Right on time for several large-scale experimental upgrades, the widely used and long-standing air shower simulation toolkit CORSIKA 7 will be updated to a "state of the art"C++ simulation framework. To meet the simultaneously rising demand for high-quality air shower simulations and the ecologic necessity to reduce energy consumption several new possibilities for optimizations will be tested. One of the biggest runtime consumers in the classic simulation is the propagation of fluorescence and Cherenkov photons through the atmosphere. With the rising popularity of highly parallel computing architectures, the runtime of this specific workload can be reduced significantly. In this Work, the most common architecture, in the form of GPUs, is utilized for this task. Two competing implementations in Cuda and OpenCL are compared and different techniques presented that enable a high GPU utilization. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

Knowledge representation learning (KRL) is one of the important research topics in artificial intelligence and Natural language processing. It can efficiently calculate the semantics of entities and relations in a low-dimensional space, and effectively solve the problem of data sparsity, which significantly improve the performance of knowledge acquisition, fusion and reasoning and so on. Starting from the five perspectives of distance-based, semantic matching, bilinear-based, neural network model and additional information model, this paper first introduces the overall framework and specific model design, and then correspondingly introduces the experimental evaluation tasks, metrics and benchmark datasets of each model. On this basis, how to apply KRL to various downstream tasks is summarized. © 2020 IEEE.

High efficiency Video Coding (HEVC) is the state-of-the-art video coding technique capable of encoding Ultra High Definition (UHD) videos with better compression efficiency and has better reconstruction quality for the same bitrate as compared to its predecessors. Better compression is possible due to its complex partition and prediction methods. these benefits are at the cost of increased computational complexity, which in turn increases resource consumption and processing time. In this work, we design and implement three different architectures, viz: 1) Fully Sequential Architecture (FSA), 2) Semi-parallel Architecture (SPA) and 3) Fully parallel Architecture (FPA), for the Intra prediction of HEVC on Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGA) and discuss the results. these three configurations are tested for the prediction units of sizes 44, 88 and 1616. Results show that FSA uses nearly 70% fewer resources than FPA. Also FSA uses 51.73%, 54.33% and 52.2% less resources than SPA for 44, 88 and 1616 block sizes, respectively. Also, the FPA implemented for all three pediction unit (PU) sizes is nearly 22 times and 5 times faster than the FSA and SPA, respectively. © 2020 IEEE.

Internet of things (IoT) is an uprising technology. It involves in smart city, smart grid, smart home implementation where it connects all the object with each other to transfer the data and take decision according to the environment. the Internet of things handle with large amount of data. According to a survey per day in the world 2.5 quintillion bytes of data is produced. Data is a wealth in today's world where upcoming wars between the nations will be cyberwar. Enormous amount of data is producing in the world by IoT and other application. Data Hacking is major menace in IoT application. the encryption technique is one of the cryptographic practices which is used to eliminate the data hacking. the proposed work focusses on implementation of Full parallelism Triple Advanced Encryption Standard to encrypt the data from the end device in IoT application to provide data security. the encrypted data is difficult to decrypted without knowing the appropriate key in proper order. It makes the cryptanalysis difficult in terms provides more security to the IoT data. the full parallelism technique supports parallel processing of data in the encryption process reduce the encryption and decryption time. the Triple AES with Full parallelism renders high security than existing AES technique which is used to provide high security to the data transmitted from the IoT gateway to the servers and the data stored in the database as an encrypted format to eliminate data hacking in smart city implementations. the software implementation of the proposed algorithm is carried out in XILINX 18.1 software and the results are discussed.

the challenge of deploying mission critical services upon virtualised shared network models is the allocation of both radio and cloud resources to the critical actors who require prioritized and high-quality services. this paper describes the design and deployment of an intelligent orchestration cycle to manage end-to-end slices on a NFV architecture. this novel tool includes the monitoring of the network elements at different levels and the processing of the gathered data to produce the corresponding alert mitigation actions.

Fast implementation of stereo depth estimation algorithms on low-cost processors is demanding both insight of the algorithmic architecture and efficient parallelization techniques. this paper proposes an ARM-base OpenMP parallel implementation method of ELAS (Efficient Large-Scale Stereo algorithms), which is very promising for fast computation on embedded systems. Our experiments were conducted under multi-core environments, both on an 8-core computer and an 8-core ARM ODROID-XU4. the parallel performance was examined in two ways: single image's parallel processing and batch processing of an image set containing seven pictures. Experimental results demonstrate the efficiency of our acceleration method, which can achieve a speeding-up for more than four times compared with the original sequential implementation.

In the course of patrol and exploration on extraterrestrial celestial bodies, it is hard to monitor the state of the planetary rover in real time due to the large communication delay and tight link between the target planet and the earth. In order to solve this problem, a parallel system is developed which simulates the state of the environment variable and the planetary rover simultaneously to realize the real-time monitoring of the rover. the test and analysis of the system is also introduced in this paper. Based on this system, the level of telemetry data interpretation of planetary rover can be effectively improved to ensure the safety of planetary rover in the process of surface detection of extraterrestrial bodies.

Many recent computing platforms combine CPUs with different types of accelerators such as Graphical processing Units (GPUs), to cope with the increasing computation needs of complex real-time applications. However, most hardware accelerators have not been designed to provide predictable timing-behavior to support real-time tasks. Moreover, they do not provide efficient preemption mechanisms. In this work, we present the design of a software library to program and execute real-time tasks onto hardware accelerators (e.g. GPUs) that exhibit limited-preemption capabilities with variables costs. the library provides: 1) parallel execution for real-time applications within the same accelerator;2) the choice of different partitioned scheduling algorithms (FP, EDF, Gang-EDF);3) support for (limited) task preemption. We describe a user space implementation of the library as a proof of concept. We also present a schedulability analysis for real-time tasks programmed using this platform, in particular for partitioned EDF and GANG-EDF. the effectiveness of the proposed scheduling strategies and their analyses is demonstrated through 1) actual measurements on a GPU platform, and 2) through synthetic task sets.

Now a day, educational institutions present one of the highest power consuming sector due to their new activities and occupancy pattern. this enormous amount of energy consumption at the university need a huge effort to reduce it. Smart grid is among the efficient solution to save energy and balance supply and demand. For the same purpose, the National School of Applied Sciences of El Jadida-Morocco wants take advantage from smart grid to maintain the balance between energy production and consumption. Despite of all added value of this smart grid solution for the school, it has the issue of managing energy production surplus, because it cannot inject it into Moroccan electrical infrastructure neither store it using storage devices. So, to overcome this challenge the system need to predict electrical consumption to be able to produce exactly the same value. Recently, Big Data contributed very well in analysing electrical consumption data using many tools and advanced techniques. It process, interprets and analyzes huge quantity of data to make it more profitable and valuable. For that reason, the school will take refuge in Big data technology to implement a custom system to predict electrical energy consumption by analyze all factors that influence electrical energy use. In this paper, we propose a benchmark of the main Big Data architectures in the field and that will cover all electrical energy data processing from data collection, data storage, data analytic and data visualization. the aim of this benchmark is to choose the optimal architecture in term of fault tolerance, resource management, data storage and data modelling to forecast electricity consumption in educational institutions.

Work-efficient task-parallel algorithms enforce ordering between tasks using queuing primitives. Such algorithms offer limited parallelism due to queuing constraints that result in data movement and synchronization bottlenecks. Speculatively relaxing order of tasks across cores using the Galois framework shows promise as false dependencies generated by strict queuing constraints are mitigated to unlock task parallelism. However, relaxed ordering results in redundant work, for which Galois relies on static measures to improve work-efficiency. this paper proposes a dynamic multi-level parent-child task dependency checking mechanism in Galois to prune redundant work by exploiting monotonic properties of shared data values. Evaluation on a 40-core Intel Xeon multicore shows an average of 2x performance improvements over state-of-the-art ordered and relax ordered graph algorithms.
