Tangle is a novel directed acyclic graph (DAG)-based distributed ledger preferred over traditional linear ledgers in blockchain applications because of better transaction throughput. Earlier techniques have mostly focused on comparing the performance of graph chains over linear chains and incorporating the Markov Chain Monte Carlo process in probabilistic traversals to detect unverified transactions in DAG chains. In this paper, we present a parallel detection method for unverified transactions. Experimental evaluation of the proposed parallel technique demonstrates a significant, scalable average speed-up of close to 70%, and a peak speed-up of approximately 73% for a large number of transactions.

Due to the evolution of information technology, it is becoming increasingly easy to use new platforms in order to set up efficient systems that are well adapted to the expected needs. As part of improving security and facilitating the detection of potentially dangerous persons, an intelligent application for on-board facial recognition is being developed. It is within this framework that we propose this paper. the objective of the proposed work is twofold. On the one hand, we propose to develop a module for the detection of relevant facial characteristics, which is the first step of an intelligent video surveillance application. Based on the detection of points of interest of the Landmark algorithm, a software optimization of the work is proposed. On the other hand, this application will be decomposed in order to be embedded on a multiprocessor architecture. In order to validate the multiprocessor-based approach, a comparison with other existing powerful processor architectures will allow to validate the best approach. this work will be the input for an intelligent embedded face detection application based on Machine Learning.

Today's era is technological era with cloud computing at the top level. It offers on demand service to the users. Additionally, it also allows for dynamic flexible resource allocation and works on the rule of pay as-you-use manner. In these many users can demand services at a same time so there is a provision that users are efficiently provided with the resources. Based on topology and dynamic resource allocation different optimal resource allocation are being reviewed in this paper which can be used for linear strategy of scheduling and parallel processing for [2] resource allocation. Discussion about the maximum profit to the cloud service providers by user satisfaction, what should be avoid having optimal resource strategy, and advantages disadvantages caused by resource allocation usage in cloud computing.

Autonomous micro-robots, equipped with AI for urban navigation, are being deployed for various applications, such as package delivery and surveillance. these intelligent machines require efficient path-finding algorithms to navigate complex city environments effectively. Similarly, other domains like VLSI routing, urban path planning, and wavefront propagation also demand optimal navigation solutions, as illustrated in Fig. 14.7.1. While previous work has typically relied on digital accelerators to address navigation challenges [3]–[5], mimetic-path CIM architectures, which incorporate SRAM within their processing-element (PE) arrays, have demonstrated superior performance, power efficiency, and area utilization (PPA). However, existing mimetic-CIM solutions face several challenges: (1) single-direction searching (SDS) inefficiently utilizes half of the available search time; (2) DFF-based temporary storage suffers from poor PPA, while dynamic-logic based alternatives are prone to leakage issues; and (3) limited processing windows can lead to task failures in large-scale maps, but previous attempts to address these issues, such as map direct transfer and splitting, have their own limitations. this paper presents a 28nm 32×32 mimetic-path NeuroPilot CIM macro with (1) dual-direction searching (DDS) to accelerate the path searching; (2) a dynamic-logic pilot PE with an outspread pre-charge (OPC) circuit, achieving a superior PPA while reducing leakage; and (3) a novel 3-step coarse/fine-path (TsCFP) flow enabling efficient navigation of large maps. the proposed chip achieves a search rate of 3670M nodes/s, 213.6μm 2 PE area, and a 69.4fJ node energy consumption.

Vehicle Routing Problems (VRPs) are well-know combinatorial optimization problems used to design an optimal route for a fleet of vehicles to service a set of customers under a number of constraints. Due to their NP-hard complexity, a number of purely computational techniques have been proposed in recent years in order to solve them. Among these techniques, nature-inspired algorithms have proven their effectiveness in terms of accuracy and convergence speed. Some of these methods are also designed in such a way to decompose the basic problem into a number of sub-problems which are subsequently solved in parallel computing environments. It is therefore the purpose of this paper to review the fresh corpus of the literature dealing with the main approaches proposed over the past few years to solve combinatorial optimization problems in general and, in particular, the VRP and its different variants. Bibliometric and review studies are conducted with a special attention paid to metaheuristic strategies involving procedures with parallel architectures. the obtained results show an expansion of the use of parallel algorithms for solving various VRPs. Nevertheless, the regression in the number of citations in this framework proves that the interest of the research community has declined somewhat in recent years. this decline may be explained by the lack of rigorous mathematical results and practical interfaces under famous calculation softwares.

Myoelectric signals from the human motor control system can improve the real-time control and neural-machine interface of robotic leg prostheses and exoskeletons for different locomotor activities (e.g., walking, sitting down, stair ascent, and non-rhythmic movements). Here we review the latest advances in myoelectric control designs and propose future directions for research and innovation. We review the different wearable sensor technologies, actuators, signal processing, and pattern recognition algorithms used for myoelectric locomotor control and intent recognition, with an emphasis on the hierarchical architectures of volitional control systems. Common mechanisms within the control architecture include 1) open-loop proportional control with fixed gains, 2) active-reactive control, 3) joint mechanical impedance control, 4) manual-tuning torque control, 5) adaptive control with varying gains, and 6) closed-loop servo actuator control. Based on our review, we recommend that future research consider using musculoskeletal modeling and machine learning algorithms to map myoelectric signals from surface electromyography (EMG) to actuator joint torques, thereby improving the automation and efficiency of next-generation EMG controllers and neural interfaces for robotic leg prostheses and exoskeletons. We also propose an example model-based adaptive impedance EMG controller including muscle and multibody system dynamics. Ongoing advances in the engineering design of myoelectric control systems have implications for both locomotor assistance and rehabilitation.

parallel data platforms are recognized as a key solution for processing analytical queries running on extremely large data warehouses (DWs). Deploying a DW on such platforms requires efficient data partitioning and allocation techniques. Most of these techniques assume a priori knowledge of workload. To deal with their evolution, reactive strategies are mainly used. the BI 2.0 requirements have put large batch and ad-hoc user queries at the center. Consequently, reactive-based solutions for deploying a DW in parallel platforms are not sufficient. Autonomous computing has emerged as a paradigm that allows digital objects managing themselves in accordance with high-level guidance by the means of proactive approaches. Being inspired by this paradigm, we propose in this paper, a proactive approach based on a query clustering model to deploying a DW over a parallel platform. the query clustering triggers partitioning and allocation processes by considering only evolved query groups. Intensive experiments were conducted to show the efficiency of our proposal.

Massive multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) is a novel communication technique featured with tens of users at terminals are served by hundreds of antennas at the base-station. It is a promising solution for upcoming 5G communication and has been adopted by standards such as 3GPP LTE and IEEE 802.11n due to its higher spectral and energy efficiency. However, prohibitive computation complexity of data detection, low hardware efficiency and high hardware complexity have been the obstacle for wide application of MIMO. In this paper, a comprehensive summary about designs of algorithm and VLSI hardware architecture to solve mentioned problems will be proposed. these designs include using innovative Truncated Neumann series, Gauss-Seidel Method and so on to lower computational complexity and using iterative computation unit, pipeline design and so on to improve the hardware architecture. these methods have improved the performance of MIMO from different aspects and to different extends. Based on the summary, some improvement of mentioned methods and prediction of probable trends of the development of the technique will be articulated. All these methods and future development should be focused on finding better ways to circumvent matrix inversion and minimize deterioration in other aspects brought by it.

Graphics processing units (GPUs) are widely used in the area of scientific computing. While GPUs provide much higher peak performance, efficient implementation of real applications on the GPU architectures is still a non-trivial task. It is crucial to realize efficient solution algorithms that can better utilize GPU architectures. this paper presents our efforts in parallelizing and optimizing LESAP, a CFD application for scramjet combustion simulation, on NVIDIA GPUs. the GPU parallelization is realized based on the CUDA programming model, with a data-parallel implicit time-marching method that is efficient on the GPU architecture. Furthermore, shared memory and redundant calculation are proposed to reduce memory access overhead during GPU computation, and data transfer between CPU and GPU is optimized by packing the data to be transferred. the experimental results show that the GPU version, when runs on four V100 GPUs, achieves a speedup of 11.26 times compared to the CPU version that runs on two 24-core Intel Skylake Gold 6240R CPUs. Excellent parallel scalability across multiple GPUs is also observed.

Use of heterogeneous architectures has steadily increased during the past decade. However, non-homogeneous systems present a challenge to the programming model as the execution models between CPU and accelerator might differ considerably. OpenMP, since version 4.0, has been trying to bridge this gap by allowing to offload a code block to a target device. Among the additions to the OpenMP offloading API since, the most notably probably is asynchronous execution between device and host. By default, offloaded regions are executed synchronously, thus the host thread blocks until their completion. the nowait clause allows work to overlap between the host and target device. However, nowait must be manually added by the user, along with the tasks data dependencies and appropriate synchronization to avoid race conditions, increasing the program complexity and developer burden. In this work, we present automatic asynchronous execution for OpenMP offloaded regions. By taking advantage of the distinct host and target data environments, we discover opportunities that allow them to overlap execution without any need for user intervention. We also describe the necessary changes in the LLVM/OpenMP runtime. We evaluate our implementation through multiple HPC proxy applications and well known parallel benchmarks executed on GPUs. the measured performance can double for an ideal test case while real application exhibit speedups between 5% and 34%. © 2022 IEEE.
