cognitive radio networks are promising systems to enable efficient use of spectral resources, thanks to identification of Primary Users (PU) possessing guaranteed radio resources and Secondary Users (SU), trying to use temporary unused channels. Assuming that PU traffic is low, it can switch off specific subcarriers in OFDM signal and this subbands can be used by SU. the proposed method is based on spectrum pooling, assuming that secondary users spectrum access is flexible and should not degrade performance of the licensed user link. As an adaptive modulation scheme, a use of OFDM modulation is proposed, but to use this technique it is necessary to reduce out of band interference. this paper compares four methods and present results of laboratory tests on real OFDM signals.

Visual cognitive ability is important for intelligent robots in unstructured and dynamic environments. the high reliance on large amounts of data prevents prior methods to handle this task. therefore, we propose a model called knowledge-experience fusion graph (KEFG) network for novel inference. It exploits information from both knowledge and experience. With the employment of graph convolutional network (GCN), KEFG generates the predictive classifiers of the novel classes with few labeled samples. Experiments show that KEFG can decrease the training time by the fusion of the source information and also increase the classification accuracy in cross-task learning. © 2021, Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

In this paper, we consider a two-way cognitive relay network comprising two sources and multiple relays. the relays use a simple Amplify-and-Forward relaying mechanism. For such networks, we formulate the max-min and sum capacity optimization problems. the formulated optimization problems are non-convex and nonlinear in nature. We obtain the optimal solution of the optimization problems by using a known technique called Global Optimization Algorithm (GOP). We note that the computational complexity of the GOP algorithm grows exponentially with the number of relays. therefore, we propose low-complexity heuristics that provide suboptimal solutions to the given optimization problems. the simulation results show that the performance of the heuristics is close to that of the respective optimal solutions.

the aim is to make appropriate reflections on artificial intelligence AI through the differences in cognitive systems between intelligent digital libraries and well-trained experts, especially scientists. the method is: first, compare the difference and connection between data structure and knowledge reserve, then compare the difference and connection between query, retrieval or search algorithm path, finally, compare the difference and connection between cognitive computing and cognitive ability. Its characteristics are: data query or search algorithm and logical reasoning or cognitive computing, knowledge graph and cognitive graph are all conducive to the construction of intelligent digital library. the result is: it is found that whether it is based on rules or statistics or a combination of the two cognitive systems, there are limitations in cognitive computing and cognitive ability or intelligence. Its significance lies in: from this we can at least reflect on the theoretical limits of AI and some worthy questions, such as the calculability problem and Turing test problem and the Chinese Room Argument of the intelligent digital library. the problem of isomorphism with the information processing mode of the intelligent digital computer, and why can’t the intelligent digital library become a well-trained expert or even a scientist, and so on are worthy of the philosophy of logic and mind with cognitive Science. © 2021, Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

In the recent research, compressive sampling (CS) has received attention in the area of signal processing and wireless communications for the reconstruction of signals. CS aids in reducing the sampling rate of received signals thereby decreasing the processing time of analog-to-digital converters (ADC). the energy minimization is the key feature of CS. In this work, CS has been applied to spectrum sensing in cognitive radio networks (CRN). the primary user (PU) signal is optimally detected using the sparse representation of received signals. the received PU signal is compressed in the time domain to extract the minimum energy coefficients and then applied to sensing. Further, the signal is detected using energy detection technique and recovered using l(1)-minimization algorithm. the detection performance for various compression rates is analyzed.
