In the context of today's digital production, the quality inspection of printed materials has become a key technology to improve printing efficiency and quality of finished products. Especially with the rapid development of the printing industry, the traditional manual inspection method has been difficult to meet the needs of large-scale, high-efficiency production. In order to solve this problem, the automatic inspection system of print defects based on machine vision comes into being, which can not only greatly improve the detection speed and accuracy, but also effectively reduce the labor cost. this paper proposes an efficient defect detection method for printed materials, combining key technologies such as image differencing, binarization, mathematical morphology algorithms, Blob analysis and connectivity analysis to realize automatic identification and classification of minor defects in printed materials. the design and experimental results of the system show that the method has significant advantages in real-time and detection accuracy, and is expected to play an important role in future printing quality control. © 2025 IEEE.

the economic output of the pharmaceutical industry is an important part of China's national economy. Firstly, this paper analyses the financial status of the enterprise and identifies the financial risks based on the financial data of Hengrui Medicine from 2018 to 2022. By analysing the data and combining the enterprise measuresit is found that Hengrui Medicine has financial risks such as mismanagement of inventory and accounts receivable and excessive expenses. then, the entropy weight method and efficacy coefficient method are applied to evaluate the risks of Hengrui Medicine and the results are obtained. Finally, Hengrui Medicine puts forward targeted control measures for the financial risks of Hengrui Medicine, and provides reference value for other pharmaceutical enterprises to control risks. © 2024 Copyright held by the owner/author(s). In a product-based manufacturing layout, the operator must inspect multiple similar products, making the process monotonous and strenuous. the quality control stage is mandatory in any manufacturing industry before the final product is dispatched. Of many quality inspection procedures, visual inspection is the most widely used. However, the visual inspection process becomes repetitive due to the vast number of products to be inspected daily. Hence, the operator carrying the inspection process is prone to human limitations like fatigue, which results in error, i.e. missing some of the inspection points. To mitigate this problem, a computer-Assisted Visual Inspection System (CAVIS) has been proposed in this work, which monitors and ensures inspection carried out by the operator. In CAVIS, a hand-tracking model detects and tracks the operator’s hand motion, i.e. the pointing finger used to touch the inspection markings to be checked. the present work is divided mainly into two parts: developing the inspection system algorithm to determine the coordinates of inspection marks in the image captured by a vision camera and subsequently tracking and ensuring the operator touches all the inspection markings using the pointing finger in real time, i.e. validating the developed system through experimental investigation. © the Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2025.

To investigate the damage and destruction caused by gas explosion shock waves to the wall structures of a roadway, the physical and mathematical models of gas explosion in roadways were established using ANSYS/LS-DYNA to conduct a numerical simulation study on the destructive characteristics of gas explosion shock waves in excavation roadways. the results indicate that the Excess pressure measurements are higher at the edge and center positions of the roadway wall, resulting in relatively more severe damage to the wall. the shock waves also exhibit reflection and superposition on the axial wall of the roadway, leading to fluctuations in the overall Excess pressure peak. After the gas explosion, the shock waves propagate towards the opening direction, with the maximum load applied to the wall in the gas zone, gradually spreading to the air zone. As the energy of the explosion shock waves decays, the stress continues to be applied to the wall structure, with concentrated pressure exerting static damage to the wall structure. Ultimately, the damage exceeds the structure's bearing capacity, resulting in the instability and destruction of the roadway. these research findings provide theoretical references for optimizing the design of roadway structures. © 2024 Copyright held by the owner/author(s). With the increasing popularity and preference of online classes, teachers are at a disadvantage of losing face-time with students and are faced with the challenge of monitoring their students’ attention levels remotely. this research, VisioFocus, presents a non-invasive student monitoring system using deep learning and computer vision to measure and analyze the attention levels of students. It has two main components namely Pose Estimation and Emotion Recognition which processes the captured facial images of the student through the webcam at 15 frames per second to measure the attention level. the Pose Estimation model uses pure computer vision and the Emotion Recognition model uses a modified ResNet deep convolutional network that could classify emotions portrayed into 6 different labels at about 70% accuracy. this research proposes a novel and reliable approach to measuring attention levels, which will have a significant impact on the education field. the analytical survey of attention levels after each lecture will enable educators to tailor their teaching approach to specific students, resulting in better academic development. © the Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2025.

Artificial intelligence plays an important role in agricultural pest control. In order to address the issue of agricultural crop diseases, this study proposes an intelligent agricultural disease recognition technology based on the Internet of things. In this study, the Internet of things technology is used to extract disease image data, and the images are preprocessed and segmented. Secondly, the Stacking algorithm training data is introduced to realize the classification and recognition of crop diseases. the recognition accuracy of the research model in the big spot disease is 0.975, and the recognition accuracy of corn rust in the 5th sample is 0.975. the recognition effect is better than that of similar models. In the comparison of recognition errors, the root mean square error of the research model is 0.097, and the error value is the lowest. Finally, in the comprehensive recognition comparison, the precision rate and recall rate of the research model are the best. the application effect of this research model in practical scenarios is very good. the research content will significantly improve the application of machine vision algorithm technology in the field of agriculture and provide suggestions for the development of modern agriculture. © 2025 SPIE.
