the article implements the functions in Postgre SQL DBMS, finding the shortest paths on graphs, using the wave algorithm method, the Dijkstra’s method and the Floyd method. the authors determined models of dependencies of the running time of implementations of the shortest-path search algorithms on graphs on the number of graph vertices experimentally. A comparison of the data obtained as a result of the study was carried out to find the best applications of implementations of the shortest path search algorithms in the Postgre SQL DBMS. © 2019 CEUR Workshop Proceedings.

this research introduces an approach to diagnose diseases from medical check-up test reports. the proposed approach is produced from Optical Character Recognition (OCR) technology to convert the hard copy test reports into editable textual data, Bag of Words (BoW) model as feature selection algorithm, Naïve Bayes as classification algorithm, and AdaBoost technique to enhance the performance of the Naïve Bayes classifier. the performance of the proposed approach is very good in terms of validity and can be used in diagnosing of diseases from medical check-up test reports. the proposed approach is trained on dedicated trained partitions of multiple medical datasets, and then tested on the testing sets partitioned from the original datasets. the proposed algorithm is compared with the Support Vector Machine (SVM), Naïve Bayes (NB), Decision Table (DT), and k-Nearest Neighbors (k-NN) classifiers, in which all the algorithms are tested on the same datasets. the proposed algorithm showed higher accuracy than the other four classifiers. So, the proposed approach which is the combination of BoW with AdaBoost technique is used to predict the name of the diseases from the medical check-up test reports. After that, an image as an example of the disease will be presented as well with the name of the disease to the physician and the patient. the image presentation is very important for the patients, because they may not familiar with the medical terms and disease names. Finally, the proposed approach can be used in the medical area because of its good performance and showing validated results after it is tested. © 2019 IEEE.

the student’s performance plays an important role in producing the best quality graduate who will responsible for the country’s economic growth and social development. the labor market also concerns with student’s performance because the fresh graduate students are considered as an employee depends on their academic performance. So, identification of the reason behind student’s performance variation provides valuable information for planning education and policies. Many researchers try to find out the reason with different types of data mining approaches in different countries. However, none of them worked with Bangladeshi students. this paper proposed a model for identifying the key factors of variation Bangladeshi students’ academic performance and predicts their results. this paper proposes a model which able to identify the students who need special attention. Different types of feature selection methods were used such as Co-relation, Chi-Square and Euclidean distance to select valuable features and feature selections result through decision tree, Naive Bayes, K-nearest neighbor and Artificial Neural Network classifiers algorithm were compared. the performance analysis is done by using student SGPA and review on given facilities from a university. From the performance analysis result it is found that, decreasing number of classes in dataset, the Artificial Neural Network (ANN) (93.70%) performs better than Decision Tree (DT) (92.18%), K-Nearest Neighbors (KNN) (77.74%) and Naïve Bayes (NB) (68.33%). However, an increasing number of classes in dataset the DT perform better than ANN, KNN, NB. © 2020, Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

High absenteeism among employees can be detrimental to an organization as it can result in productivity and economic loss. this paper looks into a case of absenteeism in a courier company in Brazil. Machine learning techniques have been employed to understand and predict absenteeism. Understanding this would provide human resource managers an excellent decision aid to create policies that can aim to reduce absenteeism. Data has been preprocessed, and several machine learning classification algorithms (such as zeroR, tree-based J48, naive Bayes, and KNN) have been applied. the paper reports models that can predict absenteeism with an accuracy of over 92%. Furthermore, from an initial of 20 attributes, disciplinary failure turns out to be a very prominent feature in predicting absenteeism.

Using bots in social media is a significant concern for information validity and authenticity. Currently, there are several solutions for bots detection. However, the accuracy of the detection still needs improvement. the main aim of this paper is to introduce an automatic mechanism for the detection and removal of bots that exist on social media platforms. the research has the purpose of removing the non-genuine accounts, their related information, and the data which are posted by them and to make these platforms free of misleading information. Bots detection and removal will increase the authenticity of the contents presented on different social media platforms. Also, It will improve the level of privacy and authenticity of these platforms and related users. the research uses the bot detection technique based on machine learning algorithms. the components of the study are data, feature selection, and bot detection. the research performs web development and hosting on the collected data with a machine-learning algorithm to perform bot detection in social media networks. the proposed system provides a more accurate and effective system for bot detection using machine learning. the research utilizes various approaches and mechanisms that lead to the enhanced efficiency of bot detection and removals.
