the option pricing process, based on the Fast Jump Ahead technique. Experimental results show that our parallel framework has good scalability and is capable of achieving performance speedup roughly linearly with the number of parallel simulation cores, while retain exactly the same calculation results. Meanwhile, our framework is superior to other existing architectures reported in the literatures in terms of throughput rate, resource usage as well as the period and quality of the basic uniform random number generator. Furthermore, we implement the framework with 17 parallel simulation core targeting Xilinx xc5vlx330t FPGA device. Compared with implementations on CPU and GPU with similar chip manufacturing process, the throughput is about 365 and 2.6 times faster, while the throughput-power efficiency achieves 3293 and 59.4 time speedup, respectively. © 2021 IEEE.

the article is devoted to the issues of automating the process of designing a technological route for machining machine parts. the problems of modern CAD systems that provide similar functionality, methods and approaches to building software modules for automating route design based on advanced scientific developments in this area are considered. An approach to route design based on network programming methods, graph theory and a probabilistic approach to meeting the specified requirements for the accuracy and quality of the machined surface is proposed. the approach involves the reduction of existing reference data on various parameters of the cutting process into a single structure - "tables of accuracy". Using the methods of mathematical statistics, the probability of achieving certain quality indicators for various machining methods is estimated. thus, the issue of route design comes down to solving an optimization problem with a number of restrictions (the probability of achieving the required operational properties of the surface, the range of machine tools, etc.) and the objective function - for example, the cost, the shortest route in terms of the number of technological operations and technological installations, etc. An approach is also proposed for integrating such a system in parallel with the process of designing and layout of technological documentation, linking to an electronic digital model of a part (electronic product passport). © the Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2024.

the current research is focused on designing a multithreaded parallel solution for processing a pair of raster image files that are used to create an animation. In the computational process, a multithreaded model was used when processing arrays of data. the proposed approach is verified by a multithreaded parallel program implementation. the effectiveness of the proposed solution has been verified experimentally by processing an image with dimensions 4320x5400 and a white color mask. the obtained results in terms of execution time show an acceleration of the computational process when increasing the number of threads.

Human Activity Recognition (HAR) has recently become in the spotlight of scientific research due to the development and proliferation of wearable sensors. HAR has found applications in such areas as digital health, mobile medicine, sports, abnormal activity detection and fall prevention. Neural Networks have recently become a widespread method for dealing with HAR problems due to their ability automatically extract and select features from the raw sensor data. However, this approach requires extensive training datasets to perform sufficiently under diverse circumstances. this study proposes a novel Deep Learning - based model, pre-trained on the KU-HAR dataset. the raw, six-channel sensor data was preliminarily processed using the Continuous Wavelet Transform (CWT) for better performance. Nine popular Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) architectures, as well as different wavelets and scale values, were tested to choose the best-performing combination. the proposed model was tested on the whole UCI-HAPT dataset and its subset to assess how it performs on new activities and different amounts of training data. the results show that using the pre-trained model, especially with frozen layers, leads to improved performance, smoother gradient descent and faster training on small datasets. Additionally, the model performed on the KU-HAR dataset with a classification accuracy of 97.48% and F1-score of 97.52%, which is a competitive performance compared to other state-of-the-art HAR models.

Cloud computing has experienced rapid growth, yet data breaches and unauthorized account access continue to be significant threats. Traditional cryptographic authentication methods, although mathematically complex, often fall short in computational security. this research study integrates deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) computing to enhance cloud security through biological authentication protocols, making it suitable for widespread use. this study introduces a DNA-based cryptographic key system that exploits synthetic DNA's dense information capacity. this system integrates biochemically secure DNA signatures with current cloud architectures, providing multi-factor authentication (MFA) and encrypted access to sensitive data and transactions. the DNA cryptography protocols developed offer robust defense against common attacks, such as password leaks. Additionally, the inherent massive parallelism in biochemical reactions supports efficient processing of authentication requests, even under heavy cloud workloads.

Digital FIR filters can be efficiently implemented using distributed arithmetic (DA). Original DA provides low throughput. parallel DA is proven to be a promising technique for efficient DA implementation. Block-based parallel DA architecture proposed by Singhal and Mohanty is examined and improved by applying a modified LUT decomposition scheme. Experiments with different levels of LUT decomposition are performed with FIR filters of orders 16 and 32. the proposed architectures are implemented in Basys-3 (Artix-7, XC7A35T-1CPG236C) FPGA board. Several critical performance metrics such as the number of slices, maximum clock frequency, dynamic power consumption, and throughput are estimated for different filter orders for the targeted FPGA Board. the proposed architecture is also implemented for ASIC using a 45 nm NanGate open cell library and area, power, and delay are reported. Comparison with state-of-the-art DA architectures for FPGA implementation provides an average of 64% reduction in area and 22% improvement in throughput.

this paper proposes a strategy for deploying lightweight and miniaturized deep-learning algorithms on edge devices, aiming to solve the problems of poor accuracy in manual operations and high cost of traditional detection devices in tunnel lining void detection without relying on cloud-service conditions. By analyzing different voiceprint characteristics of knocking sounds, the Mel-Frequency Cepstral Coefficients (MFCC) are used to extract key features of sound signals, and Principal Component Analysis (PCA) and Global Average Pooling (GAP) techniques are adopted for dimension-reduction processing to reduce data volume and computational resource requirements. On the GPU platform, multi-dimensional high-speed parallel training of the Artificial Neural Network (ANN) is achieved. Using the RK3568 platform, edge-device deployment testing without relying on Internet-of-things communication is finally realized. Experimental results show that when the MFCC dimension reaches 16 and above 20, the accuracy of the test set exceeds 96%, verifying the effectiveness and high-efficiency of this scheme.

Recently, remarkable progress has been achieved in single image super-resolution using methods based on CNN and Transformer architectures. However, existing approaches often construct a substantial number of network layers, leading to a significant increase in performance requirement and memory consumption, thereby limiting the practical deployment and usability of the models. To address this issue, we propose an Alternating CNN Transformer Block and an Integrative CNN Efficient Transformer for single image super-resolution. We enhance feature extraction efficiency by combining CNN within and between Transformer modules. In addition, we propose two novel structures: Multi-branch Gated CNN and parallel Channel Attention, aiming to efficiently extract local spatial information and global channel information from images. Extensive experiments demonstrate that our model achieves high performance while maintaining low model complexity. the proposed model attains PSNR values of 32.32 and 30.78 for the Set5 and Manga109 benchmark datasets, respectively, at a scale factor of ×4.
